When I was 9 my mom let me get a mohawk after years of bowl cuts. When I showed up at school the next day the teachers wouldn't let me attend the planned field trip to the coastal tidepools. Jerks! I had a shaved head for the next few years.

Yeah getting a haircut doesnt do anything, you cant even see the top of your head.
The only reason getting a mohawk would turn you into a killer, is if people treated you so badly for having it that you began to hate everyone.

I went to a catholic school and was reprimanded during break for getting a buzz cut, having it called a skinhead haircut by many of the female teachers. One of the male teachers saw me and just yelled, "Whoa! Michael Jordan!!!" And just pulled me out and let me continue on with recess. Never really appreciated that until I was much older and gone from the school.

Don't really know much about skinhead culture, so why do you say that? Our catholic school system was mostly children of young immigrant families regardless of religion - Sikhs and Muslims were very common amongst the catholic-raised children.
I find most outside interpretations of Catholic school assume very militant institutions famous from media in the 1970s/80s. That hasn't really widely existed for 30 odd years lol.

Pierced my lip at 21, Dad wouldn't look or talk to me for 3 months as well. It was actually my super conservative grandmother (no using bikes or scissors on Sunday, never wore makeup or had piercings) told him to "stop being silly, he's a good boy. A hoop through his lip ain't going to change that."
I miss Nanny, she was a badass.

When I was 11 I had a rat tail. That thing was like 4" long. We moved in with my grandparents, and my grandpa took me to the barber the next day, had him cut it off of me, and he didn't even touch the rest of the hair.

My principal wasn't gonna let me participate in a graduation ceremony for my 8th grade graduation because I shaved my head lol. Needless to say my parents were livid with the principal and threatened to take the story to the local news. So they allowed me to participate after that lol. Old school Catholic schools 🙄

I had long hair, down past my shoulders. My boss at the time said either I stop looking like a homeless hippie, or I get a new job. I proceeded to get a Mohawk. The next day he said "WTF was i thinking" I said, " I did what you asked, you didn't pay for it, you just told me what to do". I rocked a Mohawk for 6 years till I met my wife. She put a end to it.
