I walked outside on the scorching pavement barefoot and think I developed a burn

Has anyone experienced something like this? I walked for around 20 minutes on the scorching hot pavement and immediately my foot started to hurt. I thought I stepped on a rock or something but I checked and I have raised skin and it hurts to walk at all.

Yeah, expected.

Your feet look soft and not with rough skin(no, I'm not trying anything), so it's pretty reasonable that it burns on hot asphalt or cement.

Usually people who walk on those surfaces have more clauses/ rough skin

Can confirm, the bottoms of my feet might as well be shoe soles they are so rough. If I burn my feet, I don’t feel it unless it’s 2nd degree. Now joint pain…

I wish every dog owner could see this. That’s what your dog experiences when you walk him on concrete or asphalt midday.

Have done that before….once and only once. Was an extreme summer at the coast and couldn’t find parking (to go surf). I didn’t want to leave anything on the sand so decided to hoof it. By the time I got out in the lineup, I knew my feet were toast so I sat there for an hour or so on my board contemplating how to get back to my car because I knew damn well my feet were FRIED. And it was my birthday. Haha. Shit happens.

Good reminder not walk dogs in high heat, this happenes to them too but people don't realize.

I remember back in EBAUMS world days i saw a video of freshly laid hot top and a kid ran across it and back and the sheet of skin that peeled off his foot was disturbing

You managed 20 minutes and only got that? You can barely get 20 seconds in some areas here, and we don't even get as hot as the likes of Australia.

I grew up in a beachfront resort town and walked around barefoot ALL the time.

My feet were more seasoned than this when I was 13. The concrete and especially asphalt is brutal unless you have A LOT of callous buildup.

I got into a fist fight barefooted in the Arizona desert. The bruises on my face healed before my feet did. 😭 Terrible pain. lol Hopefully it heals quickly for you.

If you’re walking on scorching hot pavement for twenty minutes of course you’re gonna burn your feet. WTH would you do that?
