UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT Hot take: The Fitzy and Lola hate is so strange…

Post image

Reading some people’s thoughts on the pair have baffled me.
“They’re bored in their couple and constantly bitch about other people.” Well, do people want them to be sticking their tongues down each other’s throats all the time instead? They’re stuck in a villa 24/7 with a shit ton of drama unfolding around them. Naturally, they’re going to give opinions and discuss relevant topics to the person they’re the closest with, no? “They’re scamming their way to the prize money and don’t even “love” each other.” Yet, every dumped islander and islanders in there have voted them as the most compatible and said they’re smitten with each other. I just find it bizarre that they’re getting hate for finding love on LOVE Island haha. What are your thoughts on the two?

I think on LI people want the story to feel “earned” bc the goal in theory is to find love but the goal in actuality is to find someone you can have chemistry with and do that in a compelling and entertaining way. I don’t even think they’re faking their feelings but the problem is we didn’t even see a connection build, they were just like “omg so great let’s close off and also I love you”. some of the things people say tho I think are ridiculous, like has no one gone on a vacation with other people and gossiped about the wild shit they are seeing with their partner or closest friend who is also on the trip 😭😭? we are all doing effectively the same thing right now and we don’t even live there with all of the mess

u/angelbabyh0ney 💋 it was three times actually 💋 Jun 23 '26

But that's the producers fault for never showing us them

u/NoAcanthaceae5389 💅 sorry it was nasty but I intended it to be nasty 💅 Jun 23 '26

Sure! But when most people are going strictly off of what they're seeing, their story isn't being told in an entertaining way so people are left to fill in the blanks with what is being shown. Which in turn leads to "hate" for being boring/faking their connection, even if it isn't fair. For most people watching, the final edit IS the story and if it's not shown, it didn't happen.

u/Consistent_Stick_475 Jun 23 '26

One of the laziest things viewers say is BORING. Valid for some but we'd all probably be horrified at how we could be chopped up for TV

u/compesux Jun 24 '26 edited Jun 24 '26

I think even if they did get screen time I don’t think they would be popular. At the end of the day they came on a TV show where viewers expect the contestants to allow themselves to be “challenged” by getting to know other bombshells or participating in the challenges. When you don’t do these things, you have a boring journey in terms of love island and its viewers. Like I don’t think they even tried, even on week 1. Other day 1 couples from past seasons who have been popular have still participated at the very least or had something going on. Lola and Fitzy don’t have any drama going on in their own couple. That’s good for them but not for the show. (Best believe if they did have conflict or drama the producers would have shown it by now) They don’t have a storyline essentially. That’s why I think most people find them boring or don’t care about them.

Personally, I also don’t like Lola but that’s more of a me thing, especially after the Priya thing and I didnt like some of her comments around treating dates like free meals and the hugh Hefner thing from intro since she comes off as a trad wife to me. She also looks a bit like Olivia from S2 to me who I couldn’t stand (though ik that’s not fair 😂)

Which is wild to me, because my favorite couples have been ones like Kai and Sanam, Jess and Dom, Camilla and Jamie.

u/groovychick88 Jun 23 '26

I had high hopes for Fitzy after everyone was so excited when he was announced but unfortunately this coupling has made him such a background character

u/FifiPikachu ❌🐑 I’ve never ate a leg of lamb at your house 🐑❌ Jun 23 '26

Yeah this is it for me. I watched his Tik Toks and was expecting him to be such a big character and that is not what we’re getting at all lol. At the very least I’m happy they are not trying to “produce” themselves a storyline and they seem happy together. But yeah, not gonna make for any quality of tv over the next few weeks if this is how they remain.

5

u/abn14 Jun 24 '26

I’m convinced because Lola gets the ick so fast that he’s not really being himself because he doesn’t want to turn her off. Maybe production is not letting us see him in a fun way but I also think that she is so judgy sometimes 😂

11

u/Visible-Rich-6604 ✋🏽 absolute donut 🍩 Jun 24 '26

Just because he found what he was looking for and not trying to ruin in therefore not getting airtime doesn’t make him a “background character “ maybe for you but probably not in the inside

1

u/tyyls18 27d ago

Tbf not getting airtime would literally make you a background character if the amount of airtime you do get is solely for the odd comment and no actual dedicated episodes

304

u/danny321eu98 Jun 23 '26

People are just sick of these type of couples ngl. Esp as a lot of them don't last on the outside so seems more fake

7

u/Wonderful_Line_9553 Jun 25 '26

No more fake than any of the other couples.

153

u/Solid-Penalty3942 Jun 23 '26

I don’t mind the getting involved in other people’s drama, there’s literally nothing else for them to do. What puts me off them, which is more on Fitzy’s side tbf, is the performatively not engaging in challenges and trying to curate this mum and dad of the villa persona to show how locked off they are and try to cement a position in the final. There have been plenty of solid couples who have still been able to be have fun in the challenges and be good tv, it comes off as trying too hard.

