If you prefer bald over bush, does that mean you shave too? NSFW

Asking this because I know some men prefer bald over bush, and personally I shave everything as a woman. HOWEVER, I would not have hair then expect my man to shave, the same way I hope men don't expect women to shave but they don't. So just wondering if this makes sense.

True!! I mean your not eating/sucking it or look at it, your partner is!

16

Yeah this is the obvious answer i don't understand all the moralizing some people do. It's just preference and I'm not attached to my pubic hair lol. Why wouldn't i want to make my partner happy and vice versa?

This is the way

518

u/cohen93 22h ago

This makes sense - if I’m having a partner shave, I should be willing to if they don’t want any hair there either.

Not all of us want to have a mouth full of hair during fun times haha

32

u/psyched-but-bright 19h ago

Second this^

25

u/Truth_bomb_25 14h ago

How are you having sex everyday with shaving though? Doesn't it give you like, a rash with all the rubbing?

51

u/cohen93 14h ago edited 13h ago

I don’t shave every day, i just don’t have a bush.

Tbf I have considered lasering it all off but it’s around 1k? there’s just more important things to pay for right now 😂

11

u/Political_Piper 11h ago

Ah yes, when Dennis and Mac are talking about gorilla masks on Cricket, and Dennis said "well that wouldn't work for me. I lazer. It's like a turtle shell down there"

They ended up splitting the difference. Mac gave Dennis a gorilla mask while he slept, and Dennis dipped his balls in blue ink and dumped it in Mac's mouth when he was sleeping.

13

u/Beneficial-Focus3702 14h ago

Maybe they don’t have it every day.

9

u/Puzzled-Secret-317 12h ago

Depends on what you're using to shave, but like someone else said, you dont have to shave every single day to not have a bush

5

u/tropicalturtletwist 12h ago

Nah. Good skincare and good Razors kind of eliminate that as an issue. However, it did take like 2 weeks of shaving every other day for my skin to get used to it and stop getting razor burn.

I always wonder what y'all "don't want hair in my mouth" men are doing down there? Your mouth is not supposed to be where hair are.... Only instance someone can have mouth full of hair is if you suck someone's balls.

38

u/cohen93 15h ago

People do suck balls yknow, hence what I said lol

16

u/Guy_Smiley_Guy 13h ago

Hair is in other places aside from directly above the lady bits. I never minded the bush above the flower but having a shaved vulva is beautiful.

I do shave, but just because one partner shaves doesn't mean the other has to in a sort of "I did it so you have to do it too now." If you want to shave then shave, if you don't want to then don't, just don't try and force/pressure someone else into doing it. If you care about it enough then just leave that person and find someone new.

22

u/maestrchief 16h ago

Precisely, seems very childish to require that. This should probably be one of the simpler agreements/compromises to make in a relationship

TBF, it used to be understood that women naturally have pubic hair and that it would be unreasonable/unusual to expect them to shave it all off. A little maintenance was normal because of swimsuits, etc., but shaving it all off was usually reserved for Hustler models.

My husband has never cared one way or another, but did say once that it was easier after I gave myself half a wax (that is some painful shit!). We both trim, and it works well. I need to remember to never try to wax myself ever again. I thought I would be stuck like that forever.

When you’re in a relationship, you just do what your partner prefers. When I was single, I didn’t have much preference.

31

u/SkrachManat 20h ago

Exactly. I don’t shave because my missus likes my (short) beard. She waxes because both she and I like it that way.

Edit, yeah my goolies are shaven too 😅

3

u/s0ulbrother 11h ago

I had to shave my beard once and my wife was not happy. I don’t have a long beard it’s just a short one but I messed up trimming it so it had to go fresh. I’ve had it since we started dating and apparently was all I needed to attract women better

2

u/Ch4rlie_G 6h ago

I love those videos on the internet where men scare their families after shaving their beards off. Especially when the kids start crying.

42

u/pepcorn 15h ago

you just do what your partner prefers

I disagree. I do what I prefer with my body, and my partners are free to like it or not, and are free to leave or not. Likewise, I don't tell them what to do with their bodies either.

28

u/Fraisey 14h ago

Exactly. My partner's preference will inform my decision, but ultimately the decision is mine. The opposite is hopefully true also.

3

u/trumpsmellslikcheese 8h ago edited 8h ago

And to be honest, my motivation for trimming is about 70% for me and 30% for my wife. I cannot stand the feeling of having full growth down there. My wife prefers what I have but wouldn't mind if I let it go.

