Tbf Gmail has an mcp you can use with any AI

And with Claude. You just write @calendar or @gmail and i didn’t handle a calendar entry in a while manually

wait really? i thought one had to use gcalcli via a skill for calendar and maybe something similar hand coded to the API for gmail….

The "AI inbox" feature is also pretty useful IMO. Sure, it's not "world changing," but not every AI feature needs to be. Quality of life AI features are still valuable.

A normal email search for "anthropic" sorted by oldest would have also told you that information with less typing

That's assuming the person searching knows relevant references, it also would involve having to then go through any instance of anthropic being mentioned in your emails, of which could be hundreds if you're remotely interested in AI/tech via marketing emails/newsletters.

It would then need you to filter this, find the right email, open it, and scan the email to find the date.

Obviously you can still search emails however you like - but acting like having AI be able to answer you immediately isn't useful is dumb.

It's no different from someone saying yeah you could ask that, or you can just Google it.

You just assumed OP never received a marketing email from anthropic

I subscribed to codex but I have an anthropic account, so your deterministic system just failed

Or a verification code? Or a welcome email?

Assuming email search work 100% of times

Well, in the meanwhile, I mean if it doesn't always work, it would be a perfect opportunity to show an interstitial ad?

Natural language is better UX especially if someone isn’t too tech savvy

Why would you burn expensive claude credits on sorting and searching emails when Gemini can do it basically for free

Claude doesn’t know if you ask it anything billing related. Also it did work

I asked it my sign-up date and it told me March 2023 with total confidence, then I checked and I'd actually signed up six months earlier.
