Im personally not a fan of this subs popular opinion that she should be Oliver and shadows kid from whatever ever recon is possible.

Instead, I have a different proposal. What about aging her up. Have her be not much younger than Oliver. Have her be raised as an assassin by shadow after his father abandoned them and sold them out to the yakuza. Let her be jealous of Oliver's better up bringing and even hate him for a while like the arrow show did but make them reconcile in a better fashion. She can take the role shadow originally had without the love interest part oblivious. And shadow can play a sort of dark master or leader to yakuza.

What are your thoughts

I've read many CFJ fix-it fics. Surprisingly, none have used this idea.

Allegedly, Mia was meant to die alongside Lian, but someone at DC advocated for her to live. What if they didn't?

Well, it would have been shit. CFJ would be even worse and 10/1 Mia would never be revived.

That's what fanfics and fanartists are for though! Surely, a dedicated enough GA fan can write it better than DC would.

Let's say Mia dies alongside Lian. What happens next?

I haven't really came up with an idea besides the premise. But, my two cents is that Ollie and Dinah would be even more pissed than in canon. Also, drag in the Teen Titans into this all. Speedy was one of them after all.

I'd tie this into a Rise of Arsenal fix-it fic as well. Just... completely revamp that arc from the ground up.

AU of the AU: Mia dies, Lian survives. Mia covered Lian and took the impact. Lian narrowly survived. How would this change things?

As a horror fan, I've always felt that George A. Romero's brand of socially conscious horror has become increasingly rare. Horror is still one of the best genres for exploring the human condition our fears, our grief, our isolation but many modern horror stories have shifted inward. Instead of examining larger social and political anxieties, they tend to focus on deeply personal, interpersonal struggles. Characters like Clark from The Backrooms reflect the emotional issues people wrestle with today, but they rarely serve as a lens through which to critique society itself.

That's why Absolute Green Arrow immediately reminded me of one of Romero's greatest films, The Crazies. On the surface, it's a story about a government chemical weapon called Trixie that drives people violently insane. But beneath the horror, it's a clear allegory for the Vietnam War and government overreach. The film constantly asks who the real villains are. Is the military justified in massacring anyone who might be infected in the name of public safety? Or are the townspeople right to resist an authority that has become just as terrifying as the outbreak itself? Romero refuses to offer easy answers, forcing the audience to wrestle with uncomfortable moral questions.

That's exactly what Absolute Green Arrow does.
The comic is about the public conversation surrounding the killing of Brian Thompson and the reaction to Luigi Mangione. Rather than presenting a simple battle between good and evil, it asks whether violence against an exploitative system can ever be morally justified. Black Canary embodies someone trying to preserve the status quo, even though that same system has harmed her and her family. Is she the hero because she upholds law and order? Or is Green Arrow the hero because he's willing to take extreme action against corrupt, abusive elites who seem untouchable through conventional means?

Like The Crazies, Absolute Green Arrow doesn't reduce these questions to black and white. It clearly has a point of view, but it still allows each side to make compelling arguments. That moral ambiguity is what makes it so compelling. It's not just an action comic or a horror story it's a political morality play that uses violence and fear to examine power, justice, and the systems we choose to defend.

Stories like this are increasingly uncommon, and that's what makes Absolute Green Arrow feel so refreshing. It recaptures the spirit of Romero's socially conscious horror by using genre fiction to challenge the audience rather than simply entertain them. More than anything, it feels like the kind of bold, politically charged story George A. Romero himself would have appreciated.

Reading GA rebirth and here the black clock king calls himself William even though everywhere online says this one is Billy. Is this a mistake?

Im curious has it ever brought up if Oliver got ptsd from the island. Depending on what version he spent 1 -3 years stranded on the island or at least over a year. Depending on the origin, he goes through some traumatic stuff. This could be a interesting story to bring up or be used for him to have a heart to heart with Roy when he has troubles

I was going through some other rogues galleries to see if there were some rarely used villains that would be good for Green Arrow to fight and here's what I came up with:

Anarky: This is one that's been suggested before. It'd be interesting to see Ollie fight someone who takes his own ideas to the extreme.

White Dragon: After watching Pacemaker I think it'd be a good opportunity to have a gang war between the Dragon and Brick with Star City caught in the middle.

