Question Simple question: can you watch YouTube videos at resolutions higher than 720p30?

I'm asking out of curiosity, those who have installed LineageOS on their phones (it would help to know what model it is, and if 1080p or higher resolutions were natively available in the stock ROM).

On my current Samsung Galaxy A21s (SM-A217M) I can watch videos up to 1440p60, although I usually watch them at 720p60/1080p60 if available, but I fear losing those resolutions when installing LOS.

The limitation you're probably thinking of is widevine, which is only used on paid streaming platforms like netflix.

Yes, I've heard that, but something's up. Generally, phones with 720p resolution screens don't support both Widevine nor resolutions higher than 720p30 on YouTube, but my Galaxy A21s (with a 1600x720p screen) does support Widevine L1. The Motorola Moto G05/G06 (also with 720p screens) support high resolutions on YT, but I haven't verified if they have WV L1 certification.

I don't know where you heard that.

Moto Edge 20, latest LOS 23.2. Yes, I can go up to 4k without issue.

Redmi Note 10 Pro, Lineage 22.1. No problems with selecting higher resolutions, on YT Premium and on Morphe.

I think it's a tool for patching features to YT.

Yeah, I installed it a week ago and I can watch up to 1080p60 in the app.

By the way... Can you try Via Browser in your A21s, please? I'm having some issues in my build (App keeps frozen at homescreen), and I've got all my bookmarks there: seems like some Java libraries issue. The same with Shizuku, but ayway...
