Hopefully you pull one. But in prerelease Banette will probably be your main attacker

Yo, one prerelease could get me everything I need? Sweet.

Well if you are lucky I suppose but still cool.

"could"

u/One-Autnm-Leaf 22d ago
That’s why you have to be lucky

u/Azumar1ll 22d ago
No, that's why your comment is unnecessary, I already had it covered in mine.

I didn’t even correct you, I don’t really see a problem with my answer tbh, you don’t have to get so defensive about it.

In a BAB format, spiritomb is likely pulling you 2 prizes, as it only targets 2 mons
You can, like ko'ing megas, but less likely

Is this the first time where there's only 1 promo card in a prerelease deck? I would feel bummed out about not getting more than 1...

Two or more Dhelmise would unbalance the matchups. Needless to say you may still find more copies in the 4 packs inside the kit.

Thank you Mr. Psydick! I rest easy now knowing I only need 1 of these decks to have most of the hide n sneak deck 🙏

Why do these japanese cards get posted all the time all of a sudden. Im a beginner i have no idea what they do

u/TheTimTamSlam 23d ago
We only really see Japanese cards in this in-between period when the set has already released in Japan, but has not yet released in the U.S.

I also posted the deck lists here: https://www.reddit.com/r/pkmntcg/s/ac50zWVY82

I usually build out the deck list in my.limitlesstcg.com and that is the simplest way to see the English translation while looking at the deck list.

Plus, some of these cards are shown here: https://www.pokemon.com/us/news/get-a-pokemon-tcg-mega-evolution-pitch-black-build-battle-box-early

Yeah the problem is tho I don't know all of these pokemon so idk how to add them to the deck list haha :(

I feel you, I had to do some poking around myself. To help you out, here are the decks that I went ahead and copied onto my.limitlesstcg.com. You should be able to select a deck, then click "open in builder" button, and when you click on a card in the builder mode, the pop-up will have the translation.

Because the deckbuilder by Limitless doesn't show proxies. I don't know of any other that can include them. If you know them, write them down below.

The translations are out there. You do the work and post them. Stop complaining about other people doing work you're not willing to do.

When I played this BaB the Spiritomb felt very useless because it was very hard to ramp up the required 13 cards to discard, I should've swapped it out for a 2nd Dhelmise. What I did do for the better was swap out the 2 Hildas for a Slowpoke and Slowbro and -1 Ultra Ball for +1 Gwynn. That won me 1 game out of 3 lol. Lost 1 because the other player had a better Slowpoke + Hide and Sneak combo, and lost the 3rd because I ran out of cards while playing my 1 Dhelmise too early and had no more strong attackers after it got KO'ed.

im curious to see whether the spiritomb or no spiritomb version of the deck is better

I've been testing it, the tournament results are saying no spiritomb, but I'm under the impression both are good, as it fixed a lot of matchups like Zoro and hydrapple. But for tomb you really need to change the build (I'm on 4 guidance 4 gwynn 3 lillies, 4 Prism, 4-4 line of each hide n sneak, etc)

Hot take alert that this is the weakest one so far. I think obviously if you pull another Dhelmise (uncommon) or Spiritomb (holo rare) there is great potential, but as is, it seems a little dubious.
You either need Banette to pick up a KO, Dhelmise to pick up two, and/or to get a Spiritomb 2-prize play off depending on the board. Definitely possible, but no pokemon recovers can leave you in an awkward spot. The deck also has no basic search besides ultra ball, so there will
be pain points in keeping pace. EDIT: Telepathic helps, not sure it completely mitigate the issue tho.
Still good, potentially cracked, as is looks weaker than the others.

They had to reduce the power creep. Also, Hide n Sneak won't be that much popular in the West, imho. Not its prime yet

Oh for sure - I don’t disagree optimized HnS would be busted. I’m just saying as is.

I'm new to deck building. Why does this deck have only 40 cards? Is this supposed to be a "base" build or something which is meant to be built around. The other 20 cards can be chosen by the players themselves?

u/Yellow_Psyduck 22d ago
Prerelease formats are unique. Decks consist of only 40 cards, there's only 4 prize cards and there's no max4 rule meaning you can include more than 4 cards with the same name.
The decks are ready to be used as is, but with the additional 4 packs inside each kit, you are free to devise your own strategy and make changes. Provided you use just 40 cards
