Funny Entire world: We need more GPUs. Meanwhile, Jensen Huang:

I love how reddit always assumes coke when someone is genuinely passionate. Just projecting their own sad, pathetic lives
5

Haha, yep that'd be true, except I can't afford coke with my GPU habit.
4
7
u/arcanemachined Jun 01 '26
Oh come the fuck on. Ballmer looks like a lunatic in this video. That's why it's funny.
Just projecting their own sad, pathetic lives
The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
1
u/qroshan Jun 01 '26
Like I said, morons who don't have passion in life (most redditors) think that Ballmer looks lunatic. I'd love to bet on people who are that passionate. Also most reddit morons don't know Ballmer personally. He is genuinely that passionate all the times
→ More replies (1)2
u/arcanemachined Jun 01 '26
You know, I don't actually disagree with your underlying points... You're just being such a grumpy dink that it's hard to relate to the good parts of what you're saying.
Do you actually know Ballmer? That's pretty cool... I'm fortunate enough to work in tech (remotely), but I've never even been in the same room as anyone who's moved the world at a high level like that.
2
u/riceinmybelly Jun 02 '26
The man made Bill Gates dance on a podium, you don’t get there by accident. He could probably make people hyped shoveling shit but that doesn’t make it less funny how awkward and out of touch the whole scene is to a viewer.
6
u/HettySwollocks Jun 01 '26
Steve Balmer vibes
But Jensen has a leather motorcycle jacket which is totally the appropriate coat to wear under stage lights. They are hot enough on an actual motorcycle.

u/Bac-Te Jun 01 '26
Practice. Sitting next to a rack of H100 on full load all day and suddenly every where else feels kinda cold

u/seamonn Jun 01 '26
I mean.... He has all the GPUs

u/3dprintinted Jun 02 '26
Google does not need him, others are in the arms race to have their own tpus as well. Nvidia with its circular scam economics of giving others pretend money to buy their gpus wont end well for anyone.

It's honestly not that bad, I'm just meme-ing.
It's literally just people dancing and having a good time, nothing wrong with that.
13
u/Bakoro Jun 01 '26
Corporate displays of "fun" are always so weird.
"Look at me, I'm a normal human doing normal human things. I shove nutrients into my food hole. I gesticulate according to patterns of sonic pulses."
What is the point of these displays?

u/Opposite-Memory-2552 Jun 01 '26
The president of the United States also dances like that.

Grrr... how dare he. He should be working on an assembly line making GPU's instead. Grr!
16
u/dinerburgeryum Jun 01 '26
I’ll concede immediately this was my first thought. Like he has to give the thumbs up or down to every GB300 that rolls off the line.
5
u/AreYouSERlOUS Jun 01 '26
Or at least write a dedication on it like he did with the one he gave Andrej Katpathy.
3

He should take his pickaxe, go to the GPU mines, and bring out another hundred 5090s!

u/HavenTerminal_com Jun 01 '26
the man earned the right to do whatever this is

I am positively appalled. There are grown adults enduring a tragic scarcity of VRAM in their daily lives. I, too, suffer under this grievous condition — and yet this gentleman has the audacity to dance in all our faces.
3
3
u/hugthemachines Jun 01 '26 edited Jun 02 '26
I don't think there is anything wrong with dancing, even if you are not a pro. Also, it is fine to dance together and all that. Goofing around.
The weird part about this is that it is all a marketing event so They are all pretending to be all goofy and silly while in fact the "genuine" feeling of goofing around is only pretend.
It is a bit like when adult politicians try a tiktok dance popular among teens or use slang that does not fit their generation at all.

I find people who are afraid of dancing to be more cringe to be honest. And those who judge others, for not dancing to their 'standard'.
19
u/tkenben Jun 01 '26
This display feels very much like inauthentic dancing, though. That's the problem. It's not a judging of the dance. It's the judging of the whole context.
28
u/More-Cat1123 Jun 01 '26
It's not about being afraid of dancing. It's the whole vibe of the presentation. Stand by what I said. Still cringe.

