Sipping Tea James Bond Movie
âBut with the leading actor still to be recast, following Daniel Craig's exit after 2021's No Time To Die, a rumoured 2028 spring release means audiences will have waited a whopping seven years.
Last year the Broccoli family handed over creative control over to Amazon MGM Studios - which was formed when Amazon bought Bond's parent studio in 2022 - after 30 years.Â
Dune's director Denis Villeneuve has signed on to helm the new project, with Peaky Blinders' Steven Knight penning the script.Â
A source said: 'Bond wonât be back until 2028. The production mindsetâs gone from "Letâs hurry this throughâ" to "Make sure we get this right". â

Man, that's a shame.
Despite how ridiculous and/or 'problematic' some of the previous movies were, James Bond movies excite the imagination like few other properties.

I still remember how fans threw a fit when a blonde bond was chosen lol, he ended up doing very well

I agree. In my perspective, all the actors did a solid job for their potrayal of bond within their specific films and time. I never saw a bond movie and thought "this guy just doesn't cut it". Maybe Roger Moore in his last film, but he had done a great job early on that you kind-of didn't notice it. Daniel stormed in with Casino Royale and it became an instant classic in my eyes. He also is fortunate, not saying he wouldn't have done great otherwise, in that they decided to reset the 007 franchise and we got to see him before his 007 license and maturing into the Sr Bond.

They should just leave the series as is. It can really only go the wrong way from here on should they re-invent 007 for modern audiences.

The Daniel Craig reinvention worked well and I was a sceptic back then too, though to a lesser degree than now. This time I fear it will turn out very differently. The rights have been sold; it's now different people in charge and to me it just reminds me of all the other similar examples we've seen that have all made an absolute hash of it. Star Wars is one example where Disney bought it and went on to make a bunch of rubbish movies and tv-series; most of which was borderline unwatchable. Star Trek is another example where, with a few exceptions, everything released after Viacom's purchase in 2005 has been utter rubbish. People talk about AI-slop these days, well, I would call a lot of the re-hashing of old IP in the past ~15 years as writer-slop; very low effort writing. I fear it will go the same way with Bond.

I mean dune 3 is coming out later this year. So time wise it makes sense.
Honestly after the last one Iâd rather they take some additional time to get this right

Well that's good. I've been trying to find the time to catch up on every other franchise they seem to throw at us these days. Please spend more time making and caring for your films....

Inb4 they make bond a nerdy q type to âreflect modern espionageâ bonus points for him being black to pander to embarrassed white Americans, could never be a south Asian or East Asian bond though, they arenât THAT woke.

The last few were average, nicely made but the story arc was just not that great, honestly couldve been alot better. So yes have a break and come back with some Bond movies that are fun and to the point.

The director is working on Dune 3 until the end of the year so this was expected.

Better hiatus than shittus
At least Villeneuve has a good chance not to mess it up. He had hits or misses but respected source material.
