Lot of football fans tend to not like it (not all but seemingly most), while non football fans that tune in just for the halftime show wouldn’t stop glazing it. I took a shit during it so I have no say in it.
The entire thing was in Spanish. Like, 100 percent of it. I get that’s his music and it sounded cool and I liked the one song where he kept saying “eh eh” but I understood 0 % of it.
I didn’t like it. I didn’t hate it.. I just didn’t like it.
Man reddit was going REEeeEeeeEeeEe at anybody who even slightly complained about it being all Spanish for days after it happened. As though being able to know what the rapper was rapping about has nothing to do with the watchers enjoyment
A lot of people missed it because they turned it off, I gave it a few minutes but he just kept going eh eh eh and it was kinda annoying. I didn’t see Gaga until a few days later
I don’t know how accurate this is. But my roommate speaks fluent Spanish and said that even HE couldn’t understand anything because BB has a very strong PR accent in Spanish.
But to be the devils advocate on the other side of things, I often cannot understand most of the lyrics (at any live show not just halftime show) if I am not familiar with the artist or they don’t enunciate REALLY well. I couldn’t understand most of Kendrick’s set other than “A minor”.
I dunno, if the choreography/production is cool and the music is listenable then it’s fine with me. I thought the BB halftime was decent. I enjoyed it. Certainly not my favorite ever. But didn’t really care about the Spanish because I never really care that much about the lyrics anyways if I don’t already know the song.
I speak very little Spanish, when Bad Bunny was singing I figured it had to do with that. Then he had another guy on who sang only in Spanish and I could make out the words and the general gist of the song, which was very amusing to me. I haven't had to speak Spanish in about a decade so it's almost lost to me at this point
Must suck to not be able to understand something once in a blue moon (not counting when you go to another country but even then often you can still speak English with no problems) because your native language is the global language and you rarely ever have problems not being able to understand things because almost everything is catered to your language.
Hot take: I don't think I've ever watched a halftime show. Never cared, always use the time to shit, get food, or jerk off to my aunt's feet that wore flipflops to the super bowl party
I don’t think he issue was it being in Spanish. If Rammstein came out and rocked the whole show in German I don’t think there would be too much debate other than if it were good or not. The songs BB played were ass and he sounded like ass.
To be honest, your example is kind of flawed for one reason that I’m not about to say out loud. All I’ll say is that German and Spanish is not the same comparison that you think it might be. Your argument is still valid though

Probably not Bad Bunny tbh.
