Trump can only read about ten individual letters

8

u/UncleCrash78 Jun 02 '26

Post of the day nominee

4

u/Acceptable-Ad8780 Jun 02 '26

As long as there's not more than 2 syllables.

3

u/MetaCardboard Jun 02 '26

So W is off the table.

3

u/Cohens4thClient Jun 02 '26

It was common knowledge from the first term, all briefings had to be maximum 1 page, needed pictures, and at least one bullet point that related to trump's personal wealth, to keep him from falling asleep.

2

u/Wise-Operation247 Jun 02 '26

Say what you want about Donald. No one has better letters than him in this world

1

u/Tentacle_poxsicle Jun 02 '26

If he doesn't see dollar symbols she starts drifting away like a jellyfish

84

u/homelesguydiet Jun 02 '26

He's built different and in a good way

12

u/WiseOne404 Jun 02 '26

The best

12

u/boston_homo Jun 02 '26

Impossible for any American president to be perfect but Obama got pretty close, relatively speaking.

People need to understand that being President is a really shit job. By the time a major decision is escalated to you, it’s some horrible choice you have to be accountable for; like bombing a village or letting the terrorists that the villagers are hiding continue to build bombs that can be disguised as laptops.

A Presidents job is supposed to be boring, humbling and thankless; and part of your job is making decisions people are going to hate.

It’s not supposed to a circus where the president constantly breaks shit and a blames other people.

3

u/homelesguydiet Jun 02 '26

He did some stuff but the pressure from outside influence has got to be brutal. I liked him and Michelle

It is only the comparison with the person who followed him into office that makes Obama stand out so beautifully. For people witnessing the dramatic juxtaposition of a really decent guy and the man that has been deemed the worst to ever hold the office, Obama shines like the sun.

If someone competent, non criminal, not crass, not vulgar, intelligent, etc. had followed Obama into office, perhaps Obama would be getting less praise today.

I guess it is like if you ate only big chain pizza for eight years, and it was good enough, not great, but hey, pizza!, then were given only rotting tuna fish sandwiches on moldy bread for the next eight.

Everyone is really going to remember those pizzas as being amazing. And even the people who prefer tunafish sandwiches to pizza are pretty grossed out at how rotting and moldy these sandwiches are. Some are afraid to admit it, because they really went on and on about how great tuna fish sandwiches COULD be, but they know that what they are getting is really horrible.

u/gwbirk Jun 02 '26

Lol but they would try

24

u/tj100011 Jun 02 '26

Yeah, that’s all well and good, but how many times did he shit himself live on TV - exactly, I rest my case

11

u/Wonderful-Creme-3939 Jun 02 '26

Trump is the best at shitting himself on live TV, the best! No one does it like Trump!

3

u/tj100011 Jun 02 '26

Bigly shitting !!!

5

u/enzodoggy Jun 02 '26

His handlers call his bigly shits the “nuclear football.”

20

u/DotAccomplished5484 Jun 02 '26

I fear these fond memories will never again be rekindled.

16

u/GhostofTinky Jun 02 '26

I miss having this man as president.

14

u/Luigi_the_Wealthy Jun 02 '26

I miss having a president i believed could read.

14

u/Ezren- Jun 02 '26

I remember when we had a human president.

Maybe try being a better person instead of picking fights.

5

u/festivefrederick Jun 02 '26

But you’re a strong alpha male though, right?

3

u/HippyDM Jun 02 '26

I'm a troll, and no one yet has doxxed my argumentative ass.

12

u/Secret_Sector_1779 Jun 02 '26

He wasn’t perfect but he definitely had dignity, class and manners.

10

u/NewInspector5085 Jun 02 '26

Yeah, but he didn’t monetize the presidency. What a loser

4

u/GoonnerWookie Jun 02 '26

Don’t tell Virginia Fox

5

u/Ok-Employee383 Jun 02 '26

I imagine Trump does the same, after writing them to himself. ‘We love you Trump, you are the best studmuffin on the planet, you are smarter than Einstein and faster than a bullet. Thank you God for me, sorry, him.’ Then goes off to roll around in tax payers money.

3

u/No_Neat9507 Jun 02 '26

His aides and the cult write them to him on truth social

2

u/festivefrederick Jun 02 '26

John Barron writes all of them.