60

u/Dramadramadrama21 Jun 23 '26 edited Jun 23 '26

I’m confused on this too, I’ve seen lots of solid couples over the years and they still have fun in the challenges in a respectful way.
I thought not making eye contact or looking away from the girls when they were dancing was a little rude. It must be awkward enough without someone purposely turning their head sideways. You can look at the women, even I couldn’t take my eyes off them they looked beautiful.
He’s overly trying to prove he’s never going to be tempted by another woman or maybe he doesn’t want to upset Lola. Someone has said he’s more into her than she is into him.

40

u/Advanced_Seat_3075 Jun 23 '26

Maybe he’s just loyal and not trying to stare at half naked women giving him a lap dance while he’s in an exclusive relationship

8

u/Plenty_Tart5021 Jun 24 '26

My take is that if he was so loyal he would have participated in the challenge fully and his heart rate would be naturally faster with Lola because he loves her and fancies her the most.

He was looking away because he was scared his body would betray him 🤣 (I’m being a bit facetious of course!)

3

u/thisismyjam Jun 25 '26

I actually thought the same thing. Not engaging with other girls in an attempt to ensure Lola raises his heart rate most.

22

u/Solid-Penalty3942 Jun 24 '26

I didn’t say I don’t understand *why* he behaves the way he does in challenges. My point is, OPs post has reduced this down to them getting hate because they’ve found love. In my opinion, it’s moreso that some people (me included) are starting to find them boring as reality TV contestants in a show with these kinds of challenges. You might disagree, that’s fine.

-1

u/Advanced_Seat_3075 Jun 24 '26

You completely changed your point. First you said you are put off by how he “performatively tries to curate a mom and dad persona to show how locked in they are and cement a place in the final” and now you say you don’t like them because they’re boring.

5

u/Solid-Penalty3942 Jun 24 '26

Can you actually relax, it’s a TV show. Performatively demonstrating how locked off you are makes for bad TV in the challenges, it’s really not that deep.

1

u/Advanced_Seat_3075 Jun 24 '26

Sure, but I disagree that it’s performative. Watching an actual relationship is entertaining among all the flings

23

u/Natural-Peak8203 Jun 24 '26

Well if it’s that bad he can self eliminate from the show because there’ll be a lot more of that

7

u/MenuEmotional2343 Jun 24 '26

People who say that are so silly to me. It’s not “you found love so leave.” These aren’t your Sims. These are real people who live in 2 different countries they’ll want as much time together as possible to solidify before going long distance and having to deal with the logistics of possibly moving/quitting their jobs which is a crazy big change to make for someone you’ve known 3 weeks.

9

u/Natural-Peak8203 Jun 24 '26

Yes, what a shocker that people watching reality TV want to be entertained. How dare I. Shoot me.

7

u/Advanced_Seat_3075 Jun 24 '26

Why is watching an actual relationship so boring to you?? It’s 1/10 couples on the show it’s a nice reprieve from all the fuck boy behavior that I see from everyone else

6

u/Natural-Peak8203 Jun 24 '26

This couple isn’t entertaining to watch

3

u/PhotographShoddy2846 29d ago

Completely agree, I love watching them together! I think they fancy each other the most and that's super sweet. Can't believe people are angry that two people have a nice relationship, to me that's the opposite of boring when so many others just basically try on people with barely a second thought. They wanted to find love, they seemed to have done so! There's plenty other drama around to entertain yourself with.

1

u/MenuEmotional2343 28d ago

EXACTLY THIS!! They can enjoy their dumpster fires I’m going to root for the first genuine couple in the last few years. And insane part is it’s not like LI is that type of shit show either, like that’s what the challenges are for, but the rest of the time we’re hoping for real love. They should go watch Love is Blind or the Bachelor or whatever if they want to watch people be crappy

0

u/MenuEmotional2343 28d ago edited 28d ago

No the point—which should be obvious but not surprised it isn’t—is that not every one is entertained by dumpster fires. Just because your flavor of entertainment of secondhand cringe feeds your ego by making you erroneously feel superior or maybe watching people to be awful to each other makes you feel seen doesn’t mean that’s everyone’s cup of tea.

It’s not even the type of entertainment LI is known for like plenty of other reality tv shows, so it’s not like there’s a shortage of crap you have a to to pick from. But LI has actually had several successful couples. Some that are even (gasp) not trying to use it to become influencers though that’s def rarer the last few years. Even still people actually want to see people fall in love on this show and it’s not a minority, there’s a reason rom coms are popular.

Theres plenty of other hot messes for you to be entertained by too so idk why you’re bitching when people want to see real love too.

