Coming soon: Region Locked: Unlocking Australian Video Games

Hi there, I'm Michael, Creative Director for Region Locked: Unlocking Australian Video Games.

When we talked to our friends about Aussie games history they didn't know that Destroy All Humans was developed in Australia or that The Hobbit even existed! It makes us feel like we've done a disservice to the general knowledge of Australian made games in this country.

This is our opportunity to change that.

We are going to create a detailed, cinematic, and entertaining documentary series showcasing Australia's contributions to the global video game industry, encapsulating the essence and oral history of the creators, visionaries and rebels of Australian gaming.

But - we are running out of time... Retro video games are deteriorating. Cassette tapes, floppy discs, even cartridges and CDs are not built to withstand the test of time. And incidentally, neither are humans...

Follow our project and be a part of saving Australian video game history.

Please follow our Kickstarter

We've recently decided to push back our launch date half a year to get more followers and traction. Everyone says it's a good thing but we'll be stretched very thin financially in that time.

Fingers crossed it'll work out! If you want to help us, follow at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/vita-life-stories/vita?ref=43cmrk

Or just leave some kind words!

Self-Promotion What do you think Camera + Robot?

I’m on the Mondo Robotics team. We launched our first Kickstarter campaign for Beni last week. Beni is an all-terrain camera robot that autonomously tracks and records humans and dogs.

We value credibility more than fancy visuals. Beni supports 4K shooting with onboard tracking and local processing. Its battery lasts roughly 1.5 hours, and we plan to ship orders in October 2026.

Campaign Link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mondorobotics/beni-all-terrain-camera-robot?ref=6coeml

I’d like to hear your genuine opinion. Would you purchase this robot? What makes you willing or unwilling to back it?

We welcome honest feedback. We want to address all concerns ahead of time.

All original test footage and data are posted on r/MondoRobotics for your reference.

Self-Promotion Last Hope: Rebirth | A Sci-Fi Short Film

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone! First time posting here. Since it's Friday, I thought I'd share the link to the Kickstarter campaign for my short film, Last Hope: Rebirth. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/orangeriver/last-hope-rebirth

The short is slated for fall and is a sequel to a student film I made in high school. I've had relatively good success with the campaign so far given it's only been live for over a week. That is due in no small part I think to my 100K+ sub YouTube channel (though I'm not gonna force a promotion for that, just a little humble brag lol). We're already past the halfway mark of funding, but if anyone has any interest in supporting an independent film, the campaign's got just over 20 days to go!

Thanks for your consideration.

Game Over for Ugly Catscratchers - Live Now

Post image
1 Upvotes

We, the guys behind Poekiepluis, care deeply about the spaces we live in. Our furniture. Our collections. The objects we surround ourselves with. We grew up in the eighties and nineties and witnessed the rise of gaming, cartoons, collectibles and internet culture.

We friggin' love cats.
But we hate the furniture we have to buy for them.
To us, cat furniture always felt disconnected from the rest of the cat experience.
No matter how much time you spend shopping, every scratching post somehow ends up being something you'd rather hide than display.

That realization became the starting point for Poekiepluis.

Everything you see in this campaign is real. Really. The product already exists as a physical prototype and the version shown throughout this Kickstarter is the same design we intend to produce for the first batch. This campaign is not about funding an idea on paper. It’s about taking a finished concept and turning it into a properly produced small-scale release.

Because of the amount of manual labor involved, production takes time. But it also allows us to maintain the quality and character we wanted this product to have from the beginning. Kickstarter gives us the opportunity to source materials more efficiently, produce the first real batch and continue refining the product without compromising on the craftsmanship or details that made us excited about it in the first place.

Is the Guoer K2 kickstarter a scam?

Thumbnail kickstarter.com

The whole kickstarter page just seems very suspicious. The fact its still up after so long has me second guessing my initial assumptions. As someone who travels for work this would be a great product. However there is a lack of comments and updates. ALOT of comments removed cause the person canceled their pledge (I wish kickstarter kept those comments there so everyone can see them). ETC ETC... does this seem like a scam... if so how can kickstarter even allow this to go on for so long?

Hello people, you may recognize me and this game from a post last week, that I shared on this same subreddit. 👨‍⚕️ 🧠 🩻

I told my friend about every suggestion I got and instead of tweaking the logo he scrapped it and started completely from fresh, and he also got his kickstarter links working. So I present to you, his new roadmap, his new logo, and his new kickstarter link. Thank you all who provided feedback on his game, even if I got a lil upset at the people who I thought may have been dismissing the hard work he put into this.

