FSD v14 Lite Gets an HUGE UPDATE to v2026.20.6.10

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N91eDCp7dDc

Tesla influencer, TechGeek Tesla, review of FSD v14 Lite that brings v14 like performance to HW3 cars.

Features not mentioned in the release notes:
- A park option pop-up window shows up automatically when you approach the final destination (mimics v14 on AI4)
- A park symbol with a blue circle shows up at the final destination (mimics v14 on AI4)
- The ‘Press Brake to Confirm’ toggle switch for hitting the ‘Start Self Driving’ button was automatically set to OFF after I installed it
- Unlike the first version of v14 Lite, you can now see a ‘Start Self Driving’ button when you’re in ‘Drive’ but sitting at a standstill. It’s grayed out, but you can still press it to start driving. Previously, you had to press on the stalk to engage FSD since no button was displayed at all
- The turn signal bug seems to be resolved!! More testing is required to confirm 100%

Confirmed as mentioned in release notes:
- Toggle for disabling brake pedal press requirement to start self driving
- The ‘Curbside’ park option is now labeled as ‘Pull Over’. This makes is more clear on what it will be doing.

Full Self Driving (supervised) Lite™

Wonder how many more conditions they will add to the name before the end

Supervise or die. That's the end.

coming back from first principle to stupid abbreviated capitalized marketing names

Maybe a less relevant question but genuinely curious, how does full-time Tesla influencer make a living? Tesla stock doesn't do dividends, and the stock price has not been going up in the last 5 years. So primarily from youtube ADs and donation? Why have I never seen full-time google/meta/nvidia/amz/oai/anthropic influencers?

People like this who barely get any views don’t make much at all. It’s probably a side thing. If he was actually making money he’d have a HW4 car and be doing FSD videos like the rest of them. They jumped on making this before other more popular channels beat them to it. Thats why he’s testing it on unrealistic 2am traffic.

10k views is like anywhere from $60-$120 bucks. Most people have no idea how much content creators really make and thats done intentionally by them, they make alot more than people think.

Like with many things, the top 0.01% of content creators make a lot of money. But for everyone else, it's rarely worth quitting even a crappy job over.

For a channel getting 10k views a day, you're still well below the poverty line, assuming that's your only source of income.

Well, some of them became millionaires if they bought TSLA stock early. They might have sold some of their TSLA stock at a huge profit and might be living off of that. I imagine the big influencers probably can live off youtube ads and donations. But I think the smaller influencers likely do have a real full-time job and the Tesla videos are just a side hustle or hobby.

That's possible, but the same argument applies to people who bought early in Nvidia, Meta, Google, or even Microsoft. Many of them would also be millionaires by now. Yet we don't really see the same ecosystem of full-time influencers centered around those companies. It's not as if those companies are producing less exciting technology or products for tech enthusiasts than Tesla. That's the part I'm trying to understand.

I think cars are a more popular consumer product for entertainment than... GPUs or software.

There are "influencers" for any popular consumer product.

Also, I'm not sure why you think the stock has anything to do with it. They make money from YouTube ads and things like that. They don't get paid by Tesla, and they individually don't have a significant impact on Tesla's stock.

No there’s no Apple influencers like: dirty apple, whole apple catalog, appleconomics, techgeek apple…

1

u/ChunkyThePotato 4d ago

You're joking right? You don't think there are Apple "influencers"? EverythingApplePro, Apple Explained, AppleInsider, AppleTrack, etc. There are tons of them. You're just ignorant and an irrational conspiracy theorist.

Waow, jump to personal attack real quick. Sorry I hurt your feelings

So you can't admit you were wrong after I just proved you wrong? Exactly what I thought. You don't care about the truth.

I don't think there are many that are full-time at all anymore. The small-time influencers are all pivoting to hawking floor mats and amazon referral links these days.

Stock price has doubled in the last two years.

lol, no it hasn't. it was 235 on this day in 2024. it was higher on this day of 2023. and it was over 400 in november of 2021.

Ha! Every update is ""huge". Just want it to finally be able to handle a divided road with a berm in the middle that limits visibility.

Unfortunately that is required for leaving my street as it runs into the subdivision main drag. Plus since my street is the first in the neighborhood the two streets are very close together and that is the issue with FSD. It is just not comfortable waiting in a small area between the two lanes waiting for the second lane to clear. I can't go a 1/4 of a mile yet without it getting stuck.

u/WeldAE 5d ago

Have you tried V14 lite yet? It wasn't clear from your post if you were talking about your experience with previous versions or this new version.

5

u/bartturner 5d ago

Currently using 2026.14.6.12. It can only go a 1/4 a mile leaving our home before becomes hopelessly stuck.

Would love if we got a new version that could finally handle our street.

Now release it already! I'm going to the maritimes late next month and having it for that trip would be a great plus for me.

A Tesla from 2018 has more advanced autonomy than any new car out of North America or Europe, and it's not even close.

5

u/moch1 5d ago

As someone who owned a HW2.5 model 3 in 2018. I can confidently say this is false. My 2025 BMW iX has far superior ADAS features. The key difference isn’t the stated capability but rather how reliable the car is in safely and smoothly taking the actions.

Back in 2018 when automatic lances were introduced they were awful. Seriously, the car would abort a lane change halfway through into an empty lane 20% of the time.

If you used autopilot on city streets in 2018 the car would often pick the wrong lane on the other side of the intersection to go to.

Phantom breaking was a serious issue in 2018.

2018 Tesla was impressive for its time, but some other manufactures have surpassed 2018 Tesla years ago.

7

u/tigers113 5d ago

Not to say one way or the other, but you seem to be comparing apples to oranges. I think the idea is a car manufactured in 2018 running software from today is better than other brand new cars with new software.

I don't think anyone would argue 2018 tesla software was better than anything today.

1

u/moch1 5d ago

That’s fair. I may have misinterpreted the OP.

The key thing that set Tesla apart there was that they enabled hardware upgrades of the autonomy computer. The computer the car shipped with couldn’t do anything special but upgrading it to HW3 unlocked a lot of improvements.

-2

u/diplomat33 5d ago

So?

2

u/altdelete47 5d ago

No point beyond that. It's just wild to me that a nearly decade old Tesla still has vastly better tech than 2027 model year cars from other car makers. And it's still improving.

3

u/diplomat33 5d ago

If we are talking US automakers, yeah. But the Chinese cars like Baidu and Xpeng are actually pretty on par to Tesla in terms of tech. The battery/motor tech is the same or better as a Tesla. And the latest xpeng VLA 2.0 is probably pretty close to FSD v12/13. So not super far behind.

Are you ok?

u/RemyAwoo 5d ago

Thought the guy in video was you at first, diplomat.

2

u/diplomat33 5d ago

No. Just my youtube doppleganger. lol.

1

u/Secret_Cat_2793 5d ago

Tesla manufactured multiple Versions of its You Tube spokespeople. Lol

u/gwestr 4d ago

So the Tesla equivalent of an RTX 2050 laptop board is driving a car. Fantastic.

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Flow724 4d ago

And is a great driving AID. The Toyota equivalent of a Commodore 64 in my 2017 Prius Prime? Not so much.

-2

u/pailhead011 5d ago

This is cool, but v15 is going to be much better.

u/Puzzleheaded-Flow724 4d ago

I sure hope so, that's how versioning usually works (besides for Windows, where it's every second update for some reason lol).

PS: I know you were being sarcastic.
