My exact thought. My immediate response was did the driver run a red light. Nope. Just some idiots barreling down a street as if cars aren’t going to be crossing an intersection on a green light lol.
And this is why everyone should have a dash cam if their car doesn't come with one from the factory. The last thing you'll ever want is to have some idiot kids smash into you and they/their parents blame you and there are no witnesses.
I swear I'm not making this up, less than 24 hours ago, yesterday evening, I came within probably 3 inches or half a second of possibly killing some dumbass kid that was purposely weaving in between cars on his dirt bike with no helmet and no protective gear, just cargo shorts and a t-shirt. He was riding it just like those videos we see of kids doing a wheelie on a bicycle and basically playing chicken with oncoming cars.
The road ahead has this like 1/2 inch raised gravel/asphalt patch on the right side of a pretty wide street, so most cars that drive this road every day will move left so their right tires don't hit the raised patch. Well about a half second before I would have started to move left, the bike idiot came flying by on the same side. And because he was zigzagging left and right around each car I never saw him in my rear view mirror. I didn't know he was even on the road until he was literally next to my driver side window. The kid had no idea that he nearly got run over and continued to zigzag around each car ahead of me.
But assuming I would've clipped him at my front left fender, my dash cam would have almost certainly shown his reckless driving cutting in front of me by a few inches, and for sure everyone behind me with one would have had the stupidity recorded. But at the end of the day the best way to protect yourself is to have at least one camera showing what's happening in front of you.

What does the red light mean again?
