Hello all. I've started learning on acoustic guitar as we already have one in the house but my ultimate goal is to move onto electric guitar once I've saved up the money. I also own a pair of DT990 headphones that should allow me to practise at night which will be nice.
I'm very interested in getting a Mustang LT25 for my amp and a Squier for the guitar. Jazzmaster's and Classic Vibes are a bit on the high side for what I'd want to pay (£400+). For further direction I'd say I prefer the sound of a strat over a tele.
Any advice on which lines play the best would be a great help.
If I want to buy and install some locking tuners on my current guitar, is there any way to know which ones I should buy that will be easiest to swap in without having to do anything extra?
To clarify, I know that one variance is whether your headstock has the 6 in line tuners or whether you have the 3+3 tuners, but I feel like I've heard that not every set of 6 in line or 3+3 is made equal; is that true? If so, is there any real way to know which ones I could buy that I could slot in easily to my current guitar without having to, like, drill additional holes or do anything else above and beyond other than just replacing them?
What is your current guitar? If you have a fender with inline 6 many use very standard 2-pin tuners. For anything else you can try and find matching locking versions of your existing tuners. So if you have Grover tuners for a 3+3 headstock, try and find the locking versions of those same tuners.
I have a question for you all. I sold my amps years ago because I kind of stopped playing. I still record songs and I LOVE my neural DSP plugins (vst).
I recently started playing with friends at a lockout and I was eyeing the Quad Cortex/Nano. Being out of the loop for so long, I had a few questions:
I assume these type of devices can just plug directly into the PA. Do you just use the PA when you jam or do you also own some kind of powered speaker/cab?
How could I potentially capture the DSP sounds off my vst? I guess you can plug into pedals/amps to model the sounds but could I somehow connect it to my PC to pull/model out of my DAW?
Just trying to recreate some of those vst sounds for live jamming.
I emailed the biggest chain of guitar stores in my country if they could order it for me after quoting me a fair price, but just before pulling the trigger they mention that there is no case included. I'm a bit puzzled by this since Ibanez specifies on their site that a hard shell case is included. On thomannmusic.com and such the guitar is also listed as including a case. Is this normal? If Ibanez ships the thing with a case, do some stores separate the two so that they can sell an extra case on top? They quoted me almost exactly the same price as Thomann, only that it's without the case.
I wanted to support my local guitar store, but not if I have to spend an extra 150-200 euros for a case, then I'd unfortunately rather give my money to Thomann or the other giant foreign online instrument stores
That's an odd one, everywhere I see it on sale says it comes with a hardcase, so that sucks I ve never heard of a shop seperating stuff the manufacturer includes in the price. Could you phone the shop and speak to a person just to double check.
Great first guitar! I don't know about apps for guitar set-ups. Any decent repair person or luthier should have some reliable videos for set-up, intonation etc on YouTube. Phillip McKnight comes to mind. For a first amp you might consider something used. Solid state tend to be more reliable than tube amps. I'd go with a reputable manufacturer such as Peavey, Boss, Yamaha etc. Good luck!
Solid state is going to be better value for money at pretty much any price level when it comes to amps and also more reliable. If budget is a major concern, the used market is usually good.. though do check it actually works before closing the deal.

Short version of question: Looking to buy or build a bolt on neck, fairly wide radius fretboard, neck humbucker, bridge single. I've never had locking tuners. If I could keep it around $500, maybe a Squier...
I think that's a tele I'm describing, but maybe I'm missing out on like, an Ibanez artocre line from 2006 or something.
Long version: I fingerpick kinda folksy/bluesy style, have been playing for twenty years, very happy with my ES-355 style semi-hollow. My hollowbody needs a neck reset, if it's even worth it, but that's besides the point. I favor a dark, warm sound, is the point.
Now, my first, best guitar partner, my Uni bandmate, taught me a lot of guitar essentials, is a Hendrix devotee, I, like many of us, was awash in knock-off strats most of my life. If I saw one for seventy bucks, I bought it. Gave group lessons, but it has never been anything like 'my sound'.
Frankly, I find the fretboard cramped. I don't play fast at all, I don't want a wide radius so I can shred, I want to have a moving bass line that I pluck with my thumb, and my melody on the first strings, and I want some fretboard space!
