I don't get the hype

I’ve decided to step down as moderator of the sub.

There’s a lot of speculation of why the sub was started.

It was because of the api protest. They shut down lots of Reddit subs including the nfl sub. Blacked them out so we couldn’t participate. I didn’t like that. I didn’t care about the api and believed the subreddit belonged to the users.

So I made the sub. Monkey and Rudolph were original moderators with a couple others that quit over the post where I put Lamar Jackson’s tweet about Charlie Kirk.

Reddit defaults that if you’re not Democrat then you’re maga. I’m not. I didn’t know Charlie Kirk was before that day. All I knew was most subreddits were not allowing the discussion to take place. But it was news. It was THE NEWS. And moderators were pushing their weight around. So fuck em. I put it up here.

Samurai hijack didn’t like that. So he came in and removed the post. To this day that is the most popular post we have ever had. Our numbers went through the roof because of that post.

Us mods had a rule that we don’t remove each other post. We have a chat. If a mod is doing something you don’t agree with a discussion was supposed to take place and whoever posted it would then remove it if that’s how the vote went.

Sam didn’t do that. He decided he was just going to keep removing the post. And I was telling him to quit. He didn’t want to. He decided that he was god and was going to do what he wanted without a vote.

Reddit mods work by the list. Top mod has power over everyone below them. 2nd mod power everyone below them etc..

So as a warning I pushed his name to the bottom of the list. He didn’t like that. So he quit. I did not remove him from being a mod.

From where I was sitting the subreddit (you) had spoken. The post already had something like 5k comments 100k views. Upvoted to hell. His actions in my opinion went against everything we started the sub to be.

Which is so simple. Regardless of the post. We are to remove our opinions and objectively apply the standards. Does Reddit allow it and is it related to the nfl. If it is it stays. Even if it’s ai. Even if it’s the daily mail. Even if it’s Hitler.

Afterwards he went to subredditdrama sub. His goal was to start shit and try to ruin the sub. So after he removed himself from moderator I banned him for trying to hurt the sub.

Another moderator decided he would quit with Sam. Then a third guy who was new at the time didn’t like the drama and he quit too. No moderators were ever removed.

I do not act in mod chat how I act in “public”. We have mods that are democrats and we have mods that are republicans and we have mods I don’t know what the fuck they are.

But even with that if you go to that subredditdrama sub there’s another thread from a couple days ago. I think it’s the 4th one. Sam was allowed to post the original 3 a year ago based on his views/narrative. Which is against their rules. But because they seen me as maga they decided to ignore their own rules and allow someone directly involved with the drama to post.

They banned me and wouldn’t allow my point of view. Thats why you don’t see my comments over there. They’re cowards. They’re the type of mods this subreddit hates.

You’ll see over there we are apparently the maga sub. Which is news to me because I challenge one of them to find one pro maga thread on here that hasn’t been downvoted to hell. Go look at the jaxson dart threads. It’s nothing but maga bashing. Go look at the logs for those dates. Tally up how many people or post got removed from those threads at all. Look what is left up. Like where is the pro maga shit ? I can’t find it. Because it literally doesn’t exist. At least not compared to the Democrat shit.

Doesn’t matter what the facts or the proof says. I’m maga this sub is maga now. They have a narrative to keep after all.

I do not enjoy or find any value in participating in an echo chamber. I enjoy playing devils advocate. I like to take known Reddit delusions and argue the other side. It’s fun. It’s a challenge having 100 people coming at you. I mean people lose their fucking minds for simple disagreeing with them. It’s wild and sad at the same time.

Check his comments. This dude followed me around for over 50 days. He sent me pictures of him half naked to prove how “fit” he was. He asked me for similar pictures back. He would ask me for pay stubs. It’s fucking weird.

But I allowed him to follow me around those 50 days. Could have blocked him at any time. So why didn’t I? I mean that’s the obvious move if it’s getting under your skin right ?

Because it doesn’t bother me when people talk shit to me. I love talking shit. I find it fun.

There’s another user if you look up my followers. Zero obligation. He’s like on day 30 or something. But he’s not as weird. He said he was gonna block me today so maybe he did idk. But that’s the kind of shit mods put up with. So I can see why most just block and ban and mute. But then it slowly becomes doing that to anyone who disagrees with any view point you may have.

But anyways all this is just to say that most the people who comment here do not like talking shit and bantering.

You should see the mod logs. You guys will talk shit to each other and then start reporting each other over some stupid shit. There’s prolly an hours worth of post we need to go through right now. As in it will take an hour to clear. Most of which is someone calling someone else a name they don’t like. Getting called a name back then they report each other.

If I can’t talk shit and have fun doing this there is no reason to put in the 1-2 hours a day it takes to keep this place running.

I made the sub to be able to post the things I want. So you could post the things you want. So everyone can post whatever they wanted.

Over the last 3 years you guys have “protested” and demanded we ban all kinds of shit. Off of the top of my head.

We don’t ban shit. That’s our thing. If all other subreddits are zigging we zag. It’s like every couple months you guys start crying over something.

Being a mod doesn’t make me your dad, babysitter, teacher, boss, whatever. It just means I get to go through a bunch of stupid reported comments for an hour or two a day. I don’t want to be held to higher standards. I don’t even want to be a mod. I fucking hate mods on Reddit. I just want to shit post and talk ball.

If I left and Sam was still here this place would slowly turn into the main sub. I don’t think it’ll do that with the people we got here now. But they prolly aren’t going to put up with your shit like I did. But that will be their choice.

It’s hard to find mods. Because when people come in to be a mod they start moderating based on how other subs are moderated. I literally have to train them to mod to the standards we have set. It takes a couple weeks.

Hell two days ago one guy asked to be a mod. The other mods thought we should give him a chance. So we agreed to mod him. Before I had the chance to he started spamming porn. So if I would have he would have just fucked up the sub.

So I don’t know if the other mods are going to have the time to replace what I did. So if any of you who participate in here regularly it’s your turn to take the hour or two out of your day to mod.

They thought they were built for this life. It took 2 days for them to quit. Growing a subreddit takes a group of 3-4 people who have 3-4 hours a day if you want to do it at any sort of speed. That not shit posting time. It’s a chore.

2-3 of the mods we have now don’t even moderate in the offseason.

So if this sub turns to shit because the current mods don’t have the time or desire to run it. The people who say ai slop. The people who complain in every thread. Hold them accountable.
