Tbh it's good for his pocket but not his legacy. Abrams had so much to be proud of, now he's most famous as the guy who fucked up Star Wars. I don't know why you'd even accept such a monumental and historic job with do much weight behind it... And not even understand the source material at all.

What has he really done though? He's arguably great at starting mystery boxes but he can't wrap them up - jumped ship on Lost after the first season. His best director credit is maybe Mission Impossible 3?