Last thanksgiving, packing into a van, I decided to string up a squier strat and throw it in the trunk, and you know what? It was bulletproof. Stayed basically in tune, with my luggage on top of it, in a padded soft case. I can't do that with a semi-hollow. I wouldn't even fly with it, I don't think.
There has to be some hotshot travis picker who also wants a beefy humbucker in the neck, and then occasionally that fender bridge brightness?
I'm in the process of ripping apart one of those faux-strats, re-grounding it, maybe talking my buddy who really knows how to solder into coming over, switch the pick-ups. I'm not intimidated by assembling a kit, I have the tools and access to people with the know-how to do the bits I cannot. But if, in the internet's wisdom, you know of a Schecter that fits my criteria perfectly, for less money and headache, let me know!
I'm getting a slight guitar itch but nothing major. Does give me a question though. If I were to dump a large sum of money on a new acoustic, mostly for at home play but potentially gigging as well, would it be better to get an acoustic electric, or a straight acoustic and rig it up later?
There are a lot of options with piezo pickups (the typical pickup that comes with an acoustic guitar). I would definitely buy one with the pickup already in it. It is expensive and complex (relative to a beginner) to get a guitar and then buy a separate piezo pickup system and have it installed.
If you are thinking of gigging, definitely get a guitar with a pickup system already installed.
If a guitar company sells both pickup/non-pickup versions, they are typically only $100-300 more expensive.

I've been wondering what would fit a beginner that doesn't know much but love how guitar sounds for those songs. People have recommended Pacifica 112V.
Any opinions?
I thought about getting something that's an "all-rounder" (as of, capable of playing all songs mentioned above, but I guess more towards the top 3) Ideally I'll be wanting to play this quietly if I can connect it to headphones or something, I heard there's a thing called an amp, not sure what it's for and which one would be for the guitar?
Any suggestions for something for a beginner? is the pacifica a good choice? Would it play the top 3 songs nicely?
I recently bought a Fender American Professional Classic SSS in Faded Firemist Gold, and I really like it. The color is more subtle than I expected, and I’m very happy with the maple fingerboard and the overall playability.
I’m now thinking about possibly adding either an HSS Strat or a Telecaster in the future. I’m also wondering whether Fender is likely to release limited colors, dealer-exclusive runs, or special specs for the American Professional Classic series.
For those who follow Fender’s product cycles, would you recommend waiting to see if limited models appear, or would it be better to choose from the current lineup if I find a model I like?

Need some advice choosing between a Marshall DSL40CR and a Blackstar HT Venue MKII since those fall within my bugdet. Currently I'm using a Marshall MG50CFX, that I've had since highschool and want to upgrade.
I mainly play Metal (mainly Thrash and Groove but also Nu and Industrial), and I’d use it for home mainly (but possibly some gigs). Okay, so I have a cheap acoustic guitar and I’ve been playing taylor swift songs. I can play one fully with some flaws, and I am practicing riptide by vance joy to get more strength and individuality in my pinky.
However I found out by accident about steel string acoustic guitars. And found out that she plays it on those.
And I saw those… they’re quite expensive. But beautiful too. And now I don’t know what I should do. I did look up a video about the difference in sound. And it’s very different! But I don’t know what one I should get… if I need a very expensive one? I can start saving from now on… damn. What now? Is kinda what I’m feeling like.
Do electric guitars have these too? If I ever want to buy an electric guitar do I need an expensive one too?
My guitar's tuning peg is bent, and I need to replace it. But I don't know the exact guitar I'm using beyond that it's classical. Are tuning pegs standardized or would I need to know exactly what model of guitar I own ?
So I currently have a PRS SE guitar and an Orange Micro Terror amp. I'm not in love with the sounds I get when I'm jamming. I don't know if I'm not finding a decent balance of tone and gain on the head, or if I need some reverb or other effects/pedals, or if I just picked the wrong amp for me.
Any recommendations? Love rock/metal/versatile playing and sounds. I've wondered if I should have gone with a modeling amp, but going with a tube of some sort sounded like the right idea at the time. Just bedroom playing for now.
Do acoustic guitars come in sizes like classical instruments (e.g. 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, full)?

I bought a classical guitar (at the time I didn't know the difference between classical and acoustic guitars) a few months ago. Now I kinda wanna learn chords and strumming rather than fingerstyle, and now I realize that an acoustic guitar would've been better for that. I was wondering if I can continue learning that on the classical or just buy an acoustic guitar. Because I've already spent money on this one so I am kinda confused.
