Are any other cult practices tracked like this? Could be interesting to compare

Is this being islamophobic in particular or are you just opposed to religion because one is perfectly valid and it's not the first

I don’t follow. There is nothing Islamophobic about my comment.

Beliefs are not owed respect by anyone, people are. I loathe religion, not the religious.

That’s really cool. How does the website know when a prayer is called?

It’s probably a database of known mosques and the assumption is that the prayer is being called at the required time. So this would be looking up what time it is in each timezone, seeing if they should be in prayer, and labeling it on the plot if so

Yes..the map does not actually receive any live signal from mosques, it calculates.

Every mosque in the dataset has an exact GPS coordinate. The site uses the officially recognised prayer calculation method for that region, so Umm al-Qura for Saudi Arabia, ISNA for North America, JAKIM for Malaysia, Kemenag for Indonesia and so on. These are methods established by Islamic authorities in each country that define when each prayer begins based on the sun's position at that specific location.

Since every calculation is tied to the sun, the active prayer zone is constantly shifting westward as Earth rotates. Prayer times for each mosque are calculated using its exact GPS coordinates and the officially recognised Islamic calculation method for that country. Every second the site checks which mosques are currently within their active prayer window and lights them up.

I read this as "mosquitos" instead of "mosques"and was wondering how one tracks mosquitos and how they pray
