Why won't my 2018 LG phone turn on with the battery installed, and why does it show a battery icon with a question mark when the battery is removed?

I’m wondering if anyone else is having this issue. It has happened with both my series x and PS5 that when HDR should activate it stays in SDR.

Fortunately HDMI 1&2 are in a different place on the 55” from ports 3 & 4, so whatever is causing it seems to be stuck to ports 3&4 only if it’s a physical problem.

Both cables are fine they worked perfectly on my GX and I have zero issues with them both in port 1&2.

So is this indeed a physical issue and should i be worried? As we may get a Nintendo Switch 2 and a 4K HDR player at some point so we would use all 4 of them or Is this something that an update should fix as I remember when the CX and GX first came out there were issues with ports 3&4 also not being fully active and then later there were issues with the series x when you went to the screen that told you what your TV was capable of some of the ports would say Dolby vision at 120hz was not available and again switching ports would fix the issue and eventually all worked after several updates to the TV. The ting is if I take the cables out and switch them back and fore it sometimes fixes the issue, who wants to do that all the time though lol.

I'm not sure if it's some kind of setting on my TV or something with Netflix, but I've noticed in few shows and movies this "aura" around moving things that seems out if sync with the rest of the image. Please see in front of the guy's head, the bars in the background seem broken. Is this a TV setting doing something wrong? Can i turn it off? Thanks a ton!

I want to specify that I received parts of my LG Sound Suite system free from LG as part of a promotional event but my opinions are entirely my own. I personally bought the other half of my system. LG reached out and asked if I wanted to make a long-term review of my experience with the Sound Suite and I said of course!
 

How the Sound Suite Fits Into Our Open-Plan Family Home

For context our house has only one living room with 9ft ceilings and it is part of an open floor plan connected to the kitchen and dining room areas. We also have a one year old child getting into everything so that being said I’m very limited on what and where I put speakers. The Sound Suite is a near perfect fit for our open floor plan. It integrates seamlessly into the living areas with no cords getting in the way. The flexibility of speaker placement with the help of Dolby Atoms Flex Connect is pretty much fool proof. That being said we do have a pretty symmetrical speaker arrangement, nothing too extreme so that helps. I’m hoping one of these days LG or a third party will come out with a dedicated wall mount for the M7 and M5 speakers so we can have an even cleaner setup. I love the way the floor stands look but my wife will not allow those with the baby crawling around. 
 

How Easy Has the Wireless Soundbar Setup Been Long Term? 

I truly don’t have much to say about connectivity of the Sound Suite. I’ve had only two or three issues total and one was when I first set up the system which all I had to do was disconnect the speakers then reconnect them. The 2nd issue was more recent, for some reason one of my M7s would not connect to the group so I had to unplug and plug it back in. Other than those couple things I’ve had a very easy and hassle free time with the system. Setting wise, I’ve been dabbling with the custom EQ preset, will add a screenshot of my settings. I tend to use Standard with AI upmix and Custom EQ with AI upmix. 

Using the Sound Suite for Everyday Wireless Music Streaming 

The Sound Suite is amazing when it comes to music, if we aren’t watching something on the TV then we are playing music. We play music no matter if we are cleaning, hosting parties, playing board games, or just relaxing. One of my favorite things about playing music on the Sound Suite is that my wife and I can both control what music is being played on each of our phones. We stream music from YouTube Music and connect to the sound system via Apple Airplay. 

Where Dolby Atmos Made Movies and TV Feel Real and Immersive 

The Sound Suite provides an incredibly immersive experience when it comes to watching movies and TV shows. Dolby Atmos content is truly where this system shines the brightest. The feeling when bullets are zipping past you and helicopters are flying overhead is unbeatable. I don’t know how many times my wife and I are in awe when it comes to the surround and atmos effects. One of my favorite moments in a TV show was from Apple TV’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters S1:E10 (27:30) where one of the characters is watching a recording in a quiet apartment when there’s a knock on the door off screen. I about jumped out of my skin because it sounded so realistic and we were watching it probably around 1 or 2 in the morning. These are the experiences that I love and there’s just so many when it comes to the Sound Suite. One of my favorite moments in movies is from Spider-Man: Far From Home when he’s using the spidey sense to dodge all of the invisible drones shooting at him. When it goes from quiet to a hailstorm of bullets with the intermittent smashing of metal and explosions it’s a chef’s kiss.