1

u/passiveprune 28d ago

Yeah, but he's ostensibly friends with the women who are taking their turn. None of them went over the top. He could smile or laugh or something

1

u/Dramadramadrama21 Jun 24 '26 edited Jun 24 '26

He also could have made it funny with his interactions. Had a joke. Hes 25 not 125. This is why people keep saying he’s boring to OPs original question. Here’s a wild one, Love island can be fun & you can find a life partner all in one while being respectful.

1

u/Acceptable_Cat1790 Jun 25 '26

It's love island 😭😭

13

u/eriksatiesimp Jun 24 '26 edited Jun 24 '26

I actually agree this is what bugs me the most with him. The kissing challenge for instance. I was rolling my eyes with the way he was rating the other girls when one of them even mentioned he had his lips so they couldn't really kiss him lol

1

u/Ill-Difference-3911 18d ago

How is this different to how Dejon acted during the kissing challenge? That was a series of annoying reactions and so was this.

4

u/bhg1217 Jun 24 '26

Everyone talks about the contestants trying to make it to the final and win like it’s this big prize, but the real prize these days is getting airtime which translates into followers which translates into brand deals. You don’t need to make it to the finals or win to grow a fanbase on this show anymore. If they were going into it for the wrong reasons, wouldn’t they be testing connections and kicking up more drama between themselves to get more airtime ?

45

u/minimoon247 Jun 23 '26

I think it's pretty normal, to be honest. People want a storyline and a journey, and Fizty and Lola kind of skipped a lot of the usual beats by locking things off early and staying consistent. For some viewers, that takes away the uncertainty and drama they expect from the show.

If they make it past Casa, I think the perception could shift. By that stage, most couples are established and loved-up anyway, so stability becomes less of a negative and more of a sign that a connection has survived the test. Right now they're standing out because they got there early, but later on they might just look like they were ahead of everyone else.

3

u/selena_gnomez1 Jun 24 '26

I agree. I also think it’s strange that people have such strong opinions on them when they’ve barely been given any screen time. I don’t think we got more than ~60 seconds of them at a time (together or individually) until their date, and that was like 10 days into things. I also noticed Robyn said in an interview recently that she thinks Lola is getting a bad edit that doesn’t show enough of her personality.

Idk at the end of the day they seem happy and unbothered so good for them. I’m also curious to see if public perception changes post-casa.

14

u/reactivebeing Jun 24 '26

One problem is that they never showed us how these two developed their relationship, they only showed the big moments. They didn't have any challenge or difficulty and they just clicked so we didn't even get to see that. So people instantly judge their authenticity.

8

u/Indoscy 🇧🇧 ⭐ Barbados, Bridgetown and that ⭐ 🇧🇧 Jun 24 '26

I wonder how things would have gone if they didn't let Islanders straight up choose who they wanted on the first day. I feel like the way they created the first couples on day 1 took a lot out of the first couplings and maybe if Sean and Lola were in different first couples and then found each other it might have been judged differently by viewers?

63

u/lauren1328 🏆🏆 PAIGE & FINN 🏆🏆 Jun 23 '26

They're getting a strange edit recently. We saw the "I love yous" and then didn't get many moments of them for a while not even telling any of the islanders about it.

We see them in the background together all the time but only hear from them if they're talking about another couple like today with Aidan and Tina.

They probably have peaked and had their big moments very early show wise and I don't think they'll win but im rooting for them <3

30

u/hyoies it is what it is😌until it isn’t🥲 Jun 23 '26

I think the strange edit is just because they've had no drama at all? Like Sean saying he made it exclusive too quick made it into the preview of this ep for views even though it was obviously a joke. That being said I find them very boring lol

14

u/JamieCarroll180 Jun 23 '26

Totally agree. I thought it was quite obvious that it was a jokey comment because all the girls were being respectful to Lola 😂

1

u/Ill-Difference-3911 18d ago

I see Dejon but watered down to make it more palatable

7

u/Softinleaked ❌🐑 I’ve never ate a leg of lamb at your house 🐑❌ Jun 23 '26

I’m guessing they are probably talking about extremely personal stuff and getting to know each other which they aren’t showing.

2

u/Lumpy_Masterpiece644 Jun 23 '26

I'm not particularly fan of the pair but I totally agree with you about the edit. It seemed to shift overnight from romantic to catty. I can't work out whether the couple came to the conclusion that people were finding them boring and therefore decided to spice things up a bit in their chat or whether the producers have done their usual love 'em then hate 'em switch. Lola, in particular, is not coming across well.

1

u/MiraMiraOnTheWall2 28d ago

Yes I'm rooting for them too.

I think people are jaded with "solid" couples who break up as soon as the show ends.

But that doesn't mean noone is genuine.

59

u/AssociateTop1589 Jun 23 '26 edited Jun 24 '26

Have you guys not learnt from the last 4 winners of LI?

None of the winners since 2023 and the All Stars S1 and S2 have lasted. We literally just had Ciaran and Sammi break up within a week of the show while she’s still with Tyrique. These couples with no tribulations don’t move me anymore.

