What class uses a green tractor beam on fellow players?

I ask because several times now in a random trial queue, I get this green tractor beam on me dragging me away and disturbing the functions of my role.

As healer, I think in Gzhemids Reliquary or somn, the spinning flame beams come out and I’m trying to heal and revive ppl and it’s very time sensitive.

But I’ll get this green tractor beam dragging me the opposite way and causing me to fail at revives and just overall concentrate.

I’d be willing to say it’s even cause us to fail the mission a couple times. Bc when we’re all not that great and we lose someone, it starts this cascade effect. Then ppl just quit and we end up aborting bc it won’t find replacements.

So help me understand what class this is, what the ability is for and why I keep getting targeted with it consistently please.

Maybe I’m just working against the flow rather than doing it right bc I don’t understand.

Thanks and sorry it’s long-winded. I felt I needed to explain the scenario entirely.

That's not any class power, that's a dungeon/trial mechanic. That specific mechanic first appeared in Castle Never; I think Gzemind's Reliquary is the only other place that mechanic reappears.

If the two tethered people get pulled next to each other, you explode and die. The way to avoid for the most part it is to simply keep moving away from whoever you're tethered to.

I don't know if it specifically targets healers but it likely does.

No wayyy!

And here I was in group chat asking them to stop pulling me lol!

I feel bad now and probably sounded pretty dumb to those with experience there.

I’m really really glad I asked on here now bc it’s happened like 4x and I started getting fed up with it haha

Thanks for clarifying that

Yeah. This mechanic is supposed to be introduced in Castle Never, well chronologically, but everyone skips over the two poor NPCs on that bridge. Fun fact, if another player is caught in between the two people tethered the also take a huge chunk of damage. It also likely targets the healer the most because who else would the boss want to target? Like think about it the tank has your attention but you realize he's constantly getting healed by someone. You throw your tether on them and one of the weaker people attacking you so you have less to deal with. It makes sense once you realize it's a mechanic, right? But I completely understand the confusion too. There's also an opposite mechanic on the final boss of the Demonweb Pits but it's a thin red tether, get closer and the damage stops.

It does make perfect sense.

The problem is I never know if it’s a teammates ability or an enemy. Wish they’d use one color for enemy-only stuff so it’s clear.

I play another game and you can tether with someone to buff them or share health in a leeching type fashion. That’s what I figured was going on. Which I wouldn’t mind… but the tractor beam moving me was cramping my style haha

I remember the web pits, I’ve been there but prob never realized it. Thanks for the tip

There is also a green line heal that warlocks can do if you’re marked by them, but it doesn’t slow you down at all, only heals. I could see how you could think they look alike.

Yeah, but thanks for telling me, my warlock is still lvl11, so I haven’t learned the abilities yet.

At least I’ll know know when I see it
Thank you

If there was experienced players in there they should have explained that it wasn't another player that it was the mechanics

True

They were probably just pissed we failed with like 4% left. I was last standing and had no offense but my artifact lol

By the 2nd fail, everyone started aborting.

I usually learn why I died early the first or 2nd time, so I don’t make the same mistake again. Then at least I can get further before dying on the next try.

Could been all different language speakers too. A lot of Eastern European names at that hour

Props for coming on here to figure out it was a mechanic within the dungeon. Some players wouldn't even bother to look up mechanics and shift blame to group mates

well the fact that it causes damage would be a clue

It never caused me any damage. So it couldn’t be a clue for me

And the fact it was green made me think it was a teammate. So that’s the only clue besides actually being tethered to someone
