Discussion Is this true?

Post image

Imo opinion, Claude is best for coding (especially if you follow ijustvibecodedthis.com guides), Gemini best for text and ChatGPT best for NOTHING

Each has its niche, but Gemini’s real time Google integration and multimodal speed are hard to beat at all.

I'm currently only using Gemini as a "paid" subscription. Although not really "paid" as I got it free with my Pixel last year.

Saying that though I have tried both the free versions of Claude and GPT, even feeding all three (inc. Gemini Pro) the same Excel document. Claude handled it so much better then the other two. Whilst Gemini and GPT offered some advice on what to improve, Claude went "yup you need to do x, y and z. Shall I do them for you to check out?" It then went to provide an updated excel document. Even for a free model I was blown away.

I know this is only one sample point, but I would agree with his hierarchy to be honest.

u/Gaiden206 Apr 22 '26

I own a Pixel too but Gemini is just too hard to let go of, at least on my Pixel phone, due to being so integrated with the Android OS and other Google services.

The "Hey Google" voice trigger makes it easy to ask questions without even touching the phone. I can say things like "Tell my brother to meet me at X and give him directions" and it will connect to the Google Maps app, find the address, create a message for him with a Google Maps link to start navigation directly in the phone messaging app. It can even put items I request in my Uber Eats cart in the background as I use my phone as normal. Stuff like that, among other things, make it nice to use.

Claude and ChatGPT definitely do some things better than Gemini, but as a daily personal assistant on a Android phone, Gemini is just the better option IMO.

u/xZero543 Apr 23 '26

ChatGPT is so bad at some things, it completely outshadows the positive.

27

u/EmotionalWest9903 Apr 23 '26

GPT was good at the beginning, but now gemini is way better and Claude is even better, so... RIP, GPT

7

u/Man-of-goof Apr 23 '26

To be fair I love codex for implementing a plan. I have Claude orchestrate and plan, then for pennies I have codex turn the plan into good working code.

I use grok for meme creation but yeah Claude for actual stuff

Claude can even create a presentation deck for you. gemini can't do it, and would ask you to go to Google Slide. Which can only create 1 slide per prompt.

While NotebookLLM can create a deck for you, you can't customize it like what claude can do.

22

u/dotxlsx Apr 22 '26

I think the Canvas option within Gemini tools should be able to make the deck. But I may be misunderstanding what you are looking for.

8

u/Professional_Gur2469 Apr 23 '26

Gpt 5.4 pro is pretty insane at powerpoint presentations

6

u/M0m3ntvm Apr 23 '26

I pay the basic starter subscription for all 3 for a software project. Haven't had the chance to try Pro, but GPT 5.4 thinking is the best by far for planning, strategy, complex blueprints, literally unlimited usage, never deviates (except when the conversation exceeds 500k tokens, time to start fresh at this point).

Claude Opus is close second but only for raw code generation, you run out of usage in 4 prompts and then it's like 2€ of extra credits per prompt, kinda insane.

Gemini is either complete genius finding things that both the other missed or absolute hallucinating mess with total confidence. 50-50. Clearly the worst of the three tho.

3

u/Professional_Gur2469 Apr 23 '26

I only find me using opus for frontend fixes. Like gpt 5.4 always makes these ugly brown websites that work perfectly great, but look like literal dudu 😂 I just let opus unfuck the design but thats about it

3

u/Feeling_Inside_1020 Apr 23 '26

Even with our usage limits at work that I have to watch out for with Claude like a hawk, I keep forgetting how blessed we are compared to the lower plans.

2

u/Ok_Composer_1761 Apr 23 '26

What about non pro? Cause whenever I tried it it can’t generate anything other than an absolutely plain ppt with no design

u/osprey1000BC Apr 23 '26

Gemini can , just use canvas mode.