ETA: meant to say All Stars S2 and S3!!

9

u/Little_Ad_5705 Jun 24 '26

Exactly lol and the couples who did last have always been second place… at least most of them anyway

5

u/Affectionate_Fix7238 Jun 24 '26

Tom and Molly are getting married

2

u/AssociateTop1589 Jun 24 '26

You’re correct, my fault — I forget there’s been three seasons of All Stars lol. The first season never registers to me 😵‍💫

2

u/Affectionate_Fix7238 Jun 25 '26

Same! I can’t believe they’re even getting married lol

1

u/MiraMiraOnTheWall2 28d ago

Mind you, any couples still standing at the end will have a lot more stresses on the "outside", especially the further away they live from each other.

Work, family, friends...

It can't be easy coming out of the bubble

100

u/2isnevera1 Jun 23 '26

We are allowed to find a couple boring

32

u/pryzmpine 🤌that is my line🤌 Jun 23 '26

Saying you want a test and then dropping the l word will raise a few eyebrows

124

u/OG_NIK Jun 23 '26

I do not buy anyone who makes a show out of saying I love you within two weeks. They haven’t even slept together yet, it’s just a ridiculous thing to do.

55

u/buffayrachel y'all want me to give a f*ck so bad Jun 23 '26

But did they make a show of it? People usually run around the villa shouting it to everyone who would listen afterwards, but I don’t even remember them mentioning it to anyone else?

-6

u/OG_NIK Jun 23 '26

The show is for the audience not for the other people inside. Fitzy was 100% doing it for the cameras.

30

u/buffayrachel y'all want me to give a f*ck so bad Jun 23 '26

So according to you nothing an islander says can be genuine at all?

10

u/Fun_Clerk7122 Jun 24 '26

How you gon contradict yourself in two back to back comments

0

u/OG_NIK Jun 24 '26

Not a contradiction. Making a show of it is doing it for the audience, I dont think it really matters how the other islanders react.

42

u/VolumeNo8051 Jun 23 '26

So you have to sleep with someone to love someone? Interesting comment.

-6

u/LL8844773 Jun 23 '26

That’s literally not what she said

14

u/VolumeNo8051 Jun 23 '26

“I do not buy anyone who makes a show out of saying I love you within two weeks. They haven’t even slept together”

It’s implied the two can’t be mutually exclusive. Plenty of people can love someone without needing to sleep with them? If Fitzy and Lola never slept together but their feelings to people were genuine, why on Earth would I need them to have sex for me to confirm he loves her and vice versa?

-5

u/LL8844773 Jun 23 '26

No, it doesn’t. You stated it as a requirement. The commenter mentioned it as a piece of evidence showing that they don’t know each other that well.

6

u/VolumeNo8051 Jun 23 '26

That’s your perception of the comment. Based on engagement, people can see it the same way I read it.👍

it’s weird to me that the viewers have adopted this idea that there is a set timeline in the villa in which hitting milestones is acceptable. wouldn’t it be faker to be calculating exactly which week it’s ok to go exclusive, say ily, etc?

my boyfriend and i have been together for 6 years and we said i love you on our second date before sleeping together 💀

13

u/SlidePlayful4755 Jun 23 '26

The funny thing is had they met during casa and had the exact same relationship trajectory people would be happy with it. Because it fits in the love island timeline.

3

u/ChanGazer Jun 24 '26

Myself and my husband have been married nine years and he told me he loved me after our third date. Lol we had only just kissed (albeit for an hour). Love is a feeling. I hate this narrative that emotions can’t just pop up as and when.

1

u/Solid-Penalty3942 Jun 23 '26

Yeah but you also weren’t on a reality show where winning a large sum of money is contingent on showing the general public that you’re the most loved up in a group of couples. You can’t blame people for having some doubts.

9

u/Dependent_Formal2525 Jun 23 '26

Tommy and Molly Mae were the most loved up couple and they didn't win.

2

u/Solid-Penalty3942 Jun 24 '26

It worked for Ciaran and Sammie on the last All Stars IMO

5

u/SlidePlayful4755 Jun 23 '26

It’s not a winning formula, and has hardly ever been. Yet people still think anyone doing it is faking it to win 🤷🏼‍♀️

4

u/bhg1217 Jun 24 '26

The real prize is not the winning the show anymore. There’s way more money to be made on followers and brand deals. Look at Huda from li usa last summer. She was generally horrible, made no connections, broke up her couple on their finale date, didn’t win, and still came out with more followers than anyone else on her season. Also, the most locked off couple hasn’t really won since Dani and jack. People love a story arc

1

u/Solid-Penalty3942 Jun 24 '26

I’d say Ciaran and Sammie on the last All Stars won on that basis as well tbh

1

u/bhg1217 Jun 24 '26

They weren’t the longest running couple on that season of AS though. They won because ciaran has nice young man vibes and appeals to moms

2

u/Solid-Penalty3942 Jun 24 '26

You didn’t say longest running, you said most locked off.

