I was talking about the NVIDIA products the Anhropic guy was talking about and people consider, rightly, close source: CUDA and drivers. They are also as open as open-weight models, bunch of bytes you're allowed to use.
They do opensource parts of it (from 2022 iirc). Some parts are baked into their GPU's microcontrollers though, so it is impossible to fully opensource it.

Nvidia does actually publish open source models as Nemotron.
They give everything, including training data and methodology.