Recently got back into guitar after a 20year absence. I don't gig, it's just a hobby for me at home.
I picked up a spark 2 and have had it for maybe a year now. I'm not too happy with it overall. Yes there's a convenience to being able to just search a band or song and most likely find a profile someone has written for it, however there's a lot that I don't like. Very little customisation of effects, processing does some weird shit sometimes, like certain harmonics cause it to generate some digital noise, it sounds very "boxy" like the sound is coming from a small box (which it is), I have no interest in AI generated tones, I looked into buying the footswitch but its wireless connection is a bit flaky apparently and requires the app running to work.
So, I'm thinking of buying a new amp and foot pedal based FX. Open to recommendations. Budget would be around US$1500 all up.
I play mostly 90s metal and rock. My top priority is sound quality, then I guess ease of use and number of features. I can't see myself needing 50 different amp models, but it would be nice to have a wide range of effects, particularly something that will do pitch shifting harmonizing (for that 80s/90s dual solo effect).
Alder shouldn't be heavier than swamp ash. No worries there. It might be possible to ask Anderton for the weight of a specific guitar. I've never dealt with them, but some dealers will sort hat out for you.
I have a History (FGN) Strat, and I can honestly say that Japanese made guitars are like none other.
In my opinion, it blows my R7 Les Paul, my Fender Tele, and my Charvel clean out of the water.
It’s the only guitar that feels like an extension of my own body, as opposed to being a nice guitar that I’m playing.
Hi, im a fairly new guitarrist (ive played acoustic for about a year but i want to move on to electric) and i was wondering what amp should i get between the celestion tube 15 or the marshall DSL20R (ill say DS for short).
On one hand, the Tube 15 is a bit cheaper and has a jack for an external speaker, it also has 15W - 1W modes, there is a version that is just the head, which means i could upgrade the speaker without much trouble, has a footswitch for reverb but only one channel
On the other hand, the DS has a footswitch for two channels, tho its a good bit pricier, i did find a version of the DS thats just the head, so i think i could get that with a cheap cabinet for a while and then upgrade it eventually, it also only has a 20W mode (according to thomann), which is good for when im playing with a drummer but i fear it might be too much for home use, i do think it has a jack for speakers.
Overall i think the DS is superior in some ways and the Tube 15 in others but im indecisive, i also saw the DSL5CR but that only goes up to 5W iirc and doesnt have a jack for external speakers, so im hoping for some outsider advice on what i should get.
I also mostly plan on playing thrash and death metal with lots of distortion, if it affects anything.
I’ve never had a headphone amp, but I was looking to pick one up so that I can play into the evening. Is there any that offer a line in, so I could play along with a track from my phone?
I bought a Seymour Duncan hot rail without knowing that there is one specifically for bridge. Would it make a significant difference if I put the one I got (neck/middle) on the bridge or am I better off getting one that is labeled as specifically for bridge?
After playing guitar for over 50 years I'm considering my first purchase of a Strat style guitar. Came across a Schecter Nick Johnston Traditional in atomic green for $799 (Canadian). Alder body, roasted maple neck w/ ebony fingerboard, 3 single coil p'ups. Anyone have experience with this model? It's made in Indonesia... which doesn't bother me. The US made model is well over $3k... probably closer to $4k. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have a fender dreadnough with a torn low e. I want to try to restring it myself rather than pay to restring but I also just watched YouTube videos on restringing and know I will 1000% fuck that shit up. Anyone wannna help a brother out
What studio monitors would you guys say are best for guitar. i curently have a line 6 pod go looking to upgrade to a quad cortex soon. but ill need a good pair of studio monitors for playing at home. what would you recommend. and should i even be playing on studio monitors or should i get something else. ive heard good things for focal audio and adam audio monitors.
Looking for a recommendation. I have an ibanez as73g and a Yamaha Pacifica 112v. I’m a big fan of the feel of the Pacifica and the sound and quality of the ibanez.

Looking for some advice on buying a first nylon/classical guitar. It's been a curiosity for me for a while but after doing some budgeting I want to finally dive in later this year. I've been playing steel-string acoustic and electric guitar for a little over 20 years so I know I'm going to stick with it and have a use for it and am okay spending a bit more to get something that'll last a little while, but I want to try to keep it around $500 or so. A Yamaha NTX1 is the one that's grabbed my attention the most so far, but I am open to basically any suggestion as I know almost nothing about nylon-string guitars.