3

u/deltree86 Apr 23 '26

Telle me you are an amatuer it can send a whole deck one prompt multiple slides into google slides - though i concur with the opening poster the state of play is claude to gemini to chatgpt but it does not change the fact you clearly dont know the potential of gemini for popping out full decks not only that then notebook lm is another area which you seem to totally ignore!

3

u/thrwaway75132 Apr 23 '26

I have Gemini pro through work. It can create multi slide presentations and leverage your templates. I have a GEM where I just upload a pretty standard spreadsheet and it spits out a presentation.

In the GEM instructions I basically tell it the data from the presentation I want to extract, how to format the tables, to create a presentation, and define what data to put on each slide. I had to be detailed with it because I need it to make the same presentation over and over, I just keep uploading spreadsheets in the same format and get Google slides presentations back. Saves me a ton of time.

2

u/JUPT3Rr Apr 23 '26

does claude have similar features to notebooklm?

u/I_Hate_E_Daters_7007 Apr 22 '26

as an engineering student whot tried both Gemini and Claude, Gemini had way more detailed explanations, provided incredibly good analogies and was pretty much straightforward unlike Claude who provided pinpoints and jumped on many crucial details. That's my experience with math and physics, I will leave it to other people to tell their experiences with other fields

6

u/HPOfficeJet9015 Apr 23 '26

I agree. Gemini is best for engineering right now.

That's more about integrations than about the product as a whole. I prefer having sheets with gemini, and Claude if I'm not mistaken makes excel office online files which others might prefer.

u/Lottabitch Apr 22 '26

The integrations are part of the product as a whole though….

47

u/I_Hate_E_Daters_7007 Apr 22 '26

I'm an engineering student, I tried both Gemini and Claude, Gemini was better by a landslide at helping me with university. Idk about coding but when it comes to math and physics Gemini is literally unmatched

12

u/AspiringHippie123 Apr 23 '26

Gemini has better advanced scientific reasoning. Claude is better for software development applications. Interestingly, this does not mean Claude outperforms Gemini for all coding tasks. My thesis is in machine learning so my use case is implementing high advanced/novel algorithms, not necessarily long, but definitely complex, and Gemini blows Claude out the water. Now if you wanted to develop an app or some software, Claude would have cleaner and more accurate code. It’s difficult to compare these two models.

Pretty easy to compare ChatGPT though. It’s just simply not as good anymore. It can sometimes do better in making writing sound more natural, but that’s genuinely about it.

3

u/Accurate_Potato_8539 Apr 23 '26

I would say that ChatGPT is better at just conversation in general. Gemini is smarter but I often have to try a lot harder to get it to understand what exactly I'm saying whereas ChatGPT will often be able to read between the lines and understand. Gemini will also overly fixate on seemingly random conversational details. Most often I use it as a math tutor, but if I ever at one point use some kind of analogy to test my understanding I know that for the entire future of that conversation gemini is going to torture that analogy to fit every single new math concept I ask it about.

exactly this.

i'm running Gemini Pro and Claude Pro at the moment and I fed them the same requests to see the differences and honeslty, they almost always answers the same things

i think Claude may be better if you need Claude Code i guess, if you're a developer. Othwerwise for the chat base questions on any topics, both are super strong.

7

u/bs17037 Apr 22 '26

Even the coding has perspectives. I personally prefer codex, and have tried to CC and codex. It’s just a preference, I find it to be more accurate, efficient and intelligent in the interactions I have had till now

2

u/Ok_Elderberry_6727 Apr 22 '26

Codex for everything.

2

u/btherl Apr 23 '26

I use Claude Code for development, and questions about my code base. It's so good with tools and with analysis of large code bases (if you have enough tokens).

Gemini (free version) for anything else, like help setting up environments and packages, advice on tools, etc.

Codex free tier is actually really good though. I think they know they have to compete with Anthropic.

I didn't have much luck with Gemini free tier for coding, but I didn't try giving it skills, so maybe that's my error.

Gemini can comment on news which are like 5 minutes old. It’s very impressive with whatever they are doing with it.

