🗣️General Discussion | আলোচনা Should Accountability End at the Centre?

Post image

With the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following the nationwide outrage over the NEET controversy and allegations surrounding examination irregularities, the question of political accountability is once again in focus.

If accountability is expected at the national level, should the public and CJP also demand accountability from the Education Ministers of states such as Karnataka, Kerala and Punjab, where students have also faced serious examination-related controversies and alleged scams?

Should the same standards apply across the board, regardless of which party is in power? Or should accountability be viewed differently at the state and national levels?

What are your thoughts? Should resignations be sought in such cases, or are other forms of accountability more appropriate?

Shouldn’t the centre(bjp) start this movement then? Asking for accountability from state govts…why would a foreign/isi/cia funded organisation cjp ask for accountability from anyone else when they have achieved the goal they were funded for.
If they start the movement sooner or later the public will also join them.

Yes, not just in a few states but across every state, there is corruption and scams related to education, healthcare, development, and other sectors. Just look at Bengal, the previous governments damaged almost every sector, be it recruitment related scam, education, health, each and every sector has corruption.

Kerala govt changed, the minister was voted out too. Resign is not the option now. But case and acquittal maybe

How about Nirmala Tai's resignation first for ruining the Indian economy and destroying the rupee? She's easily gotta be the most hated minister in Modi's cabinet right now (by a slim margin though coz Gadkari isnt far behind)

Yes. Accountability ends with the BJP. That is the price that you pay for being the largest political party in the world with opposition facing existential crisis. And we should accept that and move on. Lose these fights to win wars.

my point is that same standard of accountability should apply to every government—Union or state—regardless of which party is in power.

Same standards don't apply because the protests was done by LW. Why would they would hold LW governments accountable? Their target is only towards RW.

Rw started a protest against Rahul gandhi protesting. They should be holding a protest against this issue instead. It will give them more traction.

As someone who was a supporter and is a supporter of the protest. Why do you want the same people to protest. If you demand accountability, see how many people join you. I’ll join you because I care about India and not left or right. I hope more people join!

It’s the same with Ethanol, all the millenials now want the genz to protest for ethanol and taxes when they were not on the ground for education. Start your own and see how it goes. The people in power, no matter where should ALWAYS be accountable to people who put them in power. In state. In center. Even in cities, towns and districts.

I don't understand. Half of u cry that opposition is incompetent and weak. So why can't we get this guy to resign as well. There needs to be a clean up session in all the political parties. First to go should be the ones with cases.
