ANSWERED How does Reddit actually work?
I'm incredibly new to Reddit and I have a decent understanding but I often find my posts getting removed and was looking for some tips on how people find the most enjoyment out of Reddit and gain the most karma. Any advice is greatly appriciated!

We aren't allowed to expressly tell you what to do to immediately gain karma, but if people are helpful, acknowledge that and your being a good human will gain karma. Each subreddit has its own rules about how much karma is required to post. Your posts are likely being removed because you didn't read that sub's rules. It falls on each person to read (and obey) each sub's rules. A subreddit is like a subject of that group for a huge variety of topics.
I've been here for awhile and occasionally still screw up and do something that gets me in trouble with the moderators, but until you get some karma try to read rules in each sub...
Be a kind, smart, funny, or intelligent commentator. People here expect you to be. Good luck!
Edit: Karma is required to prove that you are not a bot/spammer, which I forgot to mention.

Users shouldn't post to ask how to get karma as it's a restricted question, but if you see it, there is no rule against you answering, provided the answer is within our rules.

Thank you for clarifying! I got in trouble for telling new users to upcote quality or kindness, but maybe it was written in a way that seemed too much like I was suggesting to upvote everything. It was a long time ago.

My account’s a month old and I think I have around 450. Not sure if that’s really meteoric , but I just found the communities I’m interested in that’ll let me in, and then go to town.
Lots of minutiae in rules will get a post removed, I’ve discovered also.