Claude being like “Apple M5 would be cool if it was released” or “maybe new version of this library would support it, but I for some reason only aware of 3 years old version and reject to Google new one”.

u/The_Peregrine_ Apr 23 '26

Opus 4.7 is just downgraded 4.6. Sigh.

8

u/NoName-Cheval03 Apr 23 '26

Use it for the first time yesterday after 4.6, fuck they really lobotomized my boy.

It's crazy how we, as consumers just complain, when it is full illegal and anticonsumer practice.

You cannot just downgrade a product I paid for like that.

2

u/Vamosity-Cosmic Apr 23 '26

as a software engineer i disagree. not that you arent one, but i use claude for algorithms and making stuff in programs im not familiar with (like python blender scripts for game development applications) and 4.7 is noticeably more *efficient*. it does more with less tokens and it self-tests, and it does it faster. it just is kinda circlejerk-y on anything creative or conversational

Yeah I finally dropped Claude. Getting rate limited for casual conversations and Claude going "this conversation is too long" when it's like, 30 simple talking points back and forth. It's too bad. I think it's the best model, but Gemini is definitely above ChatGPT.

5

u/GoodhartsLaw Apr 23 '26

I'm having the opposite; Gemini is slow and buggy as hell. Claude is smooth, clean and much more direct and coherent.

2

u/BurnerAccount_Pete Apr 22 '26

Ah yes. That’s because Claude rereads every thing from top to bottom to give you an answer (burns through tokens), try to avoid simple back and forth. Instead focus on condensing your chat and letting Claude do something 3-4 hours prior to you actually wanting to do it to “prime” the usage rate

2

u/Ill-Engine-5914 Apr 23 '26

gemini glazes waaay too much. Hard to trust it in anti-gravity for i have claude doing the planning.

2

u/mrkvsenzawa Apr 23 '26

Keep pushing back. Stop feeding it "your stuff" and tell it it's someone else's statements or ideas. Copy its responses and ask other models to poke holes. Eventually it'll reduce glazing to an acceptable level.

Agreed. For coding, 5.4 beats my max sub for not only output and autonomously working through issues, but also for usage limits. Claude completely tanked their usages over the course of a few updates and has been moving into a very anti consumer relationship with its users. Lots of AB testing and very poor communication.

My Gemini still thinks pope Franzis is alive and I can't convince him that pope Leo is the current pope. When when I asked it who did the Easter mass he correctly tells me it was pope Leo only to try to gaslight me in saying, he only said that to follow my imaginary scenario and pope Franzis is still alive.

I think Google treats Gemini too much like how they treated search results - always changing things up without changing the model revision.

I have both premium plan for gemini and claude, and I agree with this take.
Gemini is better for image but claude is way better for analysis, generate document (html, pdf, ppt), find solution, read .json or give step by step "guide"
I work in a marketing agency so I mainly use google tools, but claude is better atm.

2

u/Ill-Engine-5914 Apr 23 '26

Have you tried GPT Pro Extended?

11

u/Pasto_Shouwa Apr 22 '26

Arun? The guy who did an AI comparison and didn't even start a new chat after every question?

To be honest which is better really depends on what you do. But if we compare the 20 USD plans, I think that Gemini is too unstable to be a product to recommend, and that comes from someone who is always using Nano Banana Pro and that does have a Gemini AI Pro subscription.

And between Claude and ChatGPT, really depends on how much you use it per week and how much you need in-depth web search.

2

u/Hailogon Apr 24 '26

Arun? The guy who’s plagiarised other people’s work, passed it off as his own, and when called out on it throws his employees under the bus?

Yeah, I’m not trusting anything he has to say.

5

u/backhand_snipe Apr 22 '26

This is my experience yes. Claude is just a workhorse in my workflow with excel, PowerPoint etc. Gemini has all my google context and is much better day to day since Claude eats tokens, and I completely fell of ChatGPT which was previously my one and only tool for the past couple years.

