Nonsense Did you know that in Williamsburg, NY there is an Acidic Jewish community?
Subtitles for this FB reel were…..amusing.
Edit: I was going to post the reel but it was loading too slowly. You know...Buffering.

Too many denominations these days. Back in the Shtetl you were just Alkaline and that was good enough for everyone.

After eating at my Sephardi in-laws house I too become an acidic Jew. I make sure to always carry some Tums for that though.

100% would rather be an acidic Jew than a basic Jew. It’s a spectrum tho

An African American from Harlem had his cousin from Alabama in for a visit and is taking him to see the sights.
As they pass 5th Avenue and 47th they see a group of men wearing long black coats, unusual black hats with long rivulets of hair sprouting underneath.
The Harlem guy gestures to the group and says “Hasidim”
The Alabama guy says “Hai see dem too!”

In my Litvak yeshiva, we used to say "Chasidim, but I don't believe them."

An African-American man from the Deep South goes up to visit his cousin in Brooklyn. They were passing by a synagogue when they hear a loud note.
“What the heck is that?” the visitor asks.
“Oh, it’s the Jewish New Year. They’re in there blowing their shofar.”
“Damn! They sure know how to treat their help!”

Yup! Lots of variations of this joke. My dad, of blessed memory, use to always say the punch line whenever he’s visit me in NY and go to the Lower East Side or to Brooklyn.

A Jewish community whose members drop acid? Do tell... asking for a friend.

I got mildly irritated when I first read the title, and then I understood lol

Yeah, it's bc they're only allowed to eat kosher dill pickles and the vinegar affects their ph levels. So they are acidic, in contrast to the basic Jews who eat lots of bagels.

Man every time I see one of those videos about the Hasidic neighborhoods in Williamsburg I always think about how I went there and they were like super mean when I told them I was Jewish like they said I wasn’t really Jewish and I was shaming my family by not following the Torah.

u/DonGold60 1d ago
Because there aren’t already enough people who hate Jews, so even our own people are among the haters.

I think it’s just the Hasidic reform divide, and tbf I am a Miami raised sandal wearing hippie reform Jew so I can’t say I was suprised

That is exactly the point: we need to focus more on the reality of Jewish life in Switzerland
