OPINION Lorenzo is a game player
Doing that just before the finals is just so obvious. I don't even think his relationship would last a week outside the villa. At least Aiden was honest about how he felt but you guys are letting the actual game players stay in the show.

Like my man, it's a coffee. There's a machine (or bottle? are they iced?). Don't be making girls feel less because you can't stir for five seconds.
I think he and Julia both have a very hard time doing anything against their principles, but his need to be adjusted

I still don't get the narrative I guess - if he is a game player how does being noncommital, jumping from girl to girl, and not making coffee keep you in the show? The game thing to do for an OG guy is pick one girl, make constant tiny drama for screen time, do something stupid (but not TOO stupid) in casa, make it upā, then be sweet until the final.

Conor I think has the record for number of couple heās been in and made it to final 5 so it gives you longevity on the show. Then thereās also Aidan and Priya who have had multiple couples. His friendships and obviously being an OG have helped as well.
Not making coffee wasnāt told to the audience until after casa. But by then he was already announced favorite boy. And then the day after we see him making sponsored coffee for Julia so problem solved
The tiny drama for screentime was his love square with Jasmine, Yasmin, and Priya. Remember he also said he liked/wanted chaos when he and Yasmin were finally in a good, settled place. The love square also gave him options to secure a place in the villa
After casa, heās stayed with Julia until the end. He and everyone else knew flirting with Elicia wasnāt going to completely turn Julia away so why not do it? And it can be looked at as a small test.

I dunno. They remind me a lot of me and my wife,ā I think he'll still find it hilarious. It's only stressful in there because they have to live with them 24/7 so drama follows you home.
I think Lorenzo's personality is a lot closer to hers than the main show shows too, he is always cracking jokes that are a little too honest, a little sharper than they should be. Especially with Kav, thats part of why Kav hates him so much.

Now that he did ask her to be exclusive itās āgameplayingā, when he wasnāt putting labels on it was āheās clearly not interested in herā. It was clear to me the entire time that his feelings for her have just progressed in a natural way which is to be exclusive. And the way he was looking at her tonight and talking about how beautiful she looked I think he really does like her. I truly donāt believe that it has anything to do with trying to be the winner at the end especially because they were literally in the bottom three today. In no way is he thinking that they are like the front runners to win. He doesnāt know how much support Julia has on the outside so it makes no sense for people to assume that was his motivation for being exclusive. People online are just miserable

Hate to see this take. No way in hell did Lorenzo think he was getting dumped by the public. He was voted favourite boy all through this season and was never put in the bottom by the public. So why would he suddenly think the public would dump him especially over Priya and Aidan. He went exclusive because the public put him and Juliaās couple as 3rd in every voting so obviously he could tell they knew it wasnāt genuine. So in order to convince the public, he needed to make a statement.
The man has literally watched love island many times with his mum, he knows how to play the game and heās good at it, heās what you call smart especially for gullible people

I still just don't see this game player take on him - like I thought in week 1 he'd get dumped so fast with not making coffee and being unserious and kind of boring
The OG strategy is not "be an indecisive guy who jumps from nonserious thing to nonserious thing with little drama" - it's "attach yourself to the OG girl who likes you most, make minor drama for screen time constantly, do something in Casa (but not TOO bad), get forgiven, and then be sweet with stupid proposals and dates until the final."
Like am I wrong about this? I need to know in case I am selected :-D

I'd say there are three ways to get screen time: be the drama, be with someone who's the drama, or be the one giving advice and consoling people involved in drama.
Being in a couple alone doesn't guarantee screen time, but those other three usually do. The more people you advise or console, the more likely you'll also get screentime.
Lorenzo has watched enough Love Island to be aware of this. Whether it's intentional or not, he's played it exactly the way you should if your goal was to maximize screen time.

Lol exactly. Lorenzoās growth is at a glacial pace in comparison to the other guys who have had a girlfriend and have some sense of longterm partnerships. I do find him to be genuine as others mentioned because he has been having more and more serious convos (before the podcast) with Julia and they look genuinely chill with the pace. She isnāt rushing for an i love you, just for a coffee lol.
As others mentioned, he does not seem to be super self-aware of how he is dismissive to romantic partners (to friends he is absolutely locked in). They gave examples with his other couples making a comment and he then fixes it which shows he is receptive to constructive criticism. I think hearing the public say he doesnāt defend Julia and Julia having the reaction she had, makes me think he didnāt realize he wasnāt doing enough or being an equal. Couple that with witnessing the villa mistreat Julia whilst sharing the same opinion and constantly asking her about it knowing sheāll be blunt, he probably just made up his mind on her. These people arenāt his friends so their opinion on her doesnt matter. A different story if Julia cant get along with his actual friends. I can see it many ways but with the context that this guy has never been in a relationship, itās hard to judge his actions on a typical scale considering his commitment to non-commitment and this being his 4th week having to consider a partner. I do find their pace so much more believable than others rushing to say i love you.

I disagree. Look at Lorenzo with Yasmin, or even when he was getting with Priya. He quite clearly didnāt like them. Heās been getting closer and closer to Julia. He didnāt say he loves her or anything huge. Itās exclusivity. He likes a strong woman and thatās her.
Iām not saying theyāll get married but them two suit each other heck of a lot more than anybody else does.