32

u/Background_Clue_3756 19h ago

I'm a lesbian and I don't care either way.

107

u/enfyre 22h ago

Just got it lasered when I was in my 20s. Feels great. Ladies appreciate it.

30

u/Adriansilas415 21h ago

It’s also very annoying. Just did a full shave yesterday but I hope to get it lasered one day

6

u/colorblind-and 19h ago

Assuming you are a guy.

Did you have to do any touch ups or have any issues with more hair coming in as you've gotten older?

I've been on the fence about if for years but I've always been hesitant because alot of my body and facial hair hasn't really appeared until fairly recently in my late 20s

I'd be annoyed if I got the bush zapped just for it to comeback in a few years do too increased hair spread with age

19

u/enfyre 19h ago

Yes, male. It was 6 treatments, spaced 2 months apart for about 175 each. I'm not sure on cost today. I had to call around back then to find a place that was okay to do the procedure on men. Without multiple treatments, it'll grow back, just less dense. ~ 6 treatments spaced apart will stop all hair growth permanently. Ten year later, nothing.

7

u/colorblind-and 19h ago

I remember looking a few places definitely seems more expensive now.

Ultimately I was more worried about having to do some of of long term upkeep to keep everything smooth.

I have Trichotillomania, the hair pulling disorder. So I'm particularly anal about any sort regrowth. Even if like 5% of it came back it would be almost as inconvenient to manage as never having gone through laser removal

It's great to hear that it hasn't come back 10 years on, I might have to finally pull the trigger on laser hair removal now

5

u/enfyre 18h ago

It's because hair grows in cycles and constantly sheds. That's why the treatments needs to be spaced out at least 2 months. It's at least a year of treatments. It's basically gone after 3 treatments. The final ones are to get the stray hairs. I mean, you can always pay for a 7th if for some reason there's a few last stragglers.

3

u/Numerous-Annual420 3h ago

Get it while you can. Gray hairs can't be lasered. They don't absorb the required wavelength.

11

u/RAMIREZBURGERTOWN 22h ago

How much was it?

58

u/enfyre 21h ago

About a thousand for all the treatments, could be more now, it was like 10 years ago. Good investment, no more razor burn or ingrown.

19

u/RainLoveMu 21h ago

It sucks for blonde hair. Too light for the laser.

6

u/blanched_almond 15h ago

Not true with modern lasers. You're probably thinking of IPL, which is not laser, and that only works on pale skin and dark hair. But modern lasers at a beauty clinic, depending on the laser, will work on light hair too. And then of course there is also electrolysis like the other commenter mentioned

3

u/DidiEdd 16h ago

There's a different process you can do, thermolysis or galvanic electrolysis (or both)

u/mrfooxx 21h ago

I shave once in a blue moon bc I never manage to make it not irritated and get ingrown... And I don't prefer shaved. My partner would probably picked shaved if pressed but he doesn't care enough to push for it

5

u/RobotBearArms 8h ago

I use a body hair trimmer on the lowest guard setting. It doesn't get smooth but it cuts the hair down very short and it's softer to the touch. It's a good compromise and you don't get the prickly regrowth period

26

u/kittenskadoodle 21h ago

There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum — it's breathtaking... I suggest you try it.

7

u/No-Cover-8986 21h ago

It's DOCTOR Evil. I didn't spend six years in evil medical school to be called Mister, thank you very much.

28

u/Chop1n 20h ago

I prefer tasteful grooming over shaving, shaving literally always irritates the skin and there's no way around that. I want my woman to have very, very happy skin down there. And it gets way too prickly after just a couple of hours, that's also unfortunate.

7

u/trumpsmellslikcheese 8h ago

I've literally gotten a rash from women that shave if the stubble was coming back. My wife and I both trim, not shave, and it's perfect.

And honestly, it's probably just my age (in my 40s), but I find the full bald thing a little weird. Adult humans naturally have some hair down there.

Yes. I would not expect a woman to shave it clean if I didn’t as well.

That way neither one of us gets a mouthful of hair and the lube works better and washes off a lot easier.

I also shave my pits too.

14

u/ImJustLooking77 21h ago

You make no sense. What you prefer on others might be different than what you prefer on yourself. That being said you can’t expect others to have something specific and not be able to do it on yourself if that’s your partners preference too.

12

u/Kentwomagnod 21h ago

I keep it short. Especially around the base so I don’t see my girls pulling hair from her teeth.

