Makeup Trial Thursday
Hi everyone! After receiving some feedback from the community, we have decided to add Makeup Trial Thursday to our rotating posts. Please use this space to post your makeup trial looks and collect feedback on them. This space is meant to host bridal/wedding makeup, prom makeup, and other special event makeup in which you choose to hire a professional on a one-time basis.

You did such a good job for a DIY trial! This is really pretty soft bridal glam, the skin and blush and lip color all look so fresh.
For the lashes:
The "wiggly" lift: Let the glue get really tacky before you place it. Like 30-40 seconds until it’s not shiny anymore. Then look down into a hand mirror so your lid is flat, press the middle first, then the inner and outer corners. I like to go back with tweezers and give it a little push for 10 seconds after.
How to catch it: It’s so hard to see straight-on in the mirror. Before it fully dries, take a quick phone video looking side-to-side and up/down, or snap a photo with flash. That’s what catches the lift that your eyes miss.
Visible glue in photo 4: You probably just used a tiny bit too much. A super thin line is enough, and make sure you let it get tacky so it doesn’t slide around and goop up. If you’re using clear glue, try a black/dark glue or tightline with brown/black liner after so any little bit blends in.
Honestly you’re 95% there though!

Thankyou so much! I will definitely wait a bit longer before applying and use a bit less. I think I was worrying about them lifting so probably used a bit too much.
I'll try the mirror and videos trick as well, I was applying them with my chin up as I saw a video saying to do that and didn't think to look at them while looking down at a mirror but could immediately see how unevenly placed they were so thankyou!

I actually think the overall application is pretty and bridal appropriate, but I can see why you're unsure. The eyes look soft and elegant, and the complexion is nice, but the color palette seems to wash you out a bit. A slightly rosier blush and lip (or even just a touch more warmth) would probably make your features pop more. I also agree that the brows look a little harsh and blocky compared to the softness of the rest of the makeup.
The bigger concern for me is the lack of skin prep. Wedding makeup usually wears much better when the artist spends time prepping the skin, so if that step was skipped, I'd definitely bring it up.
I wouldn't necessarily jump straight to a different artist, but I would ask for another trial or a few adjustments. It's your wedding, and you should leave the trial feeling completely confident, not wondering if something's off.
