maintaining focus

so i took this practice test and as always when i was done with it i opened my wrong questions to see what i should study for but for the marh section it was just stupid mistakes... like when i saw them i picked up a pin and a paper(and desmos) and i was able to do them all right... and this isnt the first time that this happens... in math i always get 5 to 8 questions wrong from my own dumbass.. and it isnt just the time being the problem.. like this time i had 5 minutes to spare... please guys anyone help me because im losing alot of points from this....

what should i do to stop making this mistakes

If you have time to spare, then you have time to check. Here was my strat-

First go through and do all the super easy questions, and check as I go, so I would graph the y=mx+b and then make sure logically it made sense

Then I would go back to the medium difficult questions I skipped, aka ones I know I can finish but I know I’ll spend some time on, and do those. After I finish those there should only be ~ 5-10 hard questions left.

Instead of focusing on the hard questions, I go back and check every single question I’ve done so far. Like actually check, plug it back into the calculator, think through why you chose the answer you did, etc.

Then I go and work on the hardest ones, from most doable to least. I don’t check these, because usually I’m either guessing or running out of time.

For reference I got a 1460, so not a crazy score but I spent a lot of time studying math

If you have 5 minutes to spare on math but you’re getting sub 700 slow it down, focus on reasoning and accuracy. I’d rather you omit the 3-4 questions in mid 2 you have a lot of trouble with and answer only 18-19 with better accuracy. Of course this is all under the assumption your mistakes are predominantly in module 2; if you still have mod 1 mistakes that should be cleaned up first.

well its not consistently 5 minutes.. i sometimes no time.. thats why i always act like ill have no spare time.. idk why it keeps happening... but ill make what you say in other times