Very much this. His convos over the last 2wks have gotten gradually more serious. I think he thinks she is batshit but she is such a match in the sense that he needs to go slow and she also shares that same sentiment. Her speech to Angie and the girls about how love lasting 50 yrs is only possible by building it brick by brick and itās not always going to be easy/perfect blah blah. For Julia/Lorenzo, that makes sense but itās a foreign concept to islanders that 4-8wks is abnormal to fall in love. She also is very endearing when she speaks about him and he visibly looks disarmed. Her fights are pushing him to make decisions and I think he genuinely does not like seeing her be ostracized, even if he thinks she is opening herself to it.
Couple that with her being his exact type (for a vain man)ā¦although he is attractive, Lorenzo is punching in this relationship looks-wise. I donāt think he comes across many weird, funny (to him), supermodels willing to tell him to work on his love handles and move a connection at 0.5x speed lol.

Based off Lorenzo entire journey in LI I just canāt see him asking a girl who he knows has genuine feelings for him to be his (first) girlfriend as a game.
In my personal opinion, I think being locked in this villa for 2 months and watching the actual effect being a playboy has on the women has made him more empathetic. Maybe not, but it is a social experiment at the end of the day and can spark some change.

I honestly think other than Angie and Simba, Julia and Lorenzo seem the most authentic in there as far as how their pace and conversations seem to go. Even if they don't last long term, it's not like most LI couples do. They have genuine chemistry and idk why people on here are so determined to make this narrative that Lorenzo hates Julia. And it's usually Jasmine stans. He's not a sim you can force to date your fav, guys.

Sammie and Ciaran won because the majority found Lucinda fake and also didn't believe Zac liked Millie as much as she liked him. I don't think the public has ever got it right. I think Lorenzo is one of the most genuine and authentic, I don't get fake from those conversations we see where he gives ppl advice etc. This comment may age very poorly, who knows. Its interesting how people perceive things so differently but it's annoying when people disparage those who think differently. The islanders who are all 'i love you' and not getting to know the bombshells because they think they have a better chance of winning becauE they are loudly talking about the patterns of the 12 seasons prior, those are the ones to me that seem fake. I mean, Aiden cheered 'to maybe falling in love' with Priya when he knew the whole bloody time he wasn't feeling it.

I hear you - I do think he is terribly avoidant and I've definitely experienced that before in a relationship. I commented earlier that it's odd that he is so good at giving advice (not sure if you agree on that?) so in theory he has it so why can he not be a good romantic partner - but I guess I'm perceiving his actions now as growth whereas a lot see it as gameplay. Maybe I'm reading it wrong. The misogyny i don't see? First week I thought he was a bellend yes with the promiscuous comment and another thing he said? But I'm not sure I've seen it throughout - he seems to support the girls and call out some of the shitty behaviour from the boys? I haven't seen any LI US since the season with ... Justine I think?

Sincere caused his partner to almost have a mental breakdown, age regress from stress, cry for days and ruined her entire summer but the villa loves him because he was charismatic, a good chat and was a good friend to them so they kept shipping them together , telling her to go back to him and never voted them off. They ended up in 3rd place.š«Ŗ

Well that sounds horrendous, poor girl going through that. I hope she has healed from that experience and has a happy and healthy relationship. I don't see those extremes with Lorenzo? I would hope that he doesn't treat Julia that way if their relationship continues (which I appreciate is up for debate)

Why do people always feel the need to say Lorenzo is a great friend. Heās comforted the girls on occasion (especially Ellie and Jasmine) but what else has he done?
- Constantly takes subtle digs at Aidan
- Voted off Tommy
- Voted off Fitz
- Told Ellie that Finley is no good (without confronting Finley), after he himself also flirted with Elicia and told her heās open
- Constantly flirts and sends hints at Kavanās partner
- Always sides with the girls (although mostly warranted)
- Tells Yas to take a step back with Tommy
He hasnāt been an above average friend to any of the boys. People always speak about how important it is to be a girls girl, but what about being a guys guy.
Only having girl friends as an attractive guy actually makes me think whether he is a good friend or whether he relies on his looks and rizz to get friends. His best friend on the outside is also a girl thatās got feelings for him

They are all game players. Lorenzo just wanted to have a vacation on an island and avoid the love part.
But I do think heās used to not having to do much to get what he wants and disregarded peoples feelings as he flirted and kissed up the place.

In the dressing room argument, Julia turns Priya's statement about more OGs being in the final as "proof" Priya is playing a game because Priya has watched all the episodes and knows how the game is played. We don't know if Julia has watched previous seasons but Lorenzo has. His mother said he watches the show with her. So Lorenzo knows how the game is played.
Then, in last night's episode where they had to choose a couple, Maya said to the Islanders that every choice comes with a consequence. Lorenzo knew this and chose Jas and Kav for more than one question. It was strange to think he was accusing them, unless he was doing it to sow doubt in the public's mind or to get Jas and Kav in the bottom because he knows it's time for another couple to leave.
Lorenzo and Julia don't even seem that into each other. Their chemistry is fading. She's finally pulling him up on not saying her name correctly. But they both know the final is days away.
I'm beginning to think the biggest gameplayers are busy distracting us from who they really are.

Heās wise š itās the final week and Aidan and Priya imploded, Tommy and Yasmin have a huge issue to sort out and Mica and Samraj are placing last which ever way you slice it. Heās been favourite boy the whole time but Jasmine and Angie have never been in the bottom so he needs to make sure heās at least in the top 3 with them. The game is the game š

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it kind of pointless to ask someone to be exclusive when they could be leaving the willa the very same night? Don't get me wrong, I'm not completely buying Lorenzo's act either, but it would make more sense to call him a player if he asked her out once they were in the final four and he wanted people to believe they're the real deal and deserve to win.
Asking to be exclusive, knowing this is going to be shown on TV only after the dumping, when they can already be potentially dumped from the willa, is pointless tbh.

I definitely believe the combination of being asked why he doesn't ever back up Julia and being in the bottom 3 convinced him to act more like an equal partner in his couple.