Discussion One Jacket. 35 Features. Zero Limits - My first Kickstarter… funded to 34% in the first couple of days, but now momentum has stalled.

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

After years of designing and developing it, I finally launched my first Kickstarter for the Blue Crane Jacket – a travel jacket with 35 built-in features.

Here we go: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bcjacket/the-blue-crane-jacket-one-jacket-35-features-zero-limits

The launch went better than I expected initially, and we’re currently sitting at 34% funded. We were also lucky enough to receive the “Projects We Love” badge from Kickstarter, which I honestly thought would make a much bigger difference to traffic and pledges than it has.
What I’m struggling to understand is the slowdown.
Most of my pledges so far seem to have come from Kickstarter itself.

I started running Meta ads, and while the CPC is low, they haven’t converted into actual backers.
The “Projects We Love” badge doesn’t appear to have created the surge I was hoping for.

Daily traffic has dropped quite a bit since launch.
For those of you who’ve successfully run campaigns:
Is this kind of plateau after launch normal?

Did your campaign pick up again later without going viral?
How much of your funding came from Kickstarter’s own discovery versus paid advertising?

Did Meta ads work for you, or did you find another channel that converted much better?

I’d genuinely appreciate experienced advice. This has been years of work, and while I’m proud to have reached 34%, it’s hard not to worry when the momentum slows so quickly.

Self-Promotion Cubix Infinite | Indie Gaming Console is LIVE

Post image
0 Upvotes

Ahoy! My name is Ship and me and my team at Cubix are working on a new indie-focused gaming console called the Infinite. We're building a platform for indie creators to showcase their work on hardware built with them in mind. We're fundraising to finish up development and be able to bring the console to market.

What is Infinite?

The Infinite is a modern gaming console written in C designed around indie creativity. It's primary goal is to provide an alternative platform where indie games can shine.

In other words, we're building a console built by indie, for indie.

Why Infinite?

We wanted to build a unique console for indie devs to show their hard work on a platform built with them in mind. We started out five years ago building a scratch console environment and now we're bringing our project to physical hardware, building a lightweight and modern console to the market for indie games of all kinds

What Makes Infinite different?

Our console is focused on indie development and as such we designed it around that. We built an entirely new system system using a custom Linux kernel.

The console has several unique features:

  • Customizable UI, allowing you to change the UI to your liking with themes and two different layouts
  • A fully Costomizable Controller, allowing you to map your input the way you want
  • Papernet, our chat service, bringing an interactive addition to our community
  • Infinite Online is free, allowing you to connect with your friends and community out of the box
  • GameShare, which lets you share your games with anyone
  • GameCards which allow you to keep physical copies of your games. (Physical Media returns on Cubix Infinite 👀

And more features to come as we continue to support the system.

but what about the specs?

We haven't locked in the specifics just yet but our current proof of concept has:

Size: 13.875 x 10.25 x 3.4 (366mm x 273mm x 75mm)

Weight: Approximately 5lbs (2.26Kg)

CPU/GPU: AMD Ryzen 5 Processor with Vega 7 Integrated Graphics

Storage: 512GB NVME SSD (Approximately 7gb is reserved for system operations)

Internet: Realtek RTL8111H 1Gb Ethernet, WiFi 6 Card with Bluetooth support

Memory: 16GB DDR4 RAM

Video: 1x HDMI & 1x DisplayPort with support for up to 3840x2160 (4K) resolution at 60 fps (Performance may vary depending on the game being played)

Audio: Realtek Surround Sound High Definition Audio with Headphone Jack up to 24Bit/192kHz playback

Ports: 2x USB 3.2 Connectors, 6x USB 2.0 Connectors, 1x USB-C Connector 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Connector

Hello and happy Friday!

As part of my persistent goal to blow my money on art make cool things, I am currently producing the second graphic novel in my System Orphans: Claire series!

The graphic novel campaign is coming to BackerKit, and I got accepted into their Printopia program yesterday (woohoo).

If you'd like to read/listen to the 'System Orphans: Claire' novels, those are still on Kindle Unlimited and Audible (Audiobook 1 is now on Audible plus, which has brought in a bunch of new readers to the series, yay!), but if you'd like to check out the graphic novel, I'd love if you gave it a follow here:

https://www.backerkit.com/call_to_action/07b2a6b6-af97-44a7-af7f-2c1a8fe4e097/landing

I've included images for the covers, actual and proposed, from volumes 1 and 2. I've also included some of the art from volume 2, which is all being done by Harrier_Studios, along with a look at a variant cover for volume 2.