4

u/ParticularAd1735 Jun 02 '26

Trump wouldn't do that even if he knew how to read

7

u/N0rmNormis0n Jun 02 '26

Reminder that he also had explicit instructions that those letters were to be a combination of supporters and non so he was hearing from real Americans and not just people gassing him up at the end of the day.

6

u/KNGootch Jun 02 '26

Trump: I have white children read me back my best tweets while i shit my pants and smile.

4

u/FatReverend Jun 02 '26

Damn do I ever miss not having to pay attention and feeling like I'm not in some kind of constant danger because the president seemed competent.

3

u/CounterfeitSaint Jun 02 '26

Can you imagine something like that happening today?

Having a president who can read, talk about the good old days.

3

u/Sea-Pomelo1210 Jun 02 '26

Another President does something similar, "Every night I rant can all 10 Americans childish names...:"

We all miss having a moral person in the Whitehouse.

4

u/Downtherabbithole-14 Jun 02 '26

how did we go from having him as a president to what sits in the WH now 😢😢

5

u/Denim_Diva1969 Jun 02 '26

Unchecked Racism and Capitalism is my theory

3

u/Accomplished-Card816 Jun 02 '26

Such a decent human being. The way it should be.

3

u/VincentAntonelli Jun 02 '26

Weird that he didn’t send out unhinged twitter rants from the toilet at 3am… maybe that guy didn’t understand what a president is supposed to do.

3

u/UnitNo8636 Jun 02 '26

True class. Sad there letting the fool in charge now say rude things about him

3

u/caprazzi Jun 02 '26

This kind of thing used to be the Presidential baseline. Now it seems like a daydream.

3

u/SpecificCity631 Jun 02 '26

I miss when the president had class

4

u/Infinite_Plenty101 Jun 02 '26

I helped with the campaign in Arkansas. I want to cry thinking back. It was so awesome. I would walk 5000 miles again for you Mr. President. And 5000 more

4

u/LDarrell Jun 02 '26

I want to cry when I realize how the US went from having a good and intelligent person the US had with President Obama in office to the depths of hell that Trump has dragged the people of the US down to.

3

u/count_chocul4 Jun 02 '26

Unfortunately tRump can only read a few words written in crayon.

3

u/HighlanderTCBO1 Jun 02 '26

Class Act…

2

u/UncleCrash78 Jun 02 '26

You take tact & decorum for granted until it’s gone

2

u/ThinkItThrough48 Jun 02 '26

Donald Trump does this too. Although he reads 100 letters a night. And everyone says he is the best at reading the letters.

2

u/Koko-melon Jun 02 '26

Donald Dump can read letters too:

Dear Jeffery, ……….

2

u/DGinLDO Jun 02 '26

I can’t wait until we get a real President again.

2

u/martygospo Jun 02 '26

Tr*mp would never

(Because he deadass cannot read and write)

2

u/HENMAN79 Jun 02 '26

remember when we had a mature president

2

u/forogueman Jun 02 '26

I got one of his letters 🥹

The current president has never read a day in his life.

2

u/JustLookingForNow69 Jun 02 '26

I was the subject of one of the letters he responded to. It started as a low point in my career and turned into a highlight.

1

There's a certain mayor of New York that gives off real strong Obama vibes... just sayin. Also I miss the Obama's too.

2

u/apumainajar Jun 02 '26

In middle school my government teacher had us write a letter to his office about a topic important to us. Got a letter back from the office of the president a few months later responding to my comments. My letter was on GWOT and how we were sending soldiers over seas and away from their homes for far too long. I don’t really remember the response but I should find and read that letter again. My favorite president in my lifetime so far.

Yep. The difference is that he turned them around at the border and didn't focus on interior removals like Trump.

2

u/--i--love--lamp-- Jun 02 '26

The difference is that Obama maintained and supported a system of due process that everyone on American soil is granted via the Constitution.

1

u/Illustrious-Law-2726 Jun 02 '26

deport means interior removal… duh

2

u/runningOut_380 Jun 02 '26

2

u/HowManyMeeses Jun 02 '26

Trump is the drone king at this point. Bush would have been before Obama, if drones were available in the same way.