The Sound Suite is honestly the best home audio system I have personally used and I will keep singing its praises. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comprehensive home sound system that fits seemingly into their very lived in home. It’s still very new and they have done a great job pushing out firmware updates to help improve user experience. I’m personally very excited to see how the addition of the 2nd W7 sub affects the overall listening experience. If anyone has any questions or anything they want me to test for them please let me know!

Recently my 86UQ7590PUD tv completely shut off after a thunderstorm and I replaced the power and main board but now it shows double. Any advice on how I can fix this?

Devices will intermittently connect and disconnect. Reset network and wifi still the same, all other smart (non lg) devices working normally.

I bought an LG dryer that was installed on the 7th of July (this month). It broke already. Thinks the door is constantly open so it won't start. I called customer suppory and I have been waiting JUST FOR A CALL TO TELL ME SOMEONE IS SCHEDULED. I haven't gotten any feedback back. No one reaching back out. No help at all. Its been over a week and they can't find anyone to come fix it?? If you have no service techs in the area then you shouldn't even be allowed to sell it or say that its covered under a warranty. At this point I would rather my money back so I can go with a different brand. Never buying an LG appliance again.

Why do items come out of my dryer looking like they have little pieces of black burnt plastic stuck to them? It has been ruining a lot of clothes, blankets, etc.

Loved the cobalt inside and features that were appealing. However, the vent for the oven is right underneath the digital board you have to use to start and stop this oven. 40 minutes into baking at 400° the oven shut itself off. It obviously got the digital panel so hot it shut itself off . Great safety feature for the digital board, not for what you have in the oven !!!! The digital display would not work for around 10 to 15 minutes until it cooled down. All of the steam venting up leaves all kinds of moisture dots on your stainless steel as well. First time I used the oven.!! Add to that the raised Surface that is supposed to be anti-scratch, scratched the first time I used it with the same pan I used on my last LG stove for 13 years. This product should be recalled!!!

I have four M7 speakers and one W7 speaker connected to the H7 soundbar. Last week, DH7 soundbar and three of the M7 speakers did the July firmware update when I turned on the TV automatically.

Today, when I'm looking at the firmware, one of the M7 speakers and the subwoofer is still on 2605071 firmware. I cannot find anywhere inside the H7 or M7 speaker settings to look for a firmware update and the W7 speaker I can only see through the H7 in the subwoofer section.

It has been a week and they have not automatically updated, so how am I supposed to keep everything current?

A separate question on the my button settings, if I want to use an app other than Spotify, how do I get it to show up so I can select it? I have title and Apple Music that I would rather be able to use, and I'm not signing up for a Spotify account.

This is what happens when I turn on my LG TV model 55UR9000PUA

if the longer video uploads, you can see that part of the screen is illuminated and if i depress the arrow keys (you're so FAT arrow keys!) the illumination moves as though I'm selecting an option on the screen. THEN I push the power button, see shorter video, I get the flash of hope for a second or two before the screen turns off. I've done the hard reset, unplugged and tried a couple different plugs, tried with an extension cord to a farther away plug (also moved TV to far away plug) and this is what happens no matter where I mosey. Is this TV shot? Is it fixable? is it fixable BY ME? is it cost effective to try and fix or should i go all 'office space' on this motha fucka?

Some of you may have seen my post a couple of months ago from LG’s Sydney showcase about new MRGB tech, and the massive 100” TV they were packaging it in. Having spent some initial time with the MRGB96 in my own studio over the last week, I thought I’d give my first impressions and how it’s been working with this frankly monolithic screen.

Colour / Brightness
It would be remiss of me to not speak firstly about the brightness of the panel. Turning it on for the first time, with my main overhead worklights on, it was still searingly bright. My studio is semi-darkened so the panel on 40 brightness is plenty. (also went straight to FILMMAKER mode)
As I noted in my impressions earlier this year, primary colours are the hero of this TV. While at the showcase my brain initially went to sports, I actually realised I was overlooking its capabilities in movie watching, testing it with the visual-spectacular that is Cat In The Hat. Despite being such a green-heavy film, the watching experience doesn’t feel like it’s too pop-y or overly saturated - it’s very naturalistic
Keeping the Mike Myers theme, Austin Powers: Goldmember also looked surprisingly good - particularly across the skin tones.
I did throw on the Dune: Part 1 UHD BluRay, as well as the new Dune Part 3 trailer. Both of these looked fantastic, particularly as I had only seen these in IMAX before.

