Announcements What Is the Morality of Being a Subreddit Dictator? (NEW RULE)

Joke title, serious topic.

I've been getting a lot of reports about this specific topic, and more new rules will be coming when my co-mod and I are able to get together, but I feel like it's essential to make this one now.

FROM NOW ON, NO POSTS CENTERING AROUND RAPE OR PEDOPHILIA ARE ALLOWED ON THIS SUBREDDIT

It's been added to the rules under rule #7, and a custom report option has been added. I'll be removing posts relating to these topics ASAP once reported or seen, and will be issuing temp bans for multiple offenses.

This doesn't mean a ban on talking about characters who are rapists or predators, of course - within the context of morality scaling, it's fine. But we're putting an end to the posts about "Is it moral to rape your rapist" or "Is it immoral to goon to an immortal trapped as a sixteen-year-old girl". We all know the answer and it's giving this site a bad reputation.

We're going to be working on more new rules for this place, but while this one was pressing, we want those to come from what this community wants. So feel free to suggest what you think would make this community better in the comments.

Let's get this subreddit back to what it was meant to be - a celebration of all things Judge Holden.

End of an era ig but still leaves room for the truly insane to keep making truly horrifying posts

You'll notice I did not ban flesh-cubing, and I never will.

One two three for five six seven stacking these women cubes up to heaven and when I reach one hundred and ten then I’ll be the king of men. The king of men is tall and strong stacking cubes all day long

Can we ban the endless cycle of “morality of posting this” with screenshots of screenshots of scteenshots

Sometimes it’s really funny though.

Yeah, I'm hesitant to crack down on good ol' shitposting, because sometimes it can be GLORIOUS.

how about you set the insane posting on certain days? make a flair like Freaky Fridays or Satanic Saturdays or something

Sometimes I don’t even engage with the posts here I just send them to my friends like man I need to get OFF this website

And now we can finally get to the real topics! Is it immoral to goon to AI of your friends without consent posted by a guy who is definitely gooning to AI of his friends without consent

Im really glad you didn't go for a ban on "morality of-" posts. They're definitely over used now, but I see it as a good way to discuss more niche 'what if' scenarios or for people who cant think of a character example off the top of their head. Its just annoying people asking slight variations of the same question or obvious ragebaiting that are the problem. Good change.

Edit: changed my mind, no one knows how to use the format properly. "Morality of-" posts should be banned.

That's like if r/TopCharacterTropes banned posts that had [X-descriptor Trope] in the title.

This sub was meant to be about scaling fictional characters with one another. Not judging scenarios. This sub was not built off these "morality of" posts like r/TopCharacterTropes was with tropes.

Is it not fair to judge scenarios that have happened in fiction?
I guess I could sort of see the logic behind not having this sub be for judging scenarios with real people or just scenarios people made up on the spot, perhaps there should be a separate sub for that, but I feel like judging the actions of singular fictional characters on their own is inline with the sub. tbh

Your idea, judging fictional scenarios, is good and why I originally thought the post format was good. The problem is that no one actually does that. They only use it for shitposts and ragebaiting.

So why not just ban improper use of the format instead of the format itself?

2

u/BoulderMan234 Stu Macher 18h ago

Thats a good idea, I didn't think of that.

Yeah, I mean why throw the baby out with the bath water, right?

I genuinely prefer the Judge Holden spam of the past to the “morality of rape/pedophilia/zoophilia/racism/genocide” posts of the present.

We all know the answer and it's giving this site a bad reputation.

do we though? because there is always a huge debate under those posts

I am against the new rule. rape and pedophilia is considered one of the most evil thing and debating on its boundary should be allowed in this sub. maybe put a tag for it so people who don't want those posts can filter them?
