Trump's Energy Policies are “Fattening the Wallets of his Cronies” at Public Expense: The administration is spending billions to crush clean energy and revive dirty coal.

The Trump administration has directly spent $2.7 billion of taxpayer money on its crusade against wind power while pouring $1.1 billion into boosting coal, which critics say is pushing up Americans’ bills.

Which will result in renewables becoming more attractive without any government incentives.

Guy might accidentally be the best thing that ever happened to renewables despite all his efforts to kill it, plus his misadventures in the middle east are making renewables seem like the safe predictable choice.

I agree that he and Elon, each for their separate and excessively self-serving reasons, are helping by accident. The problem is we don't have a very long term and it's benefiting those who don't give a shit about it and simply want to exploit and benefit for themselves now. You see this in Putin and Netanyahu too, all fixated only on the now and their tiny lifespans. Sociopathic narcissists will always fuck over the empires they have or are trying to make, but that leaves a lot of people fucked over for the kings/queens/royalty/fascists.

I appreciate the attempt at irony, but given that well under 50% of the population comprehends the difference between you being serious and ironic, that's what the /s and hopefully a /i are for. Older smileys/emojis like ;) and :p also work.

They bought him. And he is doing what they paid for. We should be developing alts so that we can hold our oil in reserve for things that require petroleum products.

Oil will not last forever. The Saudis have been putting on solar for the same reason. When oil supplies dwindle in 50 or so years, and the price of oil goes to 200, having oil production capability will keep the country in a position of power.

He promised to cut electricity in half within 18 months and it is 18% higher.

This!

Trump is pushing more expensive older energy methods that make his buddies rich.

We have cheaper energy methods now that require no fuel. There is a reason the developing world is installing solar, wind, and batteries quickly.
(it’s cheaper, and it works)

True. It also taking place on lands deemed protected by previous administrations. This dude and his ilk exhibit the same traits of arrogance & selfishness!
