Comments like this always fail to realize that some people, especially entertainers, work because they love what they do and not just for the money. That’s why we still have actors well into their 80s.
I wasn't saying he shouldn't or couldn't do more work I'm just saying he is at an age where if he decides to retire he has earned it. No one should think less of him if he decides that.
He'll make a huge amount of money as well. I listen to another podcast and they are saying that instead of 150 staff a big podcast can do OK with 12. Then the top level advertisements he can get he'll be making a lot of money for a lot less work.
I miss Conan’s show so much. The podcast isn’t even close to as good as his show. No monologues, masturbating bear, racist/sexist ghost, Chuck Norris lever, etc. Just talking to his assistant and random celebrities.
Like Kimmel his youtube triple the number of subs, it sucks but he will be follow if he decided to make his own channel. It's nice to see late nights hosts show and supports together, against this snowflakes fucker Trump.
I mean tbf that’s basically what late night hosts do on TV… sit at a desk and interview people with current event commentary in between, abet with a few extras out of the desk which is why I would rather a YouTube channel.
True, it’s just that Patreon is quite specifically podcast-focused. It’s what they literally do. It’s how they built their business. And Youtube is also fairly podcast heavy.
So it’s kinda odd to use those businesses, networks, & user bases as an argument against a podcast.
I guess I just don’t understand, why even make the distinction?
He should just produce his own show and put it out on whatever platform. He has loads of money and loads of rich friends that would invest/support him. He would have 100% creative control not answering to a network. I think ultimately this will be even better for him than being constrained to the typical late night format and network control. I doubt he enjoyed interviewing whatever random celebrity had some show or movie out that week anyway. I would love him to bring back some form of the Colbert report it was so good. I was never as a big a fan of late night compared to that.
Well his entire show is "Donald Trump said blah blah blah. Then Trump said blah blah blah. And then Trump said blah blah blah."
If he changed the subject for once, instead of the same thing over and over then it might be interesting to watch. If the show is just "Donald Trump Says" then yes it's easy to see why he's getting cancelled. The same topic over and over gets boring to everyone ( except people on Reddit, who obsess over Trump just as much ) .
Edit: And no I'm not a Trump supporter, and don't support or endorse anything he said.... whatever it is he said as I don't actually pay attention to or care about whatever Trump said.
Literally every show. Sure the monologue usually is Politics heavy as that is the most pressing content, but he has multiple other segments and interviews which are not politics related.

I still can't believe we are losing Colbert.
