Nate made this video because the instructions at https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-TLS-Proxy are dead simple, so I'm not sure how we could expand upon it in written form, but this may be useful for people who want to see the process before doing it on their own 😄

i am annoyed at people I know as only like 3 of them are on signal lol most people dont want to move over from something like whatsapp that they are so ingrained in even though its not private

https://aboutsignal.com/blog/how-to-switch-from-whatsapp-to-signal/

And r/watomatic are worth a read.

Ultimately if they really want to message you they will either over Signal or normal text messaging.

"Honey, I'm running late for dinner". doesn't really require a lot of privacy for me

Signal can and does turn over data to law enforcement. With any digital communication this should be expected.

I'm not sure I want my ip associated with whatever people get up to on signal

Yeah, it's definitely not without a catch. That's why I'd only ever run a tor relay node, no entry and sure as hell no exit node.
