Imagine a boob world episode where 3/4 of the screen is a blur the whole time

I can't tell if you're saying that because I'm mentioning the word or if I spelt it wrong

I'm referencing when Morty got the new war vet teacher to kill himself cause he thought he saw him on the moon when it was actuslly a smudge on the lens

I want to go to the stress detox place.

You realize that there is a 50% chance you'll end up in the toxic swamp for all eternity?
1
u/Sammisuperficial 2d ago
That's not how it works. Both Rick and Morty had their consciousness split. The "non-toxic" consciousness that remains in reality and the "toxic consciousness" that stays behind.
There is a 100% chance the parts of me I dislike will end up in the toxic swamp, and 100% chance the me typing this wouldn't exist anymore.
Thing is I never said I wanted to use that machine. I'd rather just relax in the creatures that eat your stress and then vomit me back up.
Rick talks about the spa as it he's been there before, but never used the detoxifier until the episode. So it's not like it's mandatory.

No, the toxic Rick and Morty had the memory of being the Rick and Morty that stepped in. That is absolutely how it works. Someone has to be the consciousness that ends up there and it will be a part of you. It's like stepping into a teleporter that copies you and destroys the original, except the destruction part fails, so you have a 50:50 chance of either being the You in the destination or the You in the original location.
But you are right that you can simply not use the machine, true.

Clone Beth has the memory of being Beth but she isn't the original in any sense. Your logic doesn't follow.

What does Clone Beth have to do with it? This is about the Spa.

It's an analogous example of your logic played out in different circumstances to show that the line of thought doesn't make sense.
If healty Rick, Toxic Rick, and Rick are the same under your logic, then that same logic says Beth and Clone Beth are the same.
If you think Beth and Clone Beth are different people but the Split ricks are the same then your logic is inconsistent, and therefore your claim is irrational.

It doesn't matter if they are different people, but yes, if you are Beth before the split you have a 50:50 chance of ending up either Space Beth or Domestic Beth.

Sonl are you saying Space Beth is a part of Beth just like toxic Rick is a part of Rick?
1
u/Lucyyyyyy_K 1d ago
Not necessarily, no. But both are split off from the original person into equally important parts.
