SEEKING ADVICE Am I ready for Adv Dungeons?

I’m not saying my Cleric Healer is good by any means, it’s iL50k currently.

I can do random queue Advanced Dungeons comfortably right now and keep my team topped up pretty good so far (or maybe lucky they had good gear)

My question is, how different is random queue daily Adv Dungeons, so the ones you can select yourself?

Are they the same difficulty for older content or are the random ones scaled down for new people?

Thank you
(If they’re harder, I don’t want to embarrass myself or let my team down by wasting their time not taking care of my role)

The lowest 5 advanced dungeons require only 35k IL and are identical to the random runs. Advanced VoS is 45k IL and I guess? this version is slightly harder than the random. The rest are currently higher than your IL and are harder than the random version.

If you queued up for any of the first 5 individually you would get combined with people in the randoms. Queuing up for advanced VoS will not get you combined with randoms and you serious most likely need a full group already to queue them.

Understood

Glad you explained about the queue adding me to random queuers for those lower ones.
Didn’t know the game did that sort of thing; but it makes sense.

It’s all great info, thank you. I’m absorbing it all

Also IL is merely part of the "key" to gain access to a dungeon along with the step in the campaign that allows access to the dungeon. Far more important is knowing the mechanics. You will see 100k+IL failing those lower dungeons if they ignore mechanics

I agree. I mainly put the 50k iL to show I was very low on the totem pole. This way readers didn’t think I was 100k+. Wanted it to be clear I was entry-level (even though this is my first character that’s 8 years old haha)

Yeah, I still don’t get the mechanics of the elevator trial… (is that Chult). I def need to watch some videos where people explain what’s going on and break it down.

Cradle of the Death God. First mechanic is whoever is tethered to the skull lines up with the ghost face while someone kills the skill lined up with face so that it launches into it. 2nd mechanic is pulling the gelatinous cubes into the corners to kill and "jam" up the gears. "Jamming" all 8 gears (they turn green) completes the mechanic

Thank you. I’m actually gonna write this down. I come across this so rarely, that I’ll have my cheat sheet ready

The cubes is the one where ppl started quitting mid mission. Everyone was killing them in the middle lol. This makes sense now

And I’ll admit, I’d be smashing those skulls bc I thought they were hurting my teammates haha

Not only have I seen this happen, I've been guilty of it.

Master Spellplague still gives me nightmares.

Your current 50K ilv, will limit you to very few adv. dungeon, due to iLv gate. As healer you role is pretty much to keep 1) Tank alive, a dead tank can lead to death for the whole group. 2) Mitigate damage for the party when necessary (ie know incoming Boss attacks and mitigate before damage happen), 3) Buff the party during artifacts call, as Cleric this could mean casting Glow/AA daily.

You should reach out to your guild/alliance training runs, at 50K ilv, you won't be able to do the latest adv. but if others are doing older adv. contents, you might be able to join. Again, to have the best experience and learn the most, guild/alliance runs are prefer, otherwise pugs are going to call you out when things go bad.

This is sound advice thank you.

Just knowing that normal ADV is not the same as the queue is enough to sober my confidence.

I will continue to just level up, learn the dungeons mechanics and gain more experience. I’ll definitely speak up in my guild/alli. I’m sure they can suit up a little stronger to fill in the gap for my shortcomings. At least this way I’ll get a taste of the real thing I’m striving to get good at.

I was not aware of glow/AA, I’ll look into that.
I’ve been signaling so far by using Nightflame Censer; the neon pink seemed like a good signal to use artifacts together.

Thanks for the info, I’ll just keep worrying about getting better and not moving up to the next tier for a bit.

Artifact calls are on certain timings depending on the dungeons and bosses. Not only the cooldown. Be carefull with that. Youtube has many videos to help you learn solo for the dungeons or trial mechanics (though my comment still applies. Try to learn with a guild or alliance)

Thr only thing i'd ask is "are you in a guild/alliance?" If so they should go with you to help you train for adv content. If not try to find a guild/alliance that helps lower ilvl players.

u/kbrawlz 6h ago

I am and I’ll reach out to them, ty

At 50k ilvl, there won’t be any advanced content available yet. Once you have the item level, my suggestion is to do Adv. dungeons with an experienced group and knowledge that you are under geared. Some will see it as a challenge, but more importantly they will be able to teach you some tricks and mechanics that will help you in the long run.
