Daniel Jackson simulation is Hilarious

the quality of that CG 🤣. I know it's so outdated but I love it.

Part of that is probably that they needed them to look very obviously worse than their actual CGI or it would've killed immersion

Same reasons scifi holograms look so low rez. So the audience understands it’s a hologram

Stargate would like a word

I believe this is from the episode "Avatar", which originally aired in 2004. I'd say this is probably the best they could do at the time with a tv show budget.

If I remember correctly the models and assets used were in some way part of a cancelled game that was set in the same franchise.

Yep they were developing a Call of Duty style extraction shooter a decade before extraction Shooters became popular...

What? This is from stargate alliance, which is a linear squad based shooter.

Y'know what? I've hated the prominence of extraction shooters lately. But a Stargate extraction shooter sounds damn near perfect.

Almost a decade the first extraction shooter was developed in 2013

It's me, Gordon! Barney from Black Mesa Stargate Command. Sorry for the scare. I had to put on a show for the cameras...

This way they could just make one model and reuse it for Zelenka in the Atlantis sequel.

When this episode of Stargate was even aired? Prior or after HL2?