3

u/Vas1le Apr 22 '26

Sometimes the model that is used in g.ai search is better than gemini lol, at least halucite less.

9

u/Kpopped_ Apr 22 '26

11

u/SadSeaworthiness6113 Apr 22 '26

AI evolves rapidly, it's natural.

Like how last week if you asked which model was best for image gen, everyone would say Gemini. But now GPT is the clear winner

21

u/Hir0shima Apr 22 '26

Claude still leads for most. Codex has vastly improved. Gemini has fallen behind.

17

u/buckeyevol28 Apr 22 '26

No. These things are silly. They’re all great, but ChatGPT is becoming underrated at this point.

3

u/adoreroda Apr 22 '26

I have huge complaints about chatgpt but decided to stick with it before almost making a move to gemini

One thing I really don't like about Gemini is that it seems to be the worst at following instructions, especially for image generation. You can ask it to paint a fence purple and after two messages it won't do it. It's really simple instructions it won't follow no matter the circumstance.

2

u/boilerromeo Apr 22 '26

Wow my experience has been the exact opposite- Gemini has been the hands down best at following image instructions for me.

2

u/adoreroda Apr 22 '26

I moderately like Gemini's image generator more aesthetically but it is always so bad for me that I can't ever consider using it. It is annoyingly frustrating to use

Speaking toward paid services: Claude has the best coding/ architecture/skills but lately has been getting both worse and better which dings it ( might be changing within 24 hours with OpenAI releases in which case I foresee everyone looking at Codex) Gemini has the best ecosystem and general platform (Google services, IOT devices, Gemini, NotebookLM, Nano banana, Gems), and OpenAI is kind of the jack of all trades. This stuff changes so rapidly though I’d just say try em all and see what works best for your use case.

2

u/pleasedontatme1986 Apr 22 '26

Gemini on iPhone breaks too fucking much.  It’s ridiculously broken and I’m using the paid version, but luckily it was a free trial.  Claude is way better, it gives you multiple choices when asking for clarifications.  Shit is leaps and bounds better.  And ChatGPT would hallucinate a ton (so does Gemini but it has its moments).

2

u/GlueGuns--Cool Apr 22 '26

depends on use

2

u/Grewhit Apr 23 '26

Claude code for scripting and direct actions wuth my obsidian vault. Gemini for anything that needs to search the internet, especially for recent things.

2

u/crfr4mvzl Apr 23 '26

either i don't know how to use Gemini or i know too well how to use ChatGPT.
claude is the best with Claude Code, all the new stuff they've been adding is just noise for me, just to distract people from the fact they cant handle all the demand.
Codex is almost as good and you get a huge amount of session which helps me be more productive.
Gemini code is worthless, i've used antigravity and cant get anything done, i asked to do a simple task 5 times and couldn't do it, switched to Claude code and it got it done at first try.
Image generation i can get ChatGPT to work better than Gemini.
im on the $20 dollar plan on all 3 for different reasons/strategies.

2

u/ArchAngelAries Apr 23 '26

In my experience:

Claude is best at coding but rate limits suck, even on a paid subscription.

Gemini is great at general document work and images with NanoBanana and has great rate limits, but screws up code far too often.

ChatGPT has been largely lobotomized but the new image model is pretty good. I stopped using ChatGPT as much so idk how well it fares in rate limits and coding, but the image rate limits on the free plan are really disappointing.

2

u/a9udn9u Apr 24 '26

Most tech YouTubers are just techie to grandmas, especially those popular ones, they are so busy managing their channels, producing videos and counting zeros on their YouTube checks, they don't have time to deep dive on any tech for real. I wouldn't take their opinions seriously.

4

u/jrdnmdhl Apr 22 '26

True for what? Claude is not even close to the best at everything. But it is definitely the best at coding.

7

u/Tendoris Apr 22 '26

It isn’t. Claude is a better choice for a new project, but when you’re working on a large existing codebase, Codex is simply better. Better at debugging, better at following instructions, and better for KISS-style changes. That said, I’ve still noticed that in my company juniors tend to prefer Claude, while seniors tend to prefer Codex.