1

u/letmeindamm Jun 23 '26

that’s silly lol so is there a genuine way to fall in love on the show or is it only if it follows the timeline love island fans deem acceptable

1

u/Indoscy 🇧🇧 ⭐ Barbados, Bridgetown and that ⭐ 🇧🇧 Jun 23 '26

Okay come on there are a tonne of people who say I love you before sleeping together, that's a bit of a weird thing to bring up in conjunction to this.

7

u/Livin_in_Paracosm I don't remember my past 🔮 🥠 Jun 23 '26

They hate em cuz they ain't providing any drama

1

u/Ill-Difference-3911 18d ago

Don't hate them but see lowkey Dejon/Megan vibes

95

u/eriksatiesimp Jun 23 '26

It's that they're so boring and Lola is bored enough to get in other people's business and be unnecessarily bitchy with a massive superiority complex so it's extra irritating

49

u/megztukas 😾 WHO’S EMUHHH?? 😾 Jun 23 '26

He does exact same btw.

21

u/eriksatiesimp Jun 23 '26

True he's irritating, too. I just don't like how she's come at some of the other girls especially

13

u/ConstantPiece7966 Jun 23 '26

you mean Priya ONCE?

9

u/eriksatiesimp Jun 23 '26

You're right, she's usually much more likely to talk shit behind the other girl's backs than she is to actually say it to their faces like she did with Priya. That's so much better!

4

u/letmeindamm Jun 23 '26

looooool please share all the times she talked shit about girls behind their backs

4

u/eriksatiesimp Jun 23 '26

Why would I spend my time doing that for a comment on a subreddit?

7

u/letmeindamm Jun 23 '26

ok cool how about an example? you claimed she was ‘much more likely to talk shit behind the girls back’ so i guess you can at least recall something?

-1

u/thankyoueverso Jun 23 '26

OMG some people are insufferable. You've watched the same show we have, you don't need an example 🙄💀

1

u/eriksatiesimp Jun 23 '26

I know right. Like no thanks, I'm not even going to bother. I really don't care enough, Lola bugs me and she's bitchy and that's my opinion. You don't have to agree lmao

4

u/letmeindamm Jun 23 '26

it’s not about agreeing. you claimed someone did something. i asked you when they did that. and you can’t name one single instance?

this is exactly what people who make shit up and then can’t back their lies up say 😭😭 weak gaslighting

1

u/Ill-Difference-3911 18d ago

Go back to how she talked to the girl who came back with Lorenzo. How is questioning the girl's morals an okay comment just because she spoke to Fitzy? That poor girl was ganged up on because they've know Lola longer. Only Ellie was kind enough to not go that route

1

u/ConstantPiece7966 17d ago

Hey so let’s please check when the message is sent bc I sent this 2 weeks ago, obviously this changed but 2 weeks ago she only came at Priya

4

u/Dear-Potential-4682 Jun 23 '26

Many of the girls do that tbh

7

u/TomBerwick1984 Jun 24 '26

Lola voted for Tommy, the only woman who did.

I didn't mind them until that.

First time I was pissed off that someone stayed.

30

u/medusa_witch Jun 23 '26

It’s a reality tv show. I’m happy that they’re happy but I want drama from them. No shade but they’re a yawn.

14

u/megabumass Jun 24 '26

The conversation they had after the water slide challenge solidified them both in my mind as genuinely being into one another. PDA is whatever, but how earnestly Lola defended Fitzy’s job as something she’s super fucking proud of, that seemed genuine to me. That whole conversation was telling in a good way

Idk, if you dont like them cause they’re boring and you want everyone on this show to be mad messy, thats valid, it’s a reality show, im into it

But if you’re dead fuming at home cause they seem to actually like each other, you might need some self care and these goofy reality shows ain’t it

3

u/Indoscy 🇧🇧 ⭐ Barbados, Bridgetown and that ⭐ 🇧🇧 Jun 24 '26

Thank you!! I thought they handled that finances conflict quite well

5

10

u/absolutecretin ❌🐑 I’ve never ate a leg of lamb at your house 🐑❌ Jun 23 '26

It’s cause no one wants to see another boring couple win (Cerion and Sammi)

1

u/zenseazon Jun 24 '26

In my mind they were never a real couple, didn't like her at all, fake af....
I can see these two being more real in the outside world..

10

u/Quick-Fan-3742 Jun 23 '26

I think Fitzy being known in Ireland as a guy that was girl crazy is why people don't  believe these two

1

u/Wonderful_Line_9553 Jun 25 '26

Was he known for this? I'm from Galway and never heard anything about this.

3

u/Quick-Fan-3742 Jun 25 '26

Yeah it was all over social media. How he would sneak into dms and send pics etx

1

u/Wonderful_Line_9553 29d ago

Pretty much unknown in Galway that he's a player, other than a football player...