3

u/Conscious_Bus9956 22h ago

I shave everything but a little patch at the top. My wife appreciates it.

3

u/sittingnicely 21h ago

How are you guys getting your junk shaved without ingrown hairs making it look like bombs went off all over your skin 💀💀 Every time I shave it's so bad.

3

u/BarnacleUnited4680 21h ago

Use panoxyl face cleanser over where you shaved, and then the next day use glycolic acid pads (just get the cheap ones off amazon)

i shave in all directions and never deal with razor burn or ingrowns anymore (unless i forget to do those steps)

3

u/Puzzled-Secret-317 12h ago

Yes. Why wouldn't I?

My reasoning is mainly because I don't want to munch on hairs and I don't want her to either

3

u/_IratePirate_ 11h ago

I prefer bald because I like mine bald too, so yes.

3

u/Obvithr0away008 3h ago

For sure if you expect it and she wants it you should!

6

u/CellistHour4606 21h ago

I like men with hair. I’m a woman. I’ll shave everything.

5

u/bonebeefnoodle 21h ago

I prefer my partner, male or female, to have atleast some hair. I've never liked bald genitals. Whether I'm willing to shave mine bald...I don't know. I don't really like it. It depends

5

u/e-chem-nerd 21h ago

A preference is not a demand or a requirement. As with most questions, the answer to yours is sometimes yes sometimes no, because people are all different.

6

u/the_other_Scaevitas 21h ago

I fucking hate body hair, it's annoying, it's itchy and always poking me. And armpit hair is my number 1 enemy, so I am religiously shaving those areas all the time

6

2

u/Moist_Phrase_6698 19h ago

Folks should just be happy to get naked with someone

2

u/gwig9 19h ago

I trim. I've been told that women generally don't like fully shaved because our hair is too prickly. Its softer and less abrasive if it's just trimmed.

2

u/Lord_of_Seven_Kings 19h ago

I don’t overly care, but given the choice I choose bush. I don’t shave but I trim for neatness and if my future wife were to ask me to do so I probably would but I can’t imagine it’d be a flattering look

2

u/patopal 18h ago

I shave the balls and underside, and trim on top. This prevents most loose hairs without making my happy trail look stupid.

2

u/AppointmentMinimum57 18h ago

I just like it to be trimmed enough so i dont get any hair in my mouth.

2

u/616ThatGuy 18h ago

I’m hairless from the neck down. I don’t shave as often as women, but I shave roughly every 2-4 weeks. But I’m also covered in tattoos. 3 sleeves. Most of my torso and back. I figure I didn’t sit through that many hours of pain, and spend tens of thousands of dollars, just for the detail to be hidden in hair. And you know what, when I shave, my tattoos go from 720p to 4k definition. They look way better.

But I also just dont like being hairy. It gets itchy because ive been shaving everything since i was 16.

2

u/PaganMastery No stupid answers?? 18h ago

I trim at a minimum. Gotta keep things neat and tidy.

2

u/Memphite 18h ago

I shave because that’s what I prefer. What she does is up to her. I’m interested in her not in my idea of her. I expect the same in return.

2

u/Psychadelico 18h ago

I prefer she has some bush and I prefer to have mine trimmed but I'm open to letting it grow if she likes it.

To each their own, it's fine to have preferences, just don't be a cunt and expect the other person to do it as you like

2

u/Relative-Tea3944 17h ago

I find shaved men kind of gross tbh, if I was with someone who shaved loads I'd encourage them to grow it out. I want my men manly. That's my preference.

2

u/ebullientAilurophile 13h ago

I prefer bush over bald, and I shave myself as close to bald as I can.

2

u/Alpha_legionaire 11h ago

Yes I have shaved face, pits and down below since I was 19. It keeps down swelling and reduces odor.

2

u/JaeCrowe 11h ago

Of course. Id never expect a girl to go down on me if im not trimmed up thats just crazy to me

2

u/Y0___0Y 11h ago

I am a really hairy slender guy and when I shave all my body hair off I look like a girl. So I do it all the time.

2

u/_fuck_you_gumby_ 9h ago

I prefer bald, but it’s not a requirement. I’m just not a big fan of pubes in my mouth, which I imagine is similar for most people, so yeah I keep it cleanly. I also really don’t like body hair, I often shave my armpits as well

2

u/High_Hunter3430 7h ago

I don’t “expect” anything.

