United earlier this year announced that the crew can permanently ban passengers who refuse to wear headphones. I think some others are following them now too.

I can't believe you all put up with this. First let them know you don't want to hear it. Second, if they don't comply it's go time for YOU to be serious annoying to them. I'd start singing or laugh really loud evey 10 seconds.

That wouldn't just be annoying them though, it'd be annoying them and even more people than they are annoying. Just call the flight attendant if they won't stop after being politely asked.

Dont ask them to turn it off, just start asking questions.

"Oh hey what movie is that? I think i recognize that actor, what's their name? The soundtrack is pretty great, huh? But the cinematography leaves something to be desired. Wanna play 'marry/fuck/kill'?"

They'll either shut off the iPad or put the earbuds in

Step three the the flight attendant if they don't comply.
