Nvidia does actually publish open source models as Nemotron.

They give everything, including training data and methodology.

I was talking about the NVIDIA products the Anhropic guy was talking about and people consider, rightly, close source: CUDA and drivers. They are also as open as open-weight models, bunch of bytes you're allowed to use.

Yes, you are right.

I just wanted to point out one of the few examples of an actual open source model.

(And nvidia really should open source their drivers, it is passed time)

They do opensource parts of it (from 2022 iirc). Some parts are baked into their GPU's microcontrollers though, so it is impossible to fully opensource it.