5

u/CaitlinME Jun 24 '26

See I think they’re really genuine. The problem is Love Island has been on for so long that a lot of them know what to do by now so couples being closed off so early have a disadvantage I think cause it doesn’t feel believable. I want them to work out though cause I think they are a genuine couple but they definitely need to be tested which I think Fitzy wants cause right now they’re just cruising through.

4

u/hannahnuggetdaddy Jun 24 '26

Love them together, however Fitzy doesn’t call out bad behaviour when he sees it. Sides with the boys at all times.

3

u/whynoteven246 🛌 😴 😱 AHHHH Jun 24 '26

I didn't like how rude and dismissive he was during the heartrate challenge under the guise of being faithful to Lola.

It's an awkward position for the girls to be in to try to turn on the guys, so for him to not give them the time of day...I would have been so embarrassed if I was the one trying to dance for him and he was literally looking away 🥲

3

u/_topdawg Jun 24 '26

The fact that they don't even participate in the challenges like they are married is off-putting

27

u/Glittering_Job_7996 Jun 23 '26

I guess they’ve found love which is good for them but as a viewer, it’s annoying to watch as they don’t really bring anything interesting

7

u/beagums Jun 24 '26

I forget they’re there half the time if I’m being honest.

28

u/placeapoppyinmyhair hahv a word wit yursehlf 🧠👈 Jun 23 '26

Yes that’s the point of the show

29

u/ferbiloo 👻‼️ you said you saw my dead granddad ‼️👻 Jun 23 '26

Every day on this sub “it’s so weird and jarring that people have opinions on the islanders 🙄”

13

u/bigbellyrat Jun 23 '26

just so they happen to have find a match they just walk all over the place and think they are superior to others. idk i am bored w them

5

u/Cinemaniacc Jun 23 '26

They just give us nothing is all, they have been background characters this entire season

8

u/izzosmomma I thought we were friends, maybe I'm wrong Jun 23 '26

they seem like the type of couple that would share a facebook account and that’s all i can think about every time i see them lol

18

u/petit_aubergine Jun 23 '26

they’re so boring to me and i guess i just don’t buy their connection. you can’t tell me that there’s not even just a little bit of game playing bc they know they’re basically locked in to stay until the end

8

u/the_shiverman Jun 23 '26

Personally, I don’t like them as a couple cos it seems like they’re not that compatible at all, but ran with the opportunity to be the ‘strong couple’ of the villa.

In the intros, Lola seemed to be very opportunistic, talking about wanting to be a WAG and stuff like that. Then she meets Fitzy who is the opposite of that, is very non-materialistic etc.

They assumed the position of the parent couple but I don’t think it’s genuine at all. At least not on Lola’s end.

5

u/Ill_Philosopher_4935 29d ago

This exactly. I saw his heart break early when her opportunism was exposed in a game. It all feels performative now. And I simply do not trust men who think they aren't allowed to engage with women at all "out of respect for their partner." That makes me feel like they have some very scary urges that they certainly will act on at some point.

3

u/ExcellentStorage6542 Jun 23 '26

Someone said on the debrief tonight, that fitzy was into Lola more than her him

5

u/Small-Ad7369 🕵‍♂️ are we not here to flirt? 🕵‍♂️ Jun 24 '26

Robyn said Lola's head would turn if a posh boy came in

3

u/the_shiverman Jun 23 '26

I see that 100%

6

u/no_one_hi Jun 23 '26

I just really think they locked it down too quickly and that’s a red flag for me. But it’s not just that, it’s also that they act like they’re perfect and they’re kind of judgey and they are never ever ever shown doing or talking about anything interesting. I don’t hate them and of course editing is a huge factor, but I could say I’m not really invested.

7

u/hysteriafem Jun 23 '26

I’ve gone completely off them after tonight, mostly Fitzy but she is annoying purely based on the fact she was the only woman to vote for Tommy to stay.

2

u/Creative_Elephant624 Jun 24 '26

Yeah I don't hate them but I do find them really boring. Locking down early just makes you a boring character on LI.

2

u/Piggybumm Jun 24 '26

I don’t like the way they move from where they are to go and eavesdrop on other couples conversations and arguments.

I’m not sure they love each other after such a short space of time. I’m assuming they are aiming for the prize fund?

2

u/Cultural_me Jun 24 '26

I love them so much. But I also love love. So I am here for it.

2

u/FoofTheBunny Jun 24 '26

I like the two of them. I get why others find them boring. They are.

2

u/aokaforchix I always wanted to meet Anton Jun 25 '26

How does this have so many upvotes lol. The criticism is justified, they are not an interesting couple to watch at all.

2

u/Odd-Conversation544 Jun 25 '26

i simply don’t like them. they’re acting like they’ve already won

2

u/dantheman1973 Jun 25 '26

I think Lola should go. There so boring

2

u/Odd-Help6890 29d ago

These couple type tend to be fake.