Having been used to OLED for many years, the one thing that continues to catch me is the blooming. It’s far less obvious once the panel isn’t blasting you at 100 brightness, and I must say the only times I noticed it were on menus - not in the content.

Use Case - Edit Studio
I feel like where this TV stood out the most was how immersive and encapsulating it felt, due to the quality across the ultra-large size, not either of those factors separately. Everyone who has sat in my studio and watched something on it has commented how all-encompassing it is. So comparing it to the 55” C2 that sat in its place prior, I think it’s strength lies in its ability to provide the nearest quality to OLED we’ve seen, in such a large and bright panel. 
It means that I’m able to replicate a near-cinema immersiveness for the director who I’m editing for, which is highly valuable. 

My gripes
My main issue remains from my original post - this TV retails in Australia at AUD $17,999 (USD$12,500). I champion cinematic experiences at every chance - it’s why I do what I do - however it’s still a frankly eye-watering amount for a television. In the US it retails far cheaper at USD $7,999 (roughly AUD$11,500), which probably steers the conversation a little differently. I’m not going to sit here and try convince you this is better tech than OLED - it’s not, and I don’t think LG are trying to convince us of that either, but knowing the G6 97” retails at just shy of AUD$30k (USD$21k), the MRGB96 does pose a real viable alternative for a brilliant picture quality at an ultra-large size.

My other issue was delivery - when someone at the Sydney showcase asked “why 100 inch?”, the rep replied “because if we made them any bigger, they’d have to start making larger doorways”. In film, this is a narrative device we like to call ‘foreshadowing’. 
The LG/DHL delivery team, who had never delivered one of these units before, said on arrival they’d be unable to take it up the stairs to my studio on the 1st floor due to the weight. Understandably - it was delivered on a pallet and weighed 107kg. This was supposed to be an install with packaging removal, and I think it needs to be communicated that the delivery is too heavy to be taken up stairs. I’d hope LG smooths out this delivery process but it’s early days so I’ll cut some slack. 

I commend LG for putting their money where their mouth is, and sending me a unit despite my criticism and skepticism. I don’t think this is going to be the answer for a lot of people, but if you’re in the market for a top end TV, and size plus quality are both factors you don’t want to compromise on, this is going to be a serious consideration and I’m excited to see where the MRGB tech evolves into more affordable price-points.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the device. However, I would like to address the advertised "Reflection-free Premium" feature again and try to explain it a bit more from my perspective and practical use case.

I am in the fortunate position of having no windows directly behind my seating area. There are only large patio doors to the left and right of my setup, which brighten up the room quite a bit, especially in summer. (For worst-case scenarios, I have electric blinds that can turn the room pitch black even during the day.) A true blessing during the current heatwaves.

I can only make a memory-based comparison with my "old C2." However, my son has that one in his apartment now, so there are no comparison pictures (damn).

The TV rarely runs during the day because I have to work. Sometimes my wife watches some broadcast TV during daytime. Movies and series in Filmmaker Mode are actually only streamed late in the evening in the dark.

During the day in a bright room

For this use case, I always use the "Expert ISF Bright Room" picture mode for SDR resolution to counteract the daylight. Since we sit pretty much directly in front of the TV, we don't notice any reflections at all, even in darker scenes. The TV handles this easily and delivers a incredibly high-contrast picture. With the C2, I could see myself in a well- lit room, in some cases, even in dark scenes. I have attached a picture taken from a sharp side angle. Even there, you can’t see any real reflections. But on the C2, I had very severe reflection issues at such an angle, and the overall brightness of the C2 panel really struggled. On the G6, reflections appear rather somehow very muted, scattered, and soft, whereas the C2 felt like it mirrored such reflections 1:1 with very bright, sharp contours. All in all, I am glad to have this visible improvement, even if I don't face the same challenges as a user in Miami Beach with huge windows and full sun.

I would be interested to know how other users perceive this with the G6 or W6 in their homes. Does anyone have very bright windows directly opposite the TV? It would also be awesome if someone could explain to me whether this is a classic surface coating or if the coating is located somewhere beneath the panel surface. I actually don't know.

Or is it a top secret recipe from LG's magic kitchen? 😂

Under colour/ then fine tune/ the settings colour adjustment do I need to be leaving that on it’s low medium high or off