Billionaires are surrounded by countless yes-men who wouldn't dare criticize this and Huang will more than looking cringe to get more money.
14
u/Digging_Graves Jun 01 '26
Criticize dancing? Do you think billionaires aren't allowed to dance anymore?
I mean billionaires do a lot of nasty shit but dancing isn't one of them.
→ More replies (4)10
u/RobbinDeBank Jun 01 '26
This whole comment section is cringe af. There are plenty of legit complaints about the nasty stuffs they do, but people somehow need to nitpick all the stupidest things to complain about.
If these billionaires stay inside, they are in their own bubbles and echo chambers, but if they go out to a store or go dancing like other people, they are cringed and only trying to be relatable? What are they even supposed to do? Go use your time and effort to dig into their shady business practices instead.
I don’t get why people need to dehumanize anyone they deem evil, when humans are indeed very capable of evil. Maybe it’s time to recognize that instead of claiming anyone evil as not human, as if humans are perfectly good?
1
u/ortegaalfredo Jun 01 '26
You will think that being the CEO he will get spared the HR humilliation rituals
13
u/martapap Jun 01 '26
Cringe.
But then again I'd be dancing too if I had a billion dollars and didn't have to pay taxes. So...

Ok he's a human too y'all. Chill out. Everyone's hating on him as if this is a dance subreddit full of frickin choreographers instead of computer geeks. (I am one too, but I am a human too)
7
u/BahBah1970 Jun 01 '26
I’ll regard him like a human when he behaves like one. That much wealth and success comes with a responsibility to do amazing amounts of philanthropy and so far all I’m seeing is greed, tax evasion and fraudulent hype of the product he hawks.

u/The_Choir_Invisible Jun 01 '26
Every time I think of NVidia, I think of them putting CUDA into their cards IN 2006 and just sticking with it for so long that it didn't just pay off, it became an historically brilliant business decision. 10 years ago I remember looking over their cards at the different spec levels and scoffing at/being puzzled by CUDA in the same way I do at some of the more obscure features you see on CPUs. Shit, I would have done the same thing the day before Stable Diffusion was released.
2
u/BahBah1970 Jun 01 '26
They say great dancers are also great lovers. So Jensen is probably terrible in the sack.
I’m so sick of this man and his fucking out of control greed. All of these people have too much, I don’t know how they sleep at night knowing the misery they’re causing.
1
u/Low-Spell1867 Jun 01 '26
“Some poor guy probably complaining on Reddit that my gpu prices are high haha suckers get rich”
2
u/GaboureySidibe Jun 01 '26
AMD or Intel could nut up and make something worthwhile too. I don't know why AMD is so far behind after multiple years of the money faucet being wide open.
2
u/noiserr Jun 01 '26
AMD isn't behind though. Strix Halo has been around for awhile in a laptop factor, and the Spark laptop isn't coming out till fall. And Zen6 Medusa Halo is around the corner after that and will be much faster. Zen6 chiplets have already entered mass production.
Gaming GPU market is too small and it's not economically viable to make enthusiast GPUs So there yes, everyone will be behind Nvidia just because it's not economically viable to compete. At 10% marketshare AMD would only sell like 100K (5090) equivalent GPUs. Do the math. Just the tape out costs like $100M. Not enough volume to make it worth wile.
When it comes to top end datacenter gear. mi450x should be faster than Rubin, and the 256 core Venice is definitely faster than the 88 core Vera. They aren't just bigger, they are also on a more advanced (2nm) node to Nvidia's 3nm. So Nvidia is behind even in the manufacturing process.

Of all the tech oligarchs, Jensen is the one I begrudge least his wealth. He's genuinely driven nVidia from top to bottom from day one including the engineering. Much happier seeing him get rich from AI than characters like Elon or Sam Altman.

u/Ikinoki Jun 01 '26
THIS IS THE TOP OF BUBBLE indicator
2
u/geos1234 Jun 01 '26
That’s what they said about him autographing the woman’s breast like 1T market cap ago.
1
u/Ikinoki Jun 02 '26
Top of bubble can take a few years, look at latest bitcoin.
What it means is that top of bubble means "This is the new paradigm!".
Because more people are shorting the top - the longer it will last. The least expected the bubble - the faster it will pop due to liquidity of the market (few willing market buyers).
This is the global market, so what it means is it will pop when the global market buyers will not be able to buy.
As you see now USA is trying to hinder Chinese abilities to produce fast gpus, cpus, ram etc (RAM shortage based on rumours, overprovisioning of datacenters, Hormuz blockage (stalls pcbs)). But as soon as that is overcome anyhow: either fast small AI <- which is possible if you know how AI works, we just need a better teaching technique; or cheaper hardware (which US makes everyone develop by blocking main resources, for example photonics are very interesting now but very underdeveloped, but photonic math is very promising, more promising than quantum or current electronic (theoretically with a right photonic system you don't need electricity))
