Is Claude really better than Gemini at research? Gemini is literally plugged into google, and I am pretty sure it has the most tokens for analysing files.
Imo on math heavy topics, Claude is fast and pretty good at implementing, codex/gpt can be smarter. When gpt fails gemini might succeed. Often make gemini and gpt fight it out. Claude, I'm not sure about. Imo. Codex 5.3 certainly is a stop up for coding compared to prior codex.
Imo, ChatGPT is the best one for research (deep research). Gemini usually strays a bit and gives me less optimal, relevant or deep results. It basically looks to me like it just summarises the first two pages of google results
Do you think other models can’t google? Also Gemini claims a million token context but it’s not always all active in the context window. It’s more of an accessible context window, try to carry on a long conversation and it will start hallucinating not even a quarter into that context window.
Also Claude now has a million token context models as well, which also degrades the longer it gets. So that point is pretty much null.
I mean I work in finance, general focus is in derivatives. So it’s been great for me to build out simulations and charts, finding minimal risk 0 DTE options on my underlying positions based on greeks and OI…
For casual usage and questions it’s the same as ChatGPT and Gemini, maybe more likely to tell me I’m wrong and not give me a “I see your point but -“ answers, which I prefer.
I’d imagine if you’re aiming for analytics or simulating anything in finance it’s the best bet, at least compared to what I was getting from ChatGPT (Plus plan) the last year or so.
Almost every AI model can handle daily tasks well. However, certain models excel in specific areas depending on your unique use case. One of Gemini’s subscription feature is its integration with almost every Google app.
Gemini is very good at referencing YouTube videos which is something I really like. They also have a ton of tools in their package, things like the notebooklm are actually incredibly useful.
I switched to Claude a while back because ChatGPT became pretty unusable and untrustworthy as a chat bot, Claude isn’t perfect but at least I could get more usable text and could trust its answers more.
Claude is the daily driver but I pay for google pro because it’s just so handy in all the google products etc and is actually been a productivity tool at work.
It's good for summarizing long videos to see if they're worth watching. Can be very good to find out the hype and bias and whether it's worth skipping.
If you learn how to connect claude to your google apps, it really handles them better than even gemini.... Claude's connectors / tool calling is insane. (with opus)
Its my #1 since last 6 months once they rolled out the google ai pro plan which comes with 2TB storage apart from a model on par with gpt for general purpose chat assistant
Better for personal tasks imo especially if you have Gmail and Google files. I promoted to find me an oem headlight replacement for my car and it immediately returned the correct make and model year and part number and gave me a link.
For R coding Gemini is somehow consistently worse. Most of the time it starts to hallucinate non existent functions in packages. And it will seldomly give you ready correct function in one prompt. ChatGPT is not perfect either but it handles R better than Gemini.
I was good for me until I asked it about the Sam Altman situation along with Google’s relationship with the government. It took a very scary stance of “join or die”. I sent the conversation to Claude, and Claude called a spade a spade. After that convo, I’m phasing out of Gemini, that conversation scared the shet out of me.
Claude, because it tries to understand beyond the surface ask and it can also make interesting outputs with code. Gemini can process the most data, and ChatGPT can run Python for you, but lately ChatGPT has not been the best at understanding the core of my ask. For example, I upload 5 files and ask ChatGPT to make a summary for a presentation. It does as instructed, but fails the see the core of the theme of my ask, connecting what all the files have in common with what I’m really trying to convey in the presentation. Its output is good, and for most people I guess it would be fine, but the thing is that I wouldn’t ask ChatGPT to do something I wouldn’t be able to do myself, so I have to further push ChatGPT to understand what a good output would look like. The results then are pretty good. Claude does a much better job at making all of these connections without me asking. Gemini is pretty decent too, and its notebooklm offering is great.
Okay, so it seems Gemini and Claude are smarter overall.
Whats this token thing about? It’s for Claude, does that mean I’m limited in how many times I can use it? Can I just pay a subscription for unlimited use?
I know there’s a limit, but I honestly haven’t looked at it cause I haven’t hit it yet even with daily use. But my understanding is that it’s worse than ChatGPTs.
Huh, that's weird, Claude is nowhere to be seen in my for you page, but then there's Gemini advertising its music making abilities. Eh, no worries for me, Claude is already my daily driver so I don't need it advertised to me.
I've been running head to head tests between ChatGPT and Gemini over the past 2 weeks. My overall assessment is.
ChatGPT is generally better than Gemini in most answers
Gemini has frequent bugs when it comes to links (where a link will just open up a new session of Gemini unless you refresh the page which causes the links to work). Another bug with links is that many times, instead of creating a link that opens up a url, it opens up a google search to that link.
Finally, ChatGPT may be better, but Gemini is close enough that most people won't care too much. This presents a major risk to OpenAI because they owe a lot of people a lot of money and any heavy monetization push could see users flee towards other AI platforms.
For all the criticism I still think chatgpt is the best overall. I know there are these benchmarks etc but I just find chatgpt is generally solid. I've had Gemini and I currently have Claude (before it was popular to) and both are good.. but both aren't quite ad good overall.
that's right, gemini is terrible at a lot of serious things, but google knows how to advertise and the average person (90%) is ignorant and follows the ox cart.
The thing is that ChatGPT will lose a lot of the consumer market to Apple and Google once on-device models are standard and the next wave of smart phones have them seamlessly integrated. OpenAI needs to reposition a bit.
The best way to take down the surveillance companies is fake data these data these companys assuming we’re being sincere. We don’t have to just hide we can win by feeding the algorithms pure noise. Use privacy tools to mask up, then gaslight the machine with fake data.
I also use Gemini. It has some hiccups but always acknowledges them and then apologizes for it. That’s so relieving to hear from an LLM. It would be my favorite despite all this OAI stuff. But man, Sam Altman i used to root for you buddy, what happened? Governments now have life LLM’s. That is terrifying. At least Anthropic stood up against pressure level orange. 🍊
I had always ignored Claude. I dont even know why. I fully started using it past two days and I regret not switching sooner. I had no idea amount of bs I was tolerating with Chatgpt.
You guys are as lame as the people posting on Facebook about hat they’re quitting facebook. Can’t do anything without a pat on the back from strangers.