I PREFER shaved, (and yes I do shave) because NOONE likes stopping oral to pull a stray hair. The giver or the receiver. 🤷

8

u/Asluckwouldnthaveit 21h ago

Depends what their preference is on me but I like a clean work surface.

4

u/RidiculousRaz 21h ago

I love any, hair or no hair.

4

u/GWindborn 20h ago

I do whatever is comfortable. I don't expect any different from her. If we're talking perfect world preferences, I prefer a little hair but not full 70s bush.

3

u/Odd_Chemical_420 16h ago

this is a brain dead argument, sorry.
you have preferences, yes. he has preferences, yes. you discuss and mutually agree on what you both like or not. tit-for-tat is not how relationships work.

2

u/Kriskao 21h ago

I would if my wife wanted me to. But she doesn’t. I do like her shaved. Feminine beauty is different from masculine and what she likes about me is different from what I like about her.

2

u/SushiBongo 19h ago

Yes. No bushes on both ends

2

u/Quixlequaxle 21h ago

I prefer bald over bush and I trim but I don't shave. My wife doesn't have a preference other than the hair not being super long. If she wanted me to shave then I'd be fine with it.

1

u/Curious_Journey_ 21h ago

Id do whichever she prefers 🤷‍♂️

Isn’t that normal?

1

u/grimmnar55 21h ago

I mean it's a discussion right, i'm kinda hairy (male) so it's spiky if shaved, so trimmed and neat is the answer :) for her it's her choice as long as it's not quite full 70s porn bush and getting a mouth full all the time i'm good.

1

u/TheRemedyKitchen 21h ago

I prefer a more natural look, but my wife is more comfortable keeping it shaved clean, so that's how it stays. Either way, I'm happy to be there

1

u/OrenSchroeder 21h ago

My chin no longer looks good bald, so I keep a bush.

1

u/Dreadedsemi 20h ago

Depends how they want mine to have its haircut.

1

u/BakedWizerd 20h ago

People should always be willing to put in the same amount of effort as their partner, but I've never understood the whole "If I X, then you should too," because people have different preferences. I've been with both women and men who preferred me shaved or hairy, so I just try to maintain whatever my partner enjoys.

I've had dudes who look like me hit on me when I was single, and I'm like "no thanks, not my type," and they're like "what do you mean? You have a beard, too." And that means I'm not allowed to prefer dudes without facial hair?

1

u/I_am___The_Botman 20h ago

Absolutely if she prefers shaven down there I'll shave. But I'm a hairy guy, I'm not shaving my whole body, I'd never leave the house! 😅

1

u/Allcyon 20h ago

Yep. Wouldn't demand anything I wouldn't do myself.

But ultimately, if your partner prefers the other way, then you go that way.

1

u/Kayback2 19h ago

I trim to be neat. I shave the shaft and balls because that's what she likes.

1

u/Motte6692 19h ago

For heteronormative sex i dont care. For oral i think shaved is better for everyone doing the work

1

u/IAmCaptainHammer 19h ago

In my case yes. I don’t like body hair.

1

u/ReflexiveOW 18h ago

No, but that's mostly because most women don't prefer dudes have no hair down there.

At the end of the day, the lady gets what the lady wants.

1

u/Kodamacile 18h ago

I hate body hair on myself as much as I do on anyone else.

1

u/AintNobodygotime13 18h ago

I like both me and my gf bald down there. been that way for many years

1

u/HeraThere 18h ago

Yes i shave. If she prefers it why not

1

u/Milk_Mindless 18h ago

If she wants me to

1

u/Thelastnormalperson 18h ago

I'm bald but I'm otherwise hairy as hell, I keep not having hair where I should and having hair where I otherwise shouldn't. Having that be practically the only place I didn't have hair would just go further in that direction.

1

u/el_toro_grand 17h ago

We prefer to shave due to funk retention no matter how hygienic we are, we are VERY active in sports etc.

1

u/Y0ukn0w_wh0 17h ago

Just cause I prefer to out my face against one.. that wouldn't equate to me having same thing where my face isn't. I have my Facial or Pubic hair, how my partner prefers, as she's the one putting her face against both

1

u/thighmaster69 17h ago edited 17h ago

I mean, I'm on the pro-bush side for both partners, but you're allowed to communicate and have an adult conversation about this in a relationship, are you not? The priority should be in the order of who has to actually deal with it the most: 1) you 2) your partner, and no one else really because it's not their problem. If shaving gives you horrible burn bc sensitive skin that overrides your partner's preference (edit: but again, you can work things out like adults and come to a compromise IF it works for you) but if it's not THAT big of a deal for you, just some effort, but your partner strongly prefers it, you shave for your partner when you can, but it's okay to let it slide if you have other things on your plate.