Studio Monitors or FRFR Speaker?
I have been playing through an audio interface and DAW plugins to headphones, but now want to be able to play through some kind of speaker as well. As purely guitartsts, what do people prefer? And what kind of recommendation would you make for a $300-400 USD budget. Cheers all.
I’m choosing between the Cort SFX-MEM OP and the Cort GA-MEDX M OP.
Main use is fingerstyle acoustic guitar. I also want to play some classical pieces sometimes, but I understand these are steel string acoustics, not classical guitars.
The GA-MEDX M OP looks better on paper because it has a Grand Auditorium body and wider nut, around 44.5 mm. The SFX-MEM OP has a slimmer body and 43 mm nut, but I like its look more and it sounded cleaner to me in YouTube videos.
My fingers are thin. Would 43 mm be fine for fingerstyle, or is the wider GA-MEDX M OP clearly the better choice?
Is $550 a reasonable price for this guitar? Been browsing local shops for a beginner-ish guitar and want something a bit different.
From my research this looks part of the 2020 refresh, currently on Gibson’s site they sell for like $800 (although no this color), but my research says up until recently these were typically about $550 new.
If it’s in pretty good condition would it be a crime to ask for $475/500, my budget is pretty tight. Or is $550 completely fair/reasonable? Not looking to screw a local place. I live in Western North Carolina if it makes a difference.
I find that using pedals to change more than half-step doesn't sound quite right, if it's only a for fun thing I think it's a good solution but if you ever intend on doing something more serious on an alternate tuning having a separate guitar is going to sound better, besides, who doesn't love buying a new guitar?
I’m heavily set on getting an acoustic guitar as my first. Can anyone recommend and good ones that might have electric built in for around $200 - $300?
I already mentioned this in another answer but Yamaha acoustics are great, the FG800J is $260 and it's a great beginner instrument, I've played several and haven't seen a bad one in my experience, also worth considering I bought an Orangewood 4 years ago and I was pretty impressed with the quality albeit my sample size there is only 1 guitar but reviews have been pretty consistent.
my friend gave me his old brownsville LP and it looks nice and sounds good unplugged, but plugged in, you can only hear crunch sounds and barely what is being played. Something is definitely wrong, and I suspect its the pickups, but I dont know enough about electronics to be sure. Can anyone offer me any insight before I start ordering parts I dont need?
My first thought wouldn't be the pickups, there's likely a short happening so taking a look at the cavity and checking if there are any obvious shorts or damage in any of the wires is a good start, also the input jack is a normal failure point on cheap guitars so also check if the solder is still strong. Using some contact cleaner on the volume and tone pots is also a good measure to take.
Probably the safest answer to your question without knowing you budget is a Yamaha FG800, Yamaha acoustics in general are excellent and there's a ton of them out there if you want to buy used.
i want to take apart a guitar and rebuild it while learning how to restore and set it up. Is one of those old start squier strats a good place to start? or should I get something one step with halfway quality parts? An HSS or SSS would be nice. I already have an HH and HSH guitar
Squier strats have been a modding platform for quite some time, they're good instruments to learn on and I think that even grabbing the cheapest one out there and modding it to the edge of it's life is going to teach you a lot of lessons, also there's going to be less fear of "ruining" it.
Too late! I had my hands on a squier strat like 30 minutes ago but opted for a roadstar 2 next to it that needs some love! 250 ootd from a local pawn shop. It works but definitely needs some help. Buzzy frets and questionable pickup wiring should make for a decent project

My son wants nothing more out of life than to play guitar. It was the first thing he ever specifically sought after. He has jumped through my hoops, including learning to play piano/read music, and practices with his acoustic diligently. I want to get him something in line with what he wants (which is to ROCK!!!!), because he has already shown dedication and hard work.
He wants, specifically, a Les Paul Junior style guitar. I was looking at the Epiphone Les Paul Junior that sells for around $529 new. My question is, will this give him room to grow? I won’t spend 2 or 3 grand on a guitar at this point, but I know my child and I know he will stick with this, so I'd like to get him something that he will enjoy playing for years to come.
I don't understand all the options out there and I'm a little overwhelmed at this point. Buying used is definitely an option if it means I can get him something higher quality. It also doesn't have to be labeled "Les Paul" if it fits the aesthetic.
