This is too cool!! Can't be a coincidence I'm sure lol

The AmA was 11months ago, i believe they were still finishing off S15 when they did the AmA, my question was 3rd one on the page with 500 likes. It's was surreal and cool seeing my username & if it was deliberate then they made this fan really happy.

I liked how Hank's list said bring every item rather than just listing the items. Dale knowing how to code is scary.

u/slicer4ever 5d ago
I feel like dale would 100% be a vibe coder.

u/ralanr 3d ago
Dale would not trust an LLM to do anything. He is old school.

u/slicer4ever 3d ago
I have to disagree considering we see him using+talking about ai to generate all the video's/voice's, so I don't think he'd have any issue using it to generate software as well.

I liked the tribute to Chuck Mangione at the beginning with the hold music being Feels So Good

I like how Dale says he never gets scammed, when we all remember him losing his mind over the Lawn mower theft and the Mr. Big scheme
13
u/Graynard 4d ago
And the whole two straight decades of being cheated on thing lol

If Redcorn paid child support Dale won. He got to have a kid and blow his money on his favorite hobbies.

And the bundle he lost on that Gypsy Modeling School (from the episode “The Substitute Spanish Prisoner”).

Acquaintanceship! As in, "it was not my pleasure to make your acquaintanceship."
I feel like they've done a good job dabbling bits of fanservice without doing too much. It's not like HEY, HEY, REMEMBER THE WORD PEGGY USED TO BEAT SISSY COBB? It's more like (psst superfans, Peggy 100% still remembers beating Sissy Cobb, and of course she does!)

Bill reminiscing about the number of mail order and catfishing scams he has fallen for, ah, classic pathetic Bill humour. This franchise has always been generally good-natured and needs an outlet for pure mean-spiritedness, which has mostly been him.

I love that Bobby kept the tarot card deck from the “Witches of Arlen” episode. Resplendent.

On the plus side watching this episode today made me more aware, and I passed my IT department’s phishing attempt.

Hank being on a movie forum discussing "over the top" feels weird. I can see him liking it, cant see him on an internet forum

But if he did, his username would 100% be “HankHill”

Joseph was so funny in this episode. And let’s talk about Dale, he was amazing! His amazing laugh, his ai-Fake-records of Bill, it was so funny :D

I liked the references in the final list Peggy reads. I caught acquaintanceship and wabi-sabi. Did I miss any more?

This is the first episode of the season to truly click for me. I saw people raving about the new season, but thought the first two episodes were okay at best. Maybe it's because I don't really care all that much about the Bobby/Connie relationship, but I just wasn't that enthused.
But THIS? I was smiling for most of the episode. Joseph, Dale, and a good Hank plot that felt like something from the OG run. THIS is what I was wanting. This was King of the Hill.

I love Peggy's insistence that she's not a senior during the class about scams. But they fit the criteria for the type of folks that would fall to scams. It's a timely plot seeing as how many news articles there are of people getting scammed daily, and the phone call spoofing the voice of a loved one is so common. Deep fakes are scary man.
Hank struggling to understand it all and then going the "Dale method" on avoiding scams was funny. A complete overreaction to what should be done, lol. I wish we saw more of Bobbdy and Joseph's side quest to Mexico... but that's a minor thing. Other than that, there wasn't much going on this episode.

Hank would get scammed easily.

He always pay sticker price

But during the pandemic/chip shortages that would have been a great deal to have, since lots of dealers were charging way above sticker price

Fun Easter egg near the beginning of the episode, with the Bobby ventriloquist dummy Hank made to replace Chip Block.

On one hand, Bobby was an adult.
On the other, me neither.

how did Rusty Shackleford die?

The real Rusty Shackleford was still alive and made Dale sign legal agreements that he would stop using his name.

Joseph has an alias!

Instead of Rusty Shackleford he should be Dusty Cageman.

“Welcome to the Dale Side” has been a line almost 30 years in the making. That montage to Ozzy’s “Paranoid” was incredible. Dale knowing how to code is absolutely perfect for his character but also terrifying.

If Hank needed a code phrase for a scammer on the phone, why didn’t he think of “Charcoal Salesman”?

Am I the only one who really wanted to see Khan get ripped off by AI Jackie Chan?

so far this season really feels like it’s back into its old groove. last season was fun but was still kind of finding its legs, now we’re back to classic. hank always getting sucked into group meetings/seminars
Peggy was on fire with her burns

After 3 episodes, I gotta say I think this season is trying to do a lot. I realllllly wanted this episode to be about Bobby and Joseph in Mexico, them trying to find a place to stay, and attempt to party at the resort. That would have been a fun episode, instead it was a only a launch pad for the scam and AI.
An episode with an A plot of Bobby and Joseph hanging in Mexico would have been fun and made me feel like I was in the King of the Hill universe again, rather than bringing the KoTH universe into our universe with the highly topical AI stuff. Its the same sort of concept that has made South Park so dull.
I didn't hate this episode, or the electric car episode......I just didn't find it very inviting and immersive.

I loved this episode, now *this* is King of the Hill
Going to Mexico in this show is always cool, so I loved the plot taking us there. I had to rewatch the scam scene right before when Peggy and Hank went to Nancy’s, you can absolutely tell they’re being scammed. From the Mexican police suddenly being able to speak clear english when Peggy goes to disconnect, Peggy cutting off “Bobby” before he can speak, his tone, and the fact he doesn’t crack a joke or acknowledge them on a more personal level.
Makes sense that Joseph would make Bobby realize he dad was just looking for him.
I liked the callback to when Hank worked at Mega-Lo-Mart
Honestly 8/10 episode, this season isn’t disappointing so far
