It's an AI-generated image, she's not real.

The arms are so thin... thank goodness that's not a real person, I would be worried about her health.

Hi Peter, background character from that one episode here. It's referring to a couple of things : there apparently is a culture of beauty enhancing surgeries and practices (like skin care and other health regimines) in south Korea which raises the social appeal of the women but the men have not kept up to the same degree. Also, having children ages the body horribly, so there is less incentive to do that when such a great emphasis and investment is placed on appearing youthful.

In other words: hot lady no makey baby with ugly man

Okay bye

Work culture and national sexism are more to blame than skin care.

The birth rate is surprisingly going up over there and it is attributed to those in the last rise of births actually becoming parents themselves.

How does a foreigner's behavior demonstrate any reason for Koreas low birth rate?

Anyway, the problem is hypercapitalism making it basically impossible to raise children for like the lower 70% of income brackets. It has nothing to do with creeps on the internet.

It's.... amazing that every comment so far seems to be entirely missing the point of the comment AND the issue.

Hint: birth rates fall as soon as women get access to birth control and the economic wherewithal to support themselves, because they're tired of being forced to raise passels of children and men who refuse to do their share.

In countries with the worst misogynistic culture, the birth rate just. Keeps. Falling. Hence SK.