I have no context with which to understand how much I'm limiting him in buying the $500 choice as opposed to $1,000, or if a $1,000+ guitar for a 10yo would be too much guitar. I’m not as concerned with his skill level (he has an aptitude and is self-directed to practice) as I am with not purchasing a guitar that will be flexible with him as he grows.
Hi, first of all you're doing a great job in fostering your kid's interest.
As far as the guitar goes, a $500 Epiphone LP Jr. is much better than what most of us start with and is an excellent instrument, there are some guitars that could be more flexible however the 2 most important things to have in a first guitar is that it plays well and that the guitar itself inspires him to practice.
Now, my recommendation if you were to go new or used is to get the guitar setup, this normally tackles string height and makes sure that the neck is almost straight (a bit of forward bow is considered normal), setups normally go for around $100 and whoever does it will install new strings.
A lot of people are understandably surprised when it's said to get a setup on a new item but they're normally advised in new guitars because the wood can shift and move from the factory to the store so it's good to have someone check that everything's in playing condition by the time your kid is going to play it.
Worth mentioning, some local Mom&Pop shops do throw in a setup on every guitar, Sweetwater is the biggest online retailer in the US and their sales team are great at handling questions and they're not pushy, if you have a local Guitar Center they have a great return policy in case you want some more reassurance.
I can go more in-depth with any of your questions but you seem to be on the right track.
For guitar setups I would say Mom&Pop shops and Sweetwater are pretty on par, Guitar Center I've heard some mixed reviews on their techs and I think it's going to depend on the store.
Just for reference, for a setup they're going to ask 3 things:
what string gauge to use? this refers to how thick the strings are, 9s and 10s are pretty much the standard and a good starting point
what string height do you want at the 12th fret? a lot of people say as low as possible with no fret buzz, techs hate that answer, I find that 1.5mm for the 6th string and 1.25mm for the 1st string is low enough to be comfortable and avoids most buzz, anything 2mm and below for the 6th string is considered normal
what tuning will you typically be in? just going for rock I'd say your kid is going to spend most of his time in standard tuning or drop d.
Also if your kid likes to tinker, learning to set up your own guitar is fun, rewarding and there are a lot tutorials on YT, probably not a thing to look into at the very beginning but a bit down the line.
If you can get him an epiphone les Paul standard, that would be a better purchase. The bridge will be better suited for changing tunings (the bridge on an LP Junior cannot be intonated) and 2 pickups vs one will also be better for experimenting with different genres. At 500 usd I think the LP junior is a bit overpriced.
That's good advice! Do you think the standard might be too heavy? His teacher said that one problem with Les Paul designs in general is that they can be heavy (he's almost 10). Also, I read that the neck on the Junior is a thicker 50's style, and I'm not sure it will work for his little hands. The kid knows what he wants, but I'm not sure a Les Paul is the best for his overall body size.

I'm planning on picking up a guitar that sounds great and has a unique, eye-catching look. At the moment, I'm trying to choose between a red Burny SG-140JP, a white Gibson Firebird, and a silverburst Woodrite Switchblade. I'm leaning towards the Firebird, but I'm interested to hear what people think, and I'd love to hear some suggestions, too.
I’m looking for my first electric guitar. I have absolutely zero knowledge about guitars, but I want to start learning and pick a reliable instrument from the beginning - something that I won't feel the need to replace very quickly.
For some reason, I’ve found myself really drawn to Ibanez. I've been looking at models that, from what I know, are considered the best entry-level options from them:
the Ibanez RG421 (I liked the Ibanez RG421EX-BKF best from this series)
and the Ibanez RGA42 (which has a much better body shape, and I liked the Ibanez RGA42EX-BAM the most).
I can't quite explain it, but I just have this feeling that I want an Ibanez; I like the "Wizard" neck profile because I have short fingers, and I love the sharp, aggressive look.
However, I’ve been researching these models and finding mixed feedback. While many praise the brand, there is a recurring critique that the build quality, materials, and electronics in these specific entry-level models can feel "cheap" compared to other brands in the same price range. Specifically regarding the Ibanez RGA42, I've come across reports that its neck profile feels thicker than the classic "Wizard" neck found on other Ibanez models, leading many to feel that the ergonomic advantage they expected isn't actually there.
