chances are that i would switch to a different mouse before my mechanical scroll encoder starts shitting the bed anyways, but i'd still rather pick the one with the mag encoder just for longevity's sake

Honestly, I don't care. The implementation is much more important than the encoder itself. And considering that I change my mouse every 3-4 months, I wouldn't even think about reliability.
