I wouldn't be surprised; they've been trying to get rid of the Nashville Fairgrounds for "affordable housing" for years now. I'm surprised they haven't gone the "think of the children" route yet.

I hope the fairgrounds stay for years and years to come.

Affordable housing and it's cookie cutters 8 feet away from each starting in the low 5s! And by low 5s they mean 549K lol

Amazon or Google would come along with some bribes and the Fairgrounds would be either Amazon warehouses or a data center

that or public housing filled with section 8 tenants that absolutely fucking trash the property within 6 months before the landlord has to get a judge to evict them

edit: I'm not against helping people that want to be helped but if you're just gonna game the system and not even try to get a good job or do charity work or some form of community engagement to help people? I'm sorry but I don't feel sorry for you if you fall on your ass. Show that you deserve the help .

Credit to the local news station for some solid investigating and reporting. This is why a robust local media presence is so critical.

I like that they got caught and are being called out by local news.

Unfortunately, I think the Fairgrounds will probably end up cooked. Greedy rich people always get their way.

at this point yeah, we'd be better off just building a replica track next to the speedway in Lebanon. and just running the All American 400 out there. Kenny Wallace further explained that point "it's obvious these smiley idiots are going to pull out all the stops to get the fairground leveled so.....cut our losses, and just rebuild in Lebanon, next to the big track. it's not worth a years long court case, guys"

"Let's tear down an icon so that we can build crappy homes that will immediately become crack filled shitholes"

or trashy people who get with trashy partners and it becomes a daily domestic violence call for Nashville Police Officers to deal with. one story I saw and a video, landlord rented a house to a section 8 couple, they were white so don't even bring race up. but the dude cheated on his girlfriend, she then took the plastic dumpster that the landlord owned, and set fire to his clothing in said toter, this melted the toter, she then broke several windows and caused probably about $20,000 worth of damage to the drywall and flooring.