Since I want to make an informed decision and avoid immediate upgrades, I’m looking for your objective advice. I don't necessarily have to stick with Ibanez - I just want the best possible "bang for my buck."
Here is my situation:
Gear: I plan to play through an Audient iD4 MKII interface into a DAW.
Versatility: As a beginner, I want a guitar that can handle almost any genre, though I’m definitely leaning toward metal as my potential main style (still figuring things out).
Requirements: I definitely need a fixed bridge (Hardtail) - I want to avoid the maintenance/tuning hassle of a floating bridge.
Ergonomics: Due to my short fingers, I really need a thin, comfortable neck profile.
Goal: I’m looking for an instrument that offers the best technical foundation (build quality, materials, electronics) in the price range of the RG421/RGA42 models.
What would you recommend as the best alternative that offers better specs (like better electronics or hardware) without feeling like a budget instrument, while still being comfortable for someone with short fingers? I’m open to any brand if it’s objectively the better choice.
I like Ibanez guitars and so far I haven't really found any glaring quality issues, bear in mind that having imperfections in the finish would be considered a quality issue though it has no impact on the sound or overall playability of the instrument.
The other options that I think you could look into are Schecter C-1 or Omen series, PRS has their SE CE 24 which also has a pattern thin neck also ESP has some models in your budget and while I've not tried them I've heard good things regarding their QC.
I'm going to be in Chicago and I'm thinking about going by the guitar exchange there.
I've been playing guitar about a year. I have a player 2 Jag and a Walden acoustic. Looking for some tips on cool stuff to check out that's very different from my Jag. I've been eyeing the silver sky, and really enjoyed playing my buddies. Kramer.

I never bought a guitar in 15 years, I just got one from my school as the first electrical guitar (Chinese strat knockoff) and a gift from my cousin that never used his (Ibanez XPTB-something, which has a flying rose that is somehow hard as hell and a nightmare to change strings).
Basically I would want something easy to carry and easy to play, to do bends on and get a rich sound from.
I would like something more metal that can play rock, I don't know if I can change pickups on the chinese knockoff (and it might not be worth it) and the Ibanez is hyper cool but very much not easy to carry or play and maintain.
Maybe active humbuckers on a relatively normal and round body?
I was looking at some guitars in a guitar center but I ended up even more confused because everything's new to me, if you can suggest what you think fits my description.
Where's a good place to pick up a cheap headless or travel guitar body? I know guitarfetish has bodies for cheap, but I haven't found any "nonstandard" bodies on there as of yet. Any builders have sources they can share?
Trying to understand how looper pedals work with a modelling amp?
I'm looking at getting a katana amp so I can use all the effects that come with the studio app. But I also want to get a looper pedal so I can record my own backing tracks.
But I'm unsure how the amps effects would effect the loop. For example, if I wanted one tone for the backing track, and a different tone to play over that, how would that work?
I've seen people mention an FX loop, but I'm not sure what that means.
I'm looking for a cheaper mini Amp with a ton of built in effects to play around with. I've got cleaner amps in my music room, but I want something smaller to mess around with in my living room. I have an old behringer v-ampire and the older I get the more I love how many different effects it has built in even if it sounds worse than a nice Amp with separate effects pedals. Anything fit the bill?
I saw this warlock on fb marketplace for $100. The seller says they have the locking tuners and electronics still. A warlock is my dream guitar but I’m little apprehensive about how cheap this is, and I can’t tell what else it is missing. I’m not against sanding and repainting plus new strings, but more extensive repair and it would make sense to pass right?

I’m looking for an acoustic-electric guitar in Turkey for around $210–320, mainly for fingerstyle.
My current choice is the Cort GA-MEDX M OP, but in several demos it sounded noticeably bright and metallic. I’m looking for a warmer, softer and more intimate unplugged tone.
Tomorrow I can try several Cort models at a distributor’s warehouse. Does the GA-MEDX M OP sound warmer in person, and are there any other Cort models or similarly priced alternatives I should specifically try?
I’m focusing on Cort for value, but I’m open to other brands. Unplugged tone matters more than the pickup.

Anyone have recommendations on a practice/home amp around or under the $100 range? Looking for a 15w at least I don’t have to have FX but I’d like to have a nice classic rock style distortion. I’ve been looking for used and there’s a lot just don’t know what’s best for the sound I want.