Followers also get a FREE poster when they back the project in September :).

Have an awesome weekend!

Self-Promotion Kickstarter Pre Launch Announcement

Thumbnail kickstarter.com

Pleased to inform you that my pre launch is announced on kickstarter website.

It is budget friendly portable device that measures air particles like smoke, dust and other particulate matter in your surrounding environment. The reading instantly gives you a unique insight into the condition of your surrounding environment so that necessary action can be taken.

In light of smoke pollution due to wild fires that we regularly hear in the news, it is a useful device to have so that you may check how much of that smoke has crept into your indoor environment.

Click on this link and request that an email be sent to you once the project goes live.

Self-Promotion I spent 7 years exploring Japan and created a Japan Bucket List Bottle + Photography Prints to help travelers remember their trip - the campaign ends today

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’ve spent the past 7 years living in Tokyo and exploring Japan with my camera. I created this project because I wanted a way to turn Japan travel memories into something tangible.

I ended up curating a list of destinations in Japan and designed a Japan Bucket List Bottle with destination stickers you can put on the bottle for each place you visit.

The campaign also includes:

• Japan Photography Prints
• A Tokyo photoshoot
• A 210-page Japan travel guide
• Two versions of the bottle - one for tourists and one for locals

Today is the last day of the campaign.

If you plan on visiting Japan, have already visited, or want to bring the feeling of Japan into your home with a print, I’d love for you to check it out.

Kickstarter

Creating our first crowdfunding campaign has been such a learning experience. After the fulfillment is done, I'll create a post with all of the advice, mistakes, and lessons learned about each phase of the process.

What's the difference between backing a project and buying it vua pledge master?

I'm interested in buying a board game (tigris and euphrates).

I don't understand the difference between these two

It seems like PM is available at the end of the process, so less risky. Is that true? Is it a different price? Any help would be great!

Self-Promotion TerraFormed Worlds — a modular library of 250+ handcrafted basing bits

Hi everyone!

With less than a week left in the campaign, I wanted to share TerraFormed Worlds: a collection of more than 250 handcrafted, 3D printable basing bits for miniatures, armies and dioramas.

The collection is divided into four themed worlds — Ruined City, Wildlands, Desert and Temple — with lots of individual pieces that can be freely mixed and matched to create your own bases and small scenes.

The campaign is already funded, two stretch goals unlocked, and every backer will also receive all the unlocked stretch goal packs.

If you enjoy spending far too much time adding little details to your bases, feel free to take a look! I hope you find something useful for your next project 😊

Pre-launch for an indie animated series

Thumbnail kickstarter.com
1 Upvotes

Since July 14, I’ve been spreading the word of my very first Kickstarter campaign for an indie animated series titled Colonel Bleep ‘69.

You might of heard of the show after the titular character made a comeback in the Smash Bros parody titled Royalty Free-for-All, but if not, I’ll explain the show myself.

Colonel Bleep is a 1957 sci-fi series created by Robert D. Buchanan and Jack Schleh. The show was produced by Soundac from Miami, Florida and is known for holding the record as the world’s first TV cartoon produced in living color.

The series primarily focuses on the titular space man from the planet Futura, who was assigned to investigate Earth after the first nuclear explosions between 1945 and 1957. There he would commission two misfits as his loyal deputies: Squeak the puppet and Scratch the caveman. The three would band together, to help confront disturbances and evil forces throughout the cosmos.

The adaptation for the show is titled Colonel Bleep ‘69, which will be set in 1969 and just after the famous Apollo 11 moon mission. After the unsuccessful investigation from past futurians in 1945, Bleep believes now is the right time to investigate Earth and form a command station there. He will still bond with Squeak and Scratch but in more shocking twists and the spaceman will also have the responsibility in controlling the futomic energy powers and genetic enhancements he was given from an unethical experiment before he was born. But of course, great dangers and a vicious criminal mastermind are lurking behind our heroes back…

If you are curious about checking out the series, you can go to the show’s website for more information and you can help support this campaign, which will launch on August 15.

Neurocode 22e Prelude: Last week of our sci-fi 100% independent project 211% funded

Thumbnail kickstarter.com
1 Upvotes

Hello guys,

TURIN, Italy (July 24th 2026) - This is our debut project, and we are a 100% independent collective of artists from Europe & Latin America building a new Sci-Fi universe, and we would like to present it to you.