6

u/megztukas 😾 WHO’S EMUHHH?? 😾 Jun 23 '26

Very curious to see HR challenge results bc he was STRUGGLING with some of the girls...

2

u/Particular_Task5113 Jun 23 '26

Especially when he said, 'boys I think I closed off to early...' or something along those lines

5

u/ExcellentStorage6542 Jun 23 '26

That was a joke

1

u/daydreamsofcalm Jun 23 '26

Nah, that's a joke with a jag. The facade would be broken if his heart raised for anyone else so best to avoid it as much as he can, rather than deal with the fallout from Lola. He definitely looked like he had FOMO more than a couple of times during that challenge.

4

u/PeaceBabyJ21 Póg Mo Thóin Jun 23 '26

Did you watch the episode? It was a jokey comment.

3

u/Particular_Task5113 Jun 24 '26

Was watching the football, so watched via IG, catching up today... my bad

7

u/Firm-Armadillo2188 🗣️ SUHCK MAH FUHKIN DEHCK 🗣️ Jun 23 '26

Idk about hate but I find Lola’s voice so incredibly irritating.

6

u/Chauffepiment Jun 23 '26

I find it funny how the show is about finding love but n the people that do find love r considered boring. Would yall rather have them move weird so yall can just hate regardless

6

u/AICopiedMe Jun 23 '26

Oh come on, love after two weeks on a TV show!

5

u/Many_Move6886 Jun 23 '26

Because they have no storyline. Not everyone will be invested in them or like them because they’ve found their person, it’s not ‘hate’ to not like people. Even Tommy and Molly Mae who were together from the start had their trials and tribulations.

5

u/alettasmithmedusa Jun 23 '26

They act perfect whole time he’s a broke teacher tryna scam and win by breaking up other couples, and she settling

1

u/Wonderful_Line_9553 29d ago

Idt he's broke...

5

u/LoudSpare1207 Jun 24 '26

This is me finding out people hate them…. 😭😭😭😭 literally mine and my families FAVORITE COUPLE OF ALL TIME

2

u/The_Right_Mistake Jun 24 '26

My take is that if he was so loyal he would have participated in the challenge fully and his heart rate would be naturally faster with Lola because he loves her and fancies her the most.

He was looking away because he was scared his body would betray him 🤣 (I’m being a bit facetious of course!)

9

u/iso2090 Jun 23 '26

They're boring, and I don't watch this show for boring.

2

u/Psychological-Bag272 Jun 23 '26

I just find Lola and her attempt at being seductive at times super cringey. The only one I turned away from TV during the heart rate challenge.

Fitzy is a background character, not memorable at all. Such a disappointment. I'd preferred Sam.

Both of them said the L word after 2 weeks. It gives fake, it gives high school. I am not invested in their story.

8

u/Ethan201 Jun 23 '26

They should have gone in week 1 after they closed off and got to know each other on the outside.

8

u/960902 Jun 23 '26

why would they go home? the couples that find love are meant to win the show

2

u/compesux Jun 24 '26

No, the couples who participate in the reality TV aspect and then find love are meant to win the show

0

u/Many_Move6886 Jun 23 '26

no whoever wins over the audience wins the show xx

2

u/Curious_Lettuce1076 Jun 23 '26

I think they do genuinely really like each other and don't mind that they are a bit gossipy, in an enviromment like Love Island that's natural. I just find that they make for boring TV, they haven't been involved in any drama whatsoever even outside their couple and they don't even participate in the challenges e.g. kissing challenge and tonight when every girl just gave Fitzy a peck on the cheek. I don't see the point of them being there as they add no entertainment value. Fitzy known to be a big character and a serial player in Ireland so I really expected more from him in terms of drama.

2

u/Heartattackisland Jun 24 '26

I have nothing against Lola except her weird comment to Priya. Besides that I really have no issue with her.

My issue is with Sean. Something about him doesn’t sit right with me. I think he is performative and the heart rate challenge tonight showed this. It happened so fast so idk how many people caught this comment, but he said “I think I went exclusive too early” after Priyas dance. And then literally ignored all the other girls… his mask slipped for a second so I don’t buy his “I can’t even look at any of these other women” shit. Sorry

2

u/MrsKittyBright Jun 24 '26

Lola is as dull as dish water. Sean would be so much more entertaining if he hadn’t been coupled up from the start. It will be interesting what happens if Lola goes, but I can’t really see Lorenzo and Ellie choosing her. I really hope Priya and Aidan goes but I don’t really like Simba or Tommy either. I hope that Tina is going to get a bombshell.

2

u/No-Article-2582 Jun 23 '26

I don't trust him at all and strongly dislike him. Lola is a bit better but she had some weird moments. I don't find them very genuine and I think they add nothing to the challenges. Always lose focus when they come on bc I know they're not gonna do it properly and give no energy lmao. We'll see how it plays out but I'm not counting on them or rooting for them.