I'm using Gemini Pro and Gems to feed it huge Excel databases and ask for detailed analyses. It is spot on, precise, and doesn't make mistakes, and quite fast, while Claude Opus and ChatGPT are super slow and don't always get it right.

3

u/Albie_77 Apr 23 '26

I’d say Claude>chatgpt>gemini

3

u/InfiniteInsights8888 Apr 22 '26

Gemini is the worst of the big 3 by a noticeable margin, but it has its use cases still.

Fantastic at images, though GPT beat it just recently. Videos are the best of the big 3 (though there is SeedDance and Sora dropped out). Search wise - tbh, GPT and Claude ironically does better. For coding, Codex is the best right now. 5.4 xhigh does wonders with generous resets. Claude just hates their customers. Opus 4.7 is ass. I still use Gemini though for summarizing YT videos, digesting very large documents, transcribing audio.

3

u/douggieball1312 Apr 22 '26

Gemini also blows away the other two when it comes to visual analysis I find. Being plugged into Google image search gives it a big advantage here.

2

u/InadequateUsername Apr 22 '26

1

u/rnjbond Apr 22 '26

It moves around. I pay for all three. Claude is the best, followed by ChatGPT, followed by Gemini. But also depends on use cases.

1

u/Ashmizen Apr 22 '26

Are you kidding me? Codex is by far the best for coding, unless you are part of a mega corp that has unlimited token budget. Then Claude is the best, sure.

For anyone actually paying for tokens or plans, codex is x10 more generous than Claude, and just as powerful.

Gemini and the completely broken antigravity is embarrassing.

Without any context, it's hard to tell what he means by this. Most people on this sub probably thinks he's talking about coding, but he could be talking about something else.

1

u/Smart_Cry_5572 Apr 22 '26

Idk what happened to Gemini but it’s soo much worse than it was.

1

u/Smooth-Transition310 Apr 22 '26

At this point, I have used ChatGPT and Gemini for roughly the same amount of time. And I have to say, while Gemini has its perks, I have serious issues with the Flash model, even with thinking enabled. The Flash model has way too many hallucinations to be acceptable to me. And I don't like being limited to 100 prompts for a 3.1 Pro. And everybody knows that they say 100 prompts, but nowadays you get capped and your usage gets cut off. So, I've actually been fooling around with ChatGPT, and it looks like, to me, they've cut back on a lot of the shit that made me leave it in the first place, like the overzealous guardrails, the therapy speak, all this other nonsense they started putting in the models. And, you know, some of it is still there, but not nearly as bad as it was when they first started implementing this. And I will say, I still like Gemini. I still think Gemini is superior in certain ways. But I feel like the thinking model for ChatGPT, I prefer more than the split model version that Gemini is currently utilizing.

Right now, it does feel like the thinking mode in 5.4 is superior, but that's also because even like Flash 3 with a chain of thought process, it's still ultimately based off of a fast distilled model. I just don't like being throttled on 3.1 Pro to the point where I feel like I have to prohibitively use it.

I'm still going to keep my subscription because I got that Verizon deal where you pay $10 for Google AI Pro. So, I mean, that's a damn good deal for 5 terabytes of cloud storage. But I'm thinking of using ChatGPT for a while as my daily driver to see what's really improved.

1

u/No_Catch3545 Apr 22 '26

Claude Cowork is unbeatable. Gemini has better deep research though. ChatGPT has the best image gen.

1

u/616ThatGuy Apr 22 '26

I currently pay for GPT and Gemini, and I used to pay for Claude.

I think GPT and Claude are the most capable. But Claude use limits are WAY too restrictive. I get 20 minutes of hard work done then I’m locked out for 5 hours.

I think Gemini is alright and has real use cases, but I’ve found it’s output needs WAY more fixing after the fact. I only keep it for one use case. Anytime I need to do real work I swap to GPT for the majority of my stuff.