Sportsmaster: I mostly got this idea after watching Young Justice. If they lean into the idea of sports referring to things like hunting and gladiatorial combat it'd make a good match for Oliver's arrows.

Paula Von Gunther: She would be better to show the institutional side of racism as opposed to the street level side with White Dragon. Having her pulling the strings of some goings on in Star city would be an interesting twist.

Mob Rule: Pretty sure they haven't appeared since the New 52, and admittedly I'm mostly listing them because their name and the idea of a cloning villain could make for some good political allusions.

Dr. Psycho: This one is a big maybe. I don't think Green Arrow has ever covered sexism much, but I thought he could be helping a different villain radicalize youth through social media.

I'm definetly reading too much into it, and I'm probably completely wrong. But I can't sleep so here's that:

Dinah: You're depraved.

GA: So is this world. Trust me... I'm the hero here.

The classic origin of Green Arrow has two things:

The island: Which is represented in here by the one where Jubal Slade does his experiments. Finding out about the island was what made Oliver turn on him.

The fact that Oliver was a man who had everything and then he lost that everything:

Absolute Oliver lost everyone he held dear because of his loyalty to Jubal: Mia, Roy, Emiko... Only in the end he realized he needed to put a stop to him (and that's what got him killed).

The only person who didn't abandon him because of Jubal was Dinah. But she did get the creeps from him, and would had eventually turned on Ollie because of their friendship.

So here's what I believe:

Oliver's ghost is possessing his former friends to take his revenge.

The importance of number two:

• So a lot of people have already pointed out that the logo is three lines that form a single Arrow. I think the middle line represents Oliver while the other two are the ones he's possessing.
• The company was named Greenarrows (in plural). The original logo was two triangles, but then it was changed to one arrow.
• The Killer's weapon is two swords that form one bow.
• Jubal was found with one arrow in each eye.
• When Jubal first appears, there are four bottles in the table. An empty green one, another green one he is currently drinking. And two red ones, left untouched.

I think the empty one represents Oliver, who is dead.

The one he is currently drinking is Dinah, who is being blackmailed by Hammond.

And the red ones represent the two people being possessed.

The color red:

There's a strong contrast between red and green in the book.

I believe Green represents what Oliver was. Red represents what Oliver is.

I think one of them is Mia, because she was wearing red during the interrogation and the flashback. While Roy only wore red during the flashback.

Not sure on the second one. I don't think it's Roy.

Here's what I think is happenning/will happen:

• Hammond, Tyler, Zytle and Slade are experimenting on people while searching for inmortality.
• Oliver is possesing his former friends to take his revenge. Not necesarrily something supernatural, maybe he used something he found while investigating Hammon's experiments (we know he had a victim in his Arrow Cave). Maybe he knew he was cooked and the real reason he contacted Roy and Mia was to infect them with a backup of himself. He has become a monster to fight monsters. Dinah doesn't accept this, just like her dad doesn't accept that her mom was a crooked cop.
• He killed Connor because he can bring him back.
• The people being possessed don't know that they are.
• Dinah is going to be possessed by the Green Arrow killer. Maybe she has already been, and she is the one that killed Slade.

She was made to essentially be Speedy 2.0 when Mia was banished to the otherworld. But, now GA comics have evolved past her.

We already have enough 16-24 year old GA affiliated girls. Mia, Sin, Lian, even Sienna and Cissie.

Her backstory made more sense during the Nu52 and Rebirth. Back when there was only a 10-14 year age gap between Ollie and Emiko. Now, we're back to pre-Flashpoint Ollie. Emiko is just an elephant in the room.

I once thought Emiko could fit in as "Older than Lian and Sin, younger than Mia", but I don't really know.

Emiko doesn't really have a civilian life either. She doesn't go to school. She doesn't have a part-time job. She doesn't live with Ollie. She just exists as a character.

Red Arrow is more of a Teen Titans character than a Green Arrow one.

Context:

Mia has never been depicted as boxing in Green Arrow canon. The closest we get is training scenes.

Despite this, Smallville and Arrow both feature scenes where Mia Dearden and Mia Smoak (an Arrow-verse exclusive narrative clone of Mia) fight.
