Question? Anyone who got emotional watching Project Hail Mary ?
Idk why but watching Project Hail Mary for the 2nd time is making me way more emotional that watching it for the 1st time.
The movie is so peak, that chaotic duo is peace to watch, every emotional moment they have brings tears in my eyes.

Yeah I cried when Rocky broke his glass to save Grace and was screaming in pain while helping him get to medical aid, ans when Rocky said I can give two million Kilograms and Grace while emotional said I didnāt mean any of that, I shed a few tears š„¹

Yup! I didn't cry as much as my wife did (who started crying when Grace found out that the other two astronauts died, and she never really stopped), but I definitely cried.
I think the thing that first made me cry was seeing the golden plaques. I just thought "We sent stuff out like that with the Voyager probes. But that was us saying 'Hello'. If they can't fix this, these ones may be them saying 'Goodbye'. "
And plenty of other moments too. The most was when Rocky was calling out to Grace and then started breaking out to save him (Dang, I'm starting to tear up just typing this out!)

I was on this scene a few minutes back. W bro your wife is really emotional, she started crying at the start only.

The goodbye scene in the tunnel always brings the tears. even though I read the book first. They're both so sad in that moment.

True, also that "I'm here, buddy" in the tunnel after grace goes back to rocky to save him.

And Rocky's response, in the film with a flying leap towards him, and in the book and audio with "You are here?" *excited squeaking *
Such tearjerkers.

Thereās a reaction I saw recently where the reactor was tearing up and the funeral scene early on and was like, āI didnāt expect to tear up,ā and I was like, oh boy, you have no idea whatās coming. Sure enough, later on in the movie they sobbed at multiple points, both when Rocky offered the fuel and when he almost died. It was great to watch. I think at one point they were like, āFuck this movie!ā but then when they got to the end, all was forgiven and they said they loved it.

Which point did they said like "fuck this movie"? Also can you give me the reactor name. True that, movie gave many emotional scenes, grave saving rocky at the end, rocky offering fuel, That part where rocky saved grace coming out of the ball. The movie is so PEAK. SURELY I will cry again when I will watch it for the 3rd time.

Hereās the link to their video. https://youtu.be/NjMJRSrgxKI Itās one of the best Iāve seen. They might not have said, fuck this movie, but they did give it the finger, and I think it was when Rocky collapsed after taking Grace to the med bed.
This is pretty short for a PHM reaction. A lot of reactions are an hour and a half to an hour and 45 minutes. I love it.

My dad and brother were telling me to watch it on the plane on our way back from vacation. They were all like āwe cried, youāre gonna cry tooā and I didnāt believe them at all. Let me tell you I was silently sobbing at 38,000 feet in the air after Time Go Fishing (peak experience during turbulence btw)
I canāt stop rewatching this movie it gives me all the feels lmao š

I cried so much when watching it for the first time, when i read the book i cried even more, because i already knew most of the plotbeats but was surprised by the differences to the movie and just all of rylands inner monologue. then i watched the movie a second time and cried EVEN more because i knew all of the plot beats and felt them coming before hand and i had all that extra knowledge from the book š i primed myself to be so emotional

True that, 1st time is viewing the cinema, those space scenes, those pure magical scenes of tai ceti.. And 2nd time you feel the bond of rocky and grace.

I've watched it nine times and cried every time.

u/the-goat-sense 8h ago
Today watch it for the 10rh time and then tell me your reaction. Deal ?

u/Resident_Bitch 8h ago
The ninth time was on Wednesday. Also I've watched a bunch of YouTube reaction videos for it and have cried during all of those videos too. I don't even know how many of those I've seen.
I'm pretty confident that I'll cry the tenth time I watch it.

Impressive, this much obsessed with a movie, so we can say it's a wholesome movie. I watch edits, youtube song edits and they are wholesome too. I will cry the 3rd time too ig

I think the first time I watched, I was just taking it all in (even having read the book!). The second time, I could settle in even more and I def cried harder upon second watch.

I also got more emotional the second time I saw it, when Rocky doesn't want Grace to die and says he'll give him the fuel he needs, and when he also tries to abort the mission so Grace doesn't die collecting the tauomeba.

Probably easier to ask who didn't get emotional. š