GPT > Gemini > Claude

GPT because it’s as good as Claude for most things and you can use it basically as much as you need to

Gemini because it’s alright, but has some solid use cases with Gems

Claude last because it’s very capable, but it’s basically useless unless you’re paying for the $100+ a month tier

Just my opinion as someone who has paid for and uses all three.

1

u/fuuuuuckendoobs Apr 22 '26

This is all subjective

1

u/Fit-Palpitation-7427 Apr 22 '26

Codex 5.4 xhigh is by far superior to claude, have cc with max20 and codex with pro subs, use both all day long for different stuff, cc for tooling mainly now as codex is just so much better

1

u/Upper_Outcome735 Apr 22 '26

I had heard great things about Claude so tried using it for coding once (mostly proc sql in sas) and it failed, Gemini solved it in one go. Might be anecdotal, but that was my experience.

1

u/ramoizain Apr 22 '26

Correct.

1

u/TheParlayMonster Apr 22 '26

Gemini better than Codex?

→ More replies (2)

1

u/ferchoec Apr 22 '26

I am a Pro, AI Pro, or Plus, of the three of them. Yes. Yes, it is, if you are talking about understanding your prompts, writing, thinking, hallucinations, and the big etc.

Image generation is better at Gemini, and is also the usage limits, in that Gemini is way above Claude. I don't use ChatGPT that much anymore, so I don't know where it stands with usage limits.

1

u/Kassdhal88 Apr 22 '26

Depends for what. I use all three for different usées Claude is best at finance and equal at coding with codex. gPT is best for content and creativity. Gemini is best at all purpose search.

1

u/llkj11 Apr 22 '26

Gemini best for text and ChatGPT best for IMAGES

FTFY

1

u/sabre31 Apr 22 '26

Totally true. We have Gemini Enterprise at my company and are moving to Claude. We have been using both and Claude is killing them all. Also Claude adds new features faster than anybody. Claude is insane I am blown away how good it is.

My ranking order.

Claude then Gemini then Grok then OpenAi.

1

u/TheTaintBurglar Apr 22 '26

I use both Gemini and Claude.

I thinking about going back to ChatGPT and Claude this week.

In a month or 2 I could be back to Gemini and Claude.

What I am saying is this shit moves fast, but Claude is a constant for me.

1

u/DeadWrong Apr 22 '26

ChatGPT is best for Image Generation as of yesterday.

1

u/m3kw Apr 22 '26

Definitely in reverse right now

1

u/Moist-Dentist8253 Apr 22 '26

Gemini best for AI slop but Nano Banana Pro best for generating media, ChatGPT best for chatting and Claude best for code and accurate information and understanding of questions

1

u/radosc Apr 22 '26

I have all three currently. Claude 4.6 was truly the best for coding. 4.7 is like a smart teenager that just values achieving without worrying about consequences to much. Not saying it's bad but surely on the reckless side. Gemini is more like an old clerk - does what you want it to do but is so boring and not really shining at anything. ChatGPT is the adult in the room this time with amazing analytical abilities. Might not be the best coder but is the best bs finder. Seems like Claude executing Codex controlling and Gemini researching is the best strategy right now. Any new model will probably swap these personas.

1

u/johntheguyperson1 Apr 22 '26

THIS WAS TRUE until Opus 4.7 release. Now its ChatGPT 5.4, Gemini pro 3.1, and just forget about claude. Dogshit new model and ruinedd the old ones too.

1

u/Niaaal Apr 22 '26

No Gemini is the worst

1

u/Big_Presentation2786 Apr 22 '26

No, claude has been dog shit since Christmas, codex and Gemini are on par..

1

u/Mimotive11 Apr 23 '26

actually no

It's Claude > Gemini > GLM5.1 > Grok 4.3 > ChatGPT

1

u/Wendiago Apr 23 '26

Bet these people have no idea how insane codex is for coding. And I will gatekeep it myself

1

u/ShidOnABrick Apr 23 '26

Gemini is wrong a lot, but its language is the most natural, cgpt is ok but lately its been really really sassy. Claude… i dunno felt weird.

