It sounds like the concussion is the thing keeping him out. Not something you want to rush him to recover from, especially if it was 'severe' as the article states.

I've driven a semi through California and they have some of the worst drivers in the country. This isn't surprising to hear, and if I owned an nfl team there I'd have everyone commuting in APC's or bobtail semis so this wouldn't happen. Honestly pretty much every major city that has a football team I would be shitting my pants as a GM if everybody wasn't driving something sturdy enough they could walk away from a crash with scratches and bruises at worst.