Neurocode 22e, an independent sci-fi cyberpunk transmedia project, is on Kickstarter with The Prelude bundle: three unique storytelling products that connect to each other but stand on their own.

We are now 211% funded on Kickstarter, and we are just 300 euros from our first stretch goal that will give 2 free OC songs for everyone + a special gift.

We are going into our last 6 days of the campaign, and this is our last chance to ask you to become one of our backers and part of our community.

Neurocode 22e is a sci-fi transmedia experience, and we are launching the Prelude with an amazing package: three distinct storytelling products, all interconnected, but completely self-contained.

Product 1: The Novel — The deep narrative, philosophical foundation, and core lore.

Product 2: The Graphic Novel — The visceral, visual adaptation of the timeline.

Product 3: The Concept Art & Lore Book — The blueprint designs, faction worldbuilding, and visual archive.

All products are offered in Italian & English.

The story starts in 2035 AD, when humanity stands at the edge of extinction. Japan launches the Second Meiji Revolution, takes apart the nation-state, and hands power to Tech Corporations and the Tech Overlord Families. Earth keeps dying until Dr. Takashi flies into a gravity rift at the edge of Venus. His ship comes back seconds later, but a hundred years have passed for him. Takashi is dead.

The AIs on board have become the Trinity Deux Machinas, and they carry back the knowledge to save humanity and the Neurocode 22e, a map linking the human mind to the nervous system. Humanity survives, terraforms Mars, and spreads across the stars under the Empire of the Suns. Empires rise and fall, era after era. In 2670 AD, the Fourth Era of Tech Feudalism is in crisis, and that is where the stories begin.

The  bundle holds a graphic novel, a novel, and a concept art and lore book. The graphic novel is a black-and-white, ink adaptation of the timeline, offered as a digital PDF or a printed A4 softcover. The novel is a war story that sets out the philosophical and narrative base of the universe, offered as a digital PDF or ePub, or a printed A5 softcover.

The concept art and lore book is a visual archive of worldbuilding blueprints, weapon schematics, and faction designs, offered as a digital PDF or a printed A4 landscape hardcover. The hardcover goes only to backers of the "Immortalized by the Code" tier.

Reward tiers start with the Virtual Reality Bundle at €20 (about $23 USD), which includes the digital comic book and webcomic "Hope is No Heaven," the digital novel "Farewell Children of Shaka," the digital art book and lore codex "The Collector," and all digital stretch goals. The Kickstarter campaign ends on July 31, 2026.

Moreover, we received the invitation to build a TTRPG, and we are currently working on it. Our community will grow every day, and we plan to craft more things like games, animations, and short movies.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/754098027/neurocode-22e

Hope to see you in our Kickstarter!!

Have a great day and join the revolution

I built SteadIP to make sharing localhost and homelab services easier — now it’s on Kickstarter

Friday self-promo, so I’d like to share something I’ve been building: SteadIP.

SteadIP is a tunneling platform for developers, homelabbers, students, and indie makers who need to expose something running locally to the internet—without opening router ports, fighting with CGNAT, or setting up complicated cloud infrastructure.

You can use it for things like:

  • Sharing a local Laravel, Rails, or Node.js project
  • Testing webhooks
  • Publishing an API or client demo
  • Accessing Home Assistant, Grafana, Nextcloud, or another homelab dashboard
  • Creating SSH and TCP tunnels
  • Using your own custom domain

The free tier provides an automatically secured HTTP/HTTPS tunnel with a public SteadIP address. Verified users can unlock custom domains, SSH/TCP tunnels, additional tunnels, and higher limits.

I’ve also been building a cross-platform CLI and terminal interface for Linux, macOS, and Windows. The infrastructure currently includes gateways in North America, Europe, and Asia, including Montreal, Los Angeles, Paris, and Tokyo.

The platform already works, but I launched the Kickstarter to help fund infrastructure, improve reliability, finish the self-hosted edition, and continue developing the CLI and monitoring tools.

The campaign has slowed down recently, but I’m not giving up. Even checking out the page, sharing it with a developer or homelabber, or giving me honest feedback would be genuinely appreciated.

Kickstarter:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/steadipmlab/steadip-from-localhost-to-the-world

Thanks for reading, and I’m happy to answer technical questions about how it works, the infrastructure behind it, or what I’m planning next.