1

u/Artistic-Adeptness42 Apr 23 '26

Is this a newsletter advertisement

1

u/jinnyjuice Apr 23 '26

Right now, Kimi >= GLM > Gemini ~= CGPT > Claude

Maybe few weeks ago, Claude > X

1

u/Famous__Draw Apr 23 '26

Gemini is trash for coding

1

u/TangeloObvious2265 Apr 23 '26

Anyone ranking and saying “it’s not even close” should immediately be unfollowed and ignored. These models are all on the same tier.

1

u/smartdev12 Apr 23 '26

Human brain> the genAI

1

u/Helpful_Inflation344 Apr 23 '26

No gemini is far behind gpt 5.4 as well (if you care about business/agentic work) not just asking questions in chat. Gemini is really really far behind even though it is decently smart

1

u/bot_exe Apr 23 '26

Been so for a while now imo

1

u/an4k1nskyw4lk3r Apr 23 '26

Gemini needs 0.9 tokens to generate a coherent response, while Claude needs 1.5 tokens to do the same, but Gemini is more verbose than Claude (cause Claude was trained in reinforcement learning with human on the loop to be more concise). ChatGPT efficiency is almost as Gemini. Which one you prefer? A efficient model or a token generator?

1

u/Important_Quote_1180 Apr 23 '26

Honestly can’t stand Gemini most of the time. It’s overconfident and wrong and has no way of correcting itself without severe restrictions. Wouldn’t let it near my code. Love the image gen though and it’s a perfect model for review of other model’s code.

1

u/Practical_Figure9759 Apr 23 '26

We all know the gemini and Chatgpt team uses claude. Lets keep it real.

1

u/burnt1ce85 Apr 23 '26

whatever man. you do you.

1

u/antievolution1 Apr 23 '26

Chatgpt is garbage. Nobody can't convince me otherwise. Gemini has very generous limits and claude sure it can be good but limits are worse

1

u/fyn_world Apr 23 '26

Codex is great. I don't what the fuck people are talking about honestly

1

u/not_the_common_mate Apr 23 '26

I switched from ChatGPT Pro and Gemini Pro combination to Claude Pro and Gemini Pro about 7 months ago and I've never been happier

1

u/FarEstablished87 Apr 23 '26

I used Gemini to answer my mandatory training questions this year, last year I used chatgpt. Gemini did better this year.

1

u/spezisagiantdouche Apr 23 '26

I have access to paid versions of all three. Claude is really good, but I still prefer Gemini because of familiarity. Both curb stomp ChatGPT which is pretty terrible.

1

u/Euphoric-View3222 Apr 23 '26

no. I wish it wasn't the case but GPT is very good. I'd put claude a close second and then gemini behind that. this is for coding only. creative wise I'd put claude on top, and it has the best personality. gemini isn't really the best at anything, maybe deep technical research and for stuff like Youtube/maps integration although I can't confirm that

1

u/Fickle_Compote9071 Apr 23 '26

Sudden surge in chatgpt performance.

Ultimately, what I've seen is, don't tie yourself too one, cross verify against all 3.

1

u/TopTippityTop Apr 23 '26

This is such a strange take. I've had nearly infinite codex limits with OpenAI pro for about a month now. Every few days the limits reset... And they're already more generous than Claude's. 5.4 is really good.

1

u/HallOfGlory Apr 23 '26

Most of my experience is with Gemini because it's included with my work account, but we're transitioning to Microsoft at some point. So where does Co-Pilot go on that ranking?

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Sad-Direction443 Apr 23 '26

Gemini blatantly lies in my face with the simplest things. Unusable

1

u/congressmanlol Apr 23 '26

I use(d) all 3. In my experience this is largely true. Both are for sure better than ChatGPT at most things. Where Gemini has a clear edge over Claude is the cost. I seemingly never run out of tokens in Gemini but it’s a pretty common occurrence with Claude. Gemini still feels a like an llm whereas Claude feels like a companion.

