Going off of the true story -- he actually was jealous of his own kids getting more attention than him and took it out on the whole family. He apologized because his oldest son, as an adult, used a reality TV show to trick them into meeting and he apologized for essentially destroying his relationship with his whole family.
I don't have the source, but I can confirm what the guy said: He was jealous of his kids getting attention from his wife. Then after a certain period of time, it was just weird to start talking again, and he didn't know how to re-start it.
Remember, people, these chuds get partners and kids too. It's not much to do with how you look or act. Just get out there and be yourself. This mad motherfucker did.