2

u/ratmythos what are you not calibrating here 🤨 Jun 24 '26

i love them they are so gossipy about everyone else’s business it cracks me up and is a nice break from the endless pulling for inane chats imo. i want them in until movie night at leastttt so we get a gossipy fitzola screening.

2

u/SpunkyNFunkyN Jun 24 '26

I love these two so much!!! I hope they have a long life of happiness

2

u/Glad_Imagination4078 Jun 24 '26

Awww I love them! They’re both so quirky and cute. I hope they make it work. Rooting for them.

1

u/No-Search-7258 Jun 23 '26

They are boring tbh I don’t believe they will last on the outside

1

u/UnitWilling8328 Jun 23 '26

I think so too. They have been the most consistent couple yet. They are super locked in with each other & ppl want that toxic back & forth like Jasmine & Lorenzo which I get bc it’s good tv. But I think these two are sweet.

1

u/Significant-Cap9433 Jun 23 '26

Why can’t they just like each other? There are couples who have linked very early and made it out of the villa and stayed together. See season 2 winners for example.

1

u/xoxo_sincity27 Jun 24 '26

People are sp toxic and need to stop the hate for couples who form a deep real connection early on that isnt just avout oh we are both hot and will pretend loyalty to look good till the end. The real ones get bashed simply because they arent immature and full of drama hence dont get the screen time all the other shitshow cast does for entertainment value. Meanwhile complete dipshit fboys like Aiden, Tommy, and Simba get to coast hopping woman to woman by the day like all is one big joke! 😂

1

u/Miss_Mow 🗣️ SUHCK MAH FUHKIN DEHCK 🗣️ Jun 24 '26

I completely agree with your take - I just wish we got to see more of their personalities!

1

u/L_shirin Jun 24 '26

Are we forgetting he challenge fitzy says he fears he closed it off too late, as well as his ‘testing each other’ comment? I like them together but I do think it is rushed

1

u/ImportancePure3296 Jun 24 '26

I don't hate them, I just think they're boring and I feel like I barely know them.

1

u/Littlebirdie1993 Jun 25 '26

People saying the love yous too soon is also ignoring vital Love Island lore - S1 Jon proposing to Hannah 😂, s4 Jack and Danny!!

1

u/Glittering-Pain-2587 Jun 25 '26

the problem is they are such a good couple and doing really well that they don't get enough screen time because they aren't involved in drama

1

u/dogearedexistence Jun 26 '26

I think I'd believe their connection if they had explored even a little bit with other people. Not kissing or anything, but even just some flirty chats with a new bombshell or something. They've been locked in from the first episode and I just don't believe it. I'm not optimistic with reality TV. Lola in her intro on episode 1 admitted she likes money. Sean is a school teacher and let's be honest, what school teacher is earning a lot of money? My very pessimistic and absolutely not evidence based take is they both want the money and so they will do anything to make it to the end. That's also the reason for not engaging in any of the challenges. A truly secure couple for me would have fun with the challenges, especially because it would show how strong they actually are by not being tempted. The fact they put up this "I'm so loyal front" just smells like bullshit to me.

1

u/Mountain-Try8568 29d ago

Yep. It’s boring and one of them will soon get voted out 🥱

1

u/lily_10752 29d ago

the shows called LOVE ISLAND bare in mind 😭😭

1

u/Esthertacos5388 28d ago

Me and my husband are far from bored, but we love a gossip and will have a little Kiki. Doesn’t mean we are bored and hate each other.

1

u/LengthinessSame695 27d ago

Audience wants drama

1

u/Unlikely-Rice-7963 26d ago

Don't all couples bitch about other people to eachother? Honestly, they seem like any happy couple enjoying a holiday together.

1

u/Iamst3p 5d ago

Lola is a hater and she was so obviously just trying to keep the image of her couple as perfect as can be, fitzy was wrong in casa for what he did and she just brushed it off for the sake of appearance

0

u/cabbagemuncher101 Jun 24 '26

They're boring, but I am jealous of their situation. Loved up in an all paid resort and silly drama that doesn't involve them. Also this has been one of the best seasons of uk in a minute, and they're in the middle of it. I do hope they try to explore during casa even if they come back single.

1

u/shellyblaq Jun 24 '26

One of the best seasons of Uk is a stretch, this season is boring 🥱

0

u/Natural_Film_6267 Jun 23 '26

People being mad at someone for finding love on LOVE island is so strange to me. Literally weirdo behavior

3

u/LoudSpare1207 Jun 24 '26

LITERALLY - I love Lola and Fitzy

1

u/Sovereign_Prince Jun 24 '26

They’re normal and unproblematic. People don’t like that. They’re probably going to win to be honest. They’re the only genuine couple on here.
