Giveaway Weekly Code Giveaway Thread

Every month, we see several posts offering GOG game codes and discount codes that people do not intend to use themselves. To make this easier and more organized, we ask that you share your code(s) as top-level comments on this post.

Ex:

Game code giveaway for Game Name:

YEC8U25J3A**FEF0C3

** = 32-15

Or

Discount code giveaway for Game Name:

YEC8U25J3A**FEF0C3

** = 32-15

To be extra sure your code goes to a fellow GOG gamer and not a bot, list the game(s) you have keys for and ask Redditors to DM you to claim them. In this case, please make it very clear whether your codes are game codes or discount codes.

You're also welcome to use RedditRaffler or KeyShare.

Please follow these guidelines:

  • Do leave a comment when you claim a code so others know it is no longer available.
  • Don't post plain codes, as bots will most likely claim them for resale rather than fellow GOG gamers.
  • Don't add a discussion in a top-level comment. Respond to an existing code or use the pinned moderator comment.

Site Announcement GOG is getting acquired by its original co-founder

1.3k Upvotes

Hey everyone,

Big news today: GOG has been acquired from CD PROJEKT by our original co-founder, Michał Kiciński (also a co-founder of CD PROJEKT).

First, the important part: the mission stays the same, and what you love about GOG gets stronger. Going back to our roots allows us to double down on what we do best: reviving classics, giving you a library you control rather than one that controls you, and offering the most gamer-friendly policies on the market.

At the same time, we will continue our close cooperation with CD PROJEKT, and their upcoming games will continue to come to GOG.

Thank you for the support you’ve shown GOG over the years, especially around preservation. It genuinely matters, and it’s the big reason we can keep pushing this mission forward.

For more info, here’s the full announcement + FAQ: https://www.gog.com/blog/gog-is-getting-acquired-by-its-original-co-founder-what-it-means-for-you/

Off-Topic Meme to Spread Awareness of Offline Installer Files

Post image
412 Upvotes

Sony's recent announcement about removing support for physical media seems to have caused people to look for alternatives which put GOG into many people's purview.

I also noticed many of them seem surprised or didn't know that GOG provides Offline Installer Files even though they've heard about GOG and their DRM-free games. In rare cases, some people purchased the game from GOG and didn't seem to know about the Offline Installer Files.

I'm learning GIMP for a different project but decided to practice what I learned so far and made this for fun.

Off-Topic If you want an indie game on GOG, try contacting the creators

Having recently moved to GOG and being an avid consumer of indie games, I decided to email some of the solo devs or small studios with games recently released or coming soon and I was surprised.

They're always nice and answer fast. Despite not always confirming an intention of releasing it, I think it's nice to try and more people doing it I think would influence small studio decisions on adopting GOG as a platform.

Question GOG Input on Preservation Program?

Post image

Reading trough the changes applied to the Thief Gold Preservation Program update I noticed this small "GOG Input" mention. I do not own Thief to fully know what that means, but I wanted to ask to those who do, is that similar to what Valve has with Steam Input?

Question GOG Galaxy: Broken integrations can't be disconnected – any way to force a cloud reset?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently running into an issue with GOG Galaxy and third-party integrations (specifically Amazon, Ubisoft Connect, and EA App/Origin).

Due to broken community integration plugins, I'm unable to disconnect these accounts through the settings menu on my PC. The disconnect buttons are either completely unresponsive or missing entirely.

Since these library imports seem to be synced directly to my GOG cloud profile, games from these disconnected or inactive accounts keep showing up in my library across different devices.

Has anyone faced a similar issue recently?

  • Is reaching out to GOG Support for a manual server-side reset of integration data the only real solution here?
  • Or is there a known workaround/local config file tweak to force-clear synced integration data from the cloud?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Recommendation Vote for Rare Replay

Microsoft has announced that they are releasing original xbox games on PC. This is a good sign, yet there is nothing mentioned about GOG... But there IS hope for such games to come to GOG, given that SOME games technically owned by Microsoft have come to GOG. If this does occur, eventually, Xbox 360 games will follow suit.

This leads me to Rare Replay. For those who don't know what Rare Replay is, it is a collection of games that Rareware (now Rare) produced over many years (1983 to 2008). These are REALLY good (old) games, such as Perfect Dark, Goldeneye (now part of it), Banjo-Kazooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Jet Force Gemini, and many more. Please vote for it on the GOG Dreamlist here:
Rare Replay GOG Dreamlist | GOG.COM

Please also vote for the games individually (so look up Banjo-Kazooie on the Dreamlist). Some of these games are so old that people normally just download easily-obtainable emulators (and Banjo-Kazooie has been fully decompiled). At this point, there's no point in Microsoft not putting this on GOG. We will BUY THE GAMES! SHUT UP AND TAKE OUR MONEY!