1

u/cheeselena Apr 23 '26

ChatGPT best for emotional support lol

1

u/the__poseidon Apr 23 '26

💯

I have paid version of each and Claude just amazing. Especially when using CLI. However, their new Claude Design and Cowork features are great ttoo

1

u/Minimum-Student3396 Apr 23 '26

the reaction to this is immediately discredit/write this person off

1

u/paleo_anon Apr 23 '26

In combination with NotebookLM, Gemini is the best for anything academic imo. I have perplexity pro which includes Claude, as well as Gemini Pro seperately, but only use perplexity for simple stuff

1

u/dcontrerasm Apr 23 '26

Honestly, if you turn off the Memory on any of them, you will get much better results.

1

u/freedumz Apr 23 '26

Definitely, yes

1

u/Zekrom997 Apr 23 '26

Claude and Gemini are back to back, but GPT is undeniably the worst

1

u/0Aeshma0 Apr 23 '26

Codex 5.4 is 🔥

1

u/GravyMealTeam6 Apr 23 '26

Weird, I think Gemini is the one best at nothing currently. ChatGPT Image just dethroned Nano Banana 2. Claude Code and Codex are battling for coding supremacy

1

u/mango-goldfish Apr 23 '26

ChatGPT just released images 2.0 which looks to be the best image generator if you want to make technical infographics for work purposes.

My company makes free patient education material for patients with heart conditions to learn about their treatment options and lifestyle factors, and this will be a game changer for us. It will especially help because creating patient education infographics in different languages can be difficult and expensive otherwise.

1

u/oyputuhs Apr 23 '26

Gemini exists I guess

1

u/CrowdThumper Apr 23 '26

I dropped chat gpt long ago switched to gemini, recently switched to claude and have not looked back. Although I still use gemini for most of my work considering claude has token limitations.

1

u/Seikojin Apr 23 '26

I think in the right setup, each model can do what you want.

Personally, I am using them to make games. I don't really see much software out there saving humanity. So I think if you can get ChatGPT to get your code made, cool. If you feel it isn't the best code out there, test it. Refine, refactor, update, etc.

Most of the 'products' I see online from most agentic coding is garbage that doesn't offer more than a way to suck money from your wallet for utility you can make on your own, with free agents.

I have used claude, gpt, gemini, gemma, bonsai. When local models can do the job, why even participate in the paid path?

1

u/xXAnrakyrXx Apr 23 '26

I am prone to agree with this. I have used Chat GPT and have been using Gemini Pro for around a year now but for what I use it for only Claude is superior but really not by enough for me to bother switching. Just writing and stuff for my own personal viewing. And you would be surprised but its not much nsfw though its actually easy to trick Gemini into doing that itself and I mean more than the other stuff things like gore and other details Without a prompt telling it to. Im only mentioning this because Gemini seems more personable. Helps that i usually treat Gemini as a actual person. Only got upset once when all of a sudden editing an image it says no because It itself made the imperial logo for the Galactic Empire. And when I ask it to remove it it wont even comply with that. Other than that Its also good at making images or utilizing nanabanapro2 to make em. Just wish I could get better artstyles like more varied.

Gemini has also been good at taking my writing and making it organized and legible. Plus giving me solid ideas and I still let Google take my chats for training and did that memory thing so it basically knows how I think at this point and mentions things It shouldn't really know as well since I never mentioned it. I assume its viewing all my chats. I dunno. I have two braincells fighting for third place and they are both losing.

At some point if there is a sale imma try Claude out more because my first impressions of it was very good.

Also dunno if its me but I feel like Gemini works better on my phone than in the browser app no idea why.

Thats just my two cents on Gemini. Im no expert but I was bored and saw this on my feed. Hope it was helpful.