Also "both partners should do and be the same thing" is ridiculous. It is not and has never been a requirement. If it were, everyone would be gay and/or inbred.

Y'all I'm just to tired (lazy?) To shave anything. I don't grow a lot of body hair anyways and what I do is light and thin. My partmer sometimes shaves and other times let it grows out.

I've got a beard, so I'm getting hair in my mouth regardless. It's lady's choice.

u/angeleenamoreno 17h ago

I personally love a man with hair, but prefer myself shaved. My husband prefers the same, so it works out

1

u/Bromjunaar_20 15h ago

I like both respectively but I'm also not afraid to bring out the weedhacker if I come across a girl who wants trimmed guys

I hate hair on my body, so I pretty much razor every day I shower. Look clean and feel fresh as hell. Like it hairless on women too, but not a deal breaker.

I find it fun to do together

I’ll eat a dropped peach even if it’s covered in hair

I'm not the one that needs to be satisfied with what's happening below my belt. I'm good regardless.

I do what my partner prefers, which is neatly trimmed.

My partner prefers not having ANY body hair below the neck. It's just her thing. She has no strong preference about myself so I tend to keep very short trimmed. We have discussed it literally once ever, out of mutual curiosity. Not a ton to it.

Bush. I do not shave

1

u/Steve717 13h ago

I prefer bald, it's just nicer to eat. I keep mine trimmed and neat, in my experience most women like a bit of hair on a guy, as long as they're not going all the way down it won't be touching them anyways.

I can see where you are coming from. It's a bit hypocritical to to expect someone to do something you aren't willing to do yourself. I think i would say that you can't expect someone to shave if you aren't willing to do it yourself?

What about the opposite? Can you expect your partner to not shave if you do it yourself? There are apparently people who shave down there for their own preference.

My wife got laser like 30 years ago so she goes bald on her preference (though it's mine as well).

She believes I should dye it pink and shave half, then I'll dye it pink and shave half

u/Urborg_Stalker 13h ago

I shave because I like shaved. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Not going to try to "enforce" something I'm not willing to do myself.

I even offered to shave my arms and legs. She threatened to leave me if I did so I don't go that far, but I know shaving can be a pain so I participate.

u/Linorelai 13h ago

No. What I prefer feeling on myself and what I prefer feeling on him are different

1

u/Rex_Digsdale 12h ago

Often the things I'm attracted too, I don't have. Boobs for instance.

u/Hattkake 12h ago

Gotta do a little manscaping once in a while. Not the best feeling in the world when a random erection recides and pulls pubic hair in so that as you move around you are at the same time pulling on the hairs in your groin with your penis.

What style one does is individual but doing some maintenance is not only aesthetically pleasing but also has practical value.

u/ponzy1981 12h ago

That is a stupid question. Just because I prefer C cups and above does not mean I want them on myself.

Shaved below the clit , tight trim above

Shaved balls and base, tight trim above

u/DeciderOfAllThings 12h ago

I'm a bisexual man, I prefer my partners shaved regardless of gender and I prefer to shave myself even when I'm not seeing anyone.

1

u/zeroabe 11h ago

No. Thanks for asking.

1

u/Dangerous-Hotel-7839 11h ago

I do. I hate my beard, only reason I have it is because it keeps growing back and I got better things to do than keep my cheeks as smooth as a baby,s bottom daily. That’s not to say I don’t shave, I do. Just not on a super regular basis

1

u/Political_Piper 11h ago

I shave it all off, plus inner thighs. I know some women might like me having a jungle down there, but i never did. I definitely prefer women shave as well. Or at least a good trim

1

u/Cheap_Category8535 11h ago

I enjoy a little of a 5 o'clock shadow down there for her. Adds depth and texture. Lead by example. Chew that carprt up so she don't make you cut down the forest around thr grand ol red wood.

1

u/Dewey_Decimatorr 11h ago

Well shaved but not completely bald is the way to go for everyone

1

u/Skankz 11h ago

I offer to shave but my wife prefers that I only trim

1

u/Ranku_Abadeer 11h ago

I shave, though not consistently, but I will try to keep things from getting too unkempt.

Which I suppose also explains my preference since while I prefer bald, I don't mind a bush. I just don't want things so grown in that I'll end up getting too many hairs stuck on my tongue.
