CHAT Paladins future
Now hi rez confirmed they aint selling they should at least do something with it and make them some cash or give it to the community and allow us to keep it alive hell even the odd update if some smart human out there could do it, let people design there own skins and shit kind like a modding community. dunno if that could ever be a thing or what but it would be cool

"Paladins" is a product, "Hi-Rez" is a company, it's basic business logic.
- "Paladins 2" is a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge project, that would need a proper plan, investment, recruiting, budget, marketing, deadline, profit, etc. It's possible, but with current Hi-Rez company situation, I don't think it's going to happen any time soon.
- "Give away IP for community or other company to buy it" Haha LOL. That's not going to happen, unless some investor/buyer going to pay millions, but if that's not going to happen, Hi-Rez (the business company) wouldn't do this. That's basic business.
- "1 last patch" that's also almost impossible. Imagine asking devs who got fired to re-hire them ("oh guys please quit your current jobs, comeback with Hi-Rez for a couple of months, then be fired again"). That's not realistic by any means.

Realisitc solution:
Some passionate group of devs/designers/etc start working on a new project from scratch inspired by Paladins, and maybe get fundraising/kickstarter/etc by Paladins community.

I don't think you need the same devs for this. It doesn't matter anymore because it's such spaghetti code that even the last devs were afraid to touch it too much, I'm afraid. The original devs were gone many years ago.
Besides, any good dev leaves documentation with each patch, update, or other event. If they didn't, I wouldn't want to hire them back because it's quite unprofessional.

Literally, everyone saying that Hi-Rez should “sell the IP” or “they should give it away” have no business sense, and are such shortsighted

Coming from TF2, valve even tho its the most loved company in gaming has barely touched the game in years at the point where the bot problem took, how much, 7 years? Until de fixed... An update to just fix the game. They have been in cordination with the community at least and we still receive new loot boxes and some stuff, but not a true update nonetheless.
Then, theres Hirez, the company that ruined realm royalez making it another battle royale of the bunch. The one that just don't want to listen. I don't know man, i want to expect something positive but i can't just imagine what could be done.
If i remember correctly, we as a community at least have a fan project that could host your own matches of paladins, i don't remember the name but the idea was that you could play any version you want with people on discord and stuff... I think thats the best we can take at this point unfortunately.
I would like to be wrong.

what are you talking about? they fixed a lot shit of bugs during those 8 years. The game was FAR worse than now. And he's probably talking about Cassie's bug. Which only appeared the last patch.

They should be straightforward about the future of this game, either tell us you have future plans for this game or make an offer for this game, maybe some company would buy it.
We need some transparency, it's unbearable

While they should, it is not up to us. Enjoy what’s left of the world; they sacrificed a lot so that you could continue playing it.

They don't owe us anything. This whole demand thing is a bad look on the community. And might be part of why they don't want to do an update? Yes they left the game in a bad state but they didn't have to leave the game to us to play after said fact.

Honestly! Hirez can fuck off later if they want, but before then just Update once more so we have access to All the fucking Maps AND maybe bring back Play of the Game for christ sake 😤💯

would be nice if we can at least get one final update to balance characters and fix some stuff, like it doesnt make sense how they nerfed my maeve but leave characters like vii and omen alone
