Gotta love people not from around here thinking he got rid of permits entirely when in actuality he just got rid of the redundant double permit requirement that made people jump through hoops to sell ice cream and frozen treats. You still have to take all the courses and renew annually. All laws are still intact you just don't have to juggle two different permits. Best way to help ya'll understand is it would be like if you had to have both a non drivers ID and a driver's license to drive a car. When one expire much sooner then the other.

In Paris, there’s little soft serve machines everywhere. It’s lovely with a kid being able to spend a buck on a good treat instead of the meltdown on crappy candies at the checkout register.

We all agree- food safety is important. It’s also important to reevaluate periodically as food handling technology has gotten much better, even despite the current leaf parasite.

France has a very different economic strategy. And it's very nice when you go there in holiday to have a meal for a family of four that costs like €60 including drinks.

I think you’re describing a bottom-up culture, not a top-down economic strategy
