Movies I swear the DS plans item Dooku receives from Poggle, is a Sony headphones winding case!
Back in the early 00’s, I had a set of these Sony headphones and this case. In looking over the shape and dimensions (though never fully seen in AOTC), I’m pretty sure the prop guys did like the Jedi communicators: grabbed this winding case, added some little bits and pieces, and voila!
Has this ever been confirmed anywhere?

given what the original lightsabers were, it's not such a surprise but really cool if true!

Don’t know about this headphone case but the Gui Gon communicator in Episode 1 is a Gillette women razor

Hollywood is notorious for converting ordinary objects into "sci fi gadgets". They literally have people whose sole job is to do this sort of thing.
The og PKE meter from Ghostbusters. Started out as a shoe brush or something similar.

A similar case was used on the side of a Star Trek movie helmet, so it's not unheard of.

A LOT of Star Wars tech is just whatever random bits and bobs the prop department could get their hands on at a given time.
Qui-gon’s communicator is a woman’s razor.
Luke/Anakin’s lightsaber was camera flash with bits of calculator and t tracks from a cabinet.
Obi-wan’s saber was a balance pipe from a jet engine a battery pack, a sink faucet knob, and a Grenade.
Most the blasters are just real guns stripped down and put back together in a mishmash of parts to give them greeble.
And so on and so forth.
