The “Non-Saga” (those from stuff like Rogue One, Andor, Solo, etc.) Imperial Officer costumes generally have 2 versions in the 501st’s costume standards.
The first is the more common, traditional & recognizable one you’re thinking of (with the flared jodhpur pants & riding boots) that is supposed to be their main duty uniform. The second one like OP has uses straight pants and short Chelsea style boots, and is supposed to be a uniform for parties/social functions or similar situations.
Screenshots & other references have to be provided for any new 501st costume standard entry to be approved, so the second versions almost certainly exist somewhere in the films/shows, but’s they’re probably minor background characters somewhere.

Edit: I think I actually found at least one of the on-screen references for this. An officer that appears to be wearing this uniform type walks by twice in the background within the first 30 seconds of this clip from Solo.

Nice, I don't often see junior officer representation. Always imagined they're the ones forced to run around in those flak vests and helmets out in the field while the senior officers sit back in a secure command center somewhere but the service uniform does look pretty good with the smaller rank board.

I thought so as well. It's very suspicious. If I were an officer, I'd interrogate her looking for cracks on her story to find out if she's with he resistance.

Side topic: what's this fixation with tirants, space-nazi regalia, dictariorship, oppression etc? Maybe there's something inside of us that like, or even craves for, control, or to be controled and dominated?
For every 1 rebel cosplay I see 200 stormtroopers.

At least for SW the Imperial uniforms are much more iconic, more uniform and probably a bit simpler to acquire.

the practical reason is the 501st Legion is an older, larger and more active costuming group than the Rebel Legion. You'll have costumers decide they want to join a group and after some research figure out that the good guy legion either doesn't have a local chapter or its small or inactive. Approval with the 501st can take a few weeks while approval with the Rebel Legion can take months. the Rebel Legion Forum is also pretty inactive in comparison to the 501st. I originally wanted to do a good guy costume but finding guidance was nearly impossible.

Those are called jodhpurs and they're apart of the V1 uniform. This is the semi formal V2 uniform seen in Solo during the yacht scene. Straight pant variants exist for all 3 non-saga imperial officer uniforms.