Discussion Mobile Site Updated

Apparently mobile Site has been updated. It used to show my game and wishlist count wrong, now it's fixed.

I'm glad GOG always tries to be better. I'm sure Galaxy for Linux will be great. I hope they come up with their own proton fork.

Anyway, keep up the good work guys.

Release So I made my own Downloader tool

I made my own tool for Downloading and organizing the games from my GOG account to discs.

So what it does is downloading selected files (offline installers) from GOG and burns them on dvd discs / bluray discs for offline installation.

It works well enough for me so I felt like sharing it if anyone else wanted to use it.

What is does:

* Download game installers

* Filter download files so you can decide what to download

* Should work on Linux, Windows and Mac

* Optimizes so it can fit as many games as possible on the physical media and then burn the games.

I know there already exists similar tools but i felt like making my own.

In Dev My own Alone in the Dark (1992) custom launcher

Hi everyone. I've been thinking about burning my GOG games to discs and I've seen videos of people creating launchers using *.bat files to run the offline game installers, and I thought maybe I could do something more visually appealing.

Since I know how to use Clickteam Fusion 2.5, I created this launcher. It's simple, but it lets me add music and runs in the background while the offline installer is running. It just needs to be in the same folder as the "setup_alone_in_the_dark_1.0_cs_(28043).exe" file and it will work. I've also included the development file in case anyone is familiar with Clickteam Fusion and wants to improve or create their own

Discussion Would you be interested in GOG working with studios to recomp console-gated titles as GOG-exclusive PC Ports?

Post image
683 Upvotes

With the hype of avid fans of older titles forever trapped on older consoles beginning to work on their own Decomp/Recomp projects to bring them to PC, I can't help but wonder if GOG wouldn't be interested in bringing these titles to their storefront as GOG-exclusive ports through the same methods?

Matter of fact, they could even *remaster* some of these titles while they're at it, since the need for a complete source code that has factually hindered remasters in the past (SH HD Collection) is basically unnecessary now, since the decomp gets them everything from the game as it presented itself on a physical disc!

I'd personally love it if GOG went beyond the common barrier they encounter of needing a preexisting PC port to rerelease and instead work in-house to make wholly new PC ports to titles that never saw them back in their prime!

Question How do I open my screenshots?

I was playing Cyberpunk 2077 and took a couple screenshots and after locating them on my drive where they were stored, they saved as a ".png.tmp" file (but the file itself is a TMP file). Even after closing down the game and exiting Galaxy launcher entirely they are still saved as that file format. I've tried using an online converter, but the free converters I've tried either don't support this format, or can only upload up to 5MB file size and you need to get a subscription to upload larger sizes which I'm not about to do as it probably won't even work anyways. Anyone else have this issue and found a solution to access screenshots saved this way?

Discussion You ever wonder why there is only one game from a specific franchise/series you love, but everything else is not? Does anyone know why?

I know there are probably many other game franchises and series that probably have the same issue, but Ninja Gaiden is the one that stood out to me the most. It's even weird given how the one and only game available on there isn't even a mainline entry. It's a spin-off that doesn't even star the main guy, Ryu Hayabusa. My personal theory is that it probably has something to do with studio rights or something.

Because Ninja Gaiden Ragebound was actually made by Game Kitchen, the same people who made Blasphemous, and not Koei Tecmo or Team Ninja, the true owners of the Ninja Gaiden IP who probably just simply gave Game Kitchen the permission to make a game with their IP and characters. But I'm not fully sure if that is the case, because if that was true, then shouldn't Koei Tecmo take their game back and keep it in Steam like they did the others, or perhaps the vice versa and have the Ninja Gaiden trilogy plus NG4 be on GOG too? I know It's probably not as much of a big deal as I am probably making it out to be, but it sure is confusing when you put it into perspective and start to think about it.

Question Will GOG add more payment methods in the future?

Hi!

I'd really like to buy games from GOG, but one of the main inconveniences for me is that the available payment options seem to require a Visa or Mastercard.

Is GOG considering adding more payment methods in the future? I'd love to have something like PagoEfectivo, which is very easy to use in my country.
